Hi guys,
I'd like to use my laptops speakers and microphone as a 'bluetooth headset / handsfree device' so I can talk without having the phone in my hand.
Is this possible to do ?
I am using the Soliel 2.3 bluetooth stack with a Broadcom USB BT dongle which does appear to show 'bluetooth headset' as a service but my Wizard only shows 'serial port' as being an available service.
I'm currently using the NBD 8.0 rom..
Any suggestions appreciated!
does nobody know, or is this just not possible ?
I do think it's possible...
Hey,
i am using Jaguar's 3.1 and when i set up all my BT connections i saw the following in my list of connections to my PC: Serial, dial up net and headset. just for kicks cause i've been down about my rom project not turning out so good i messed with it and it works...somewhat. i say that because it was kinda choppy but that might have been 'cause i had both phones in the same room.

i hate the process to connect with my bluetooth headset
Comm Manager -> Settings ->
Bluetoth Settings -> Devices ->
klick -> set as wireless stereo
gives any app to do this with one klick or one button ???
What headset are you using? I have Logitech wireless stereo headset. I connect it like this:
1. Turn headset on.
2. Press button on the headset once.
3. Headset says "beep" and bluetooth audio is connected
What the button?
I have four on my Sonorix
Only three on Logitech and two of them are volume controls so it's easy
This also doesn't seem to work on my i-Phono Minis, does anyone have a small app that switches this or knows of the API call needed to get the wireless headset to kick on?
Thanks,
Jon.
It's an A2DP issue. Some headphones connect, others do not.
The HP FA303/Logitech headset is one that works. The Moto HT820 is another but has an annoying high frequency distortion. I believe the Jabra BT620 also works correctly but I haven't personally verified this.
My I-Tech S35 BT Headphone adapter
I have to go thru the same process to get a2dp wireless stereo working.
Comm Manager -> Settings ->
Bluetoth Settings -> Devices ->
klick -> set as wireless stereo
I have tried shortcuts using vijays excellent app, but end up getting the wireless headset audio instead of full blown stereo.. there must be a better solution to this..

I´m using the I-Tech Blueband
and i think i had see a BT-stark to connect with one button but i don´t find it..
This issue is very likely one of the reasons why A2DP was never officially released.
i think Buzz have write a little tool to do this but it´s hard to find it on the big forum...

That doesn't make much sense - the reason why they didn't release technology was because it took too many steps to turn on? You wouldn't remove a room from a house just because the contractor put the switch in an inconvient location...
no... the reason it wasn't ever officially released was because of inconsistent device support. Some headphones connect just fine (HP, Logitech, moto) and others don't. Some headsets sound just fine (HP, Logitech) and other's don't (Moto HT820).
Hey guys. I had a moto ht820 (or whatever) and they connected automatically when they were turned on, but crashed frequently when getting calls. Now I have BT620s (jabra) and they work nice However I do have to go and connect them (sux).
So I am posting in hopes that VJ will see this and write a quick connect for the STEREO BT headset like he wrote the other one for Hands Free.

I'm experience the same problem i have a2dp on my device (mda vario) but everytime i'll have to go to bluetooth, device's, select the headset and set as wireless stereo. isn't there a way to do this automatic?
Becouse it's really bugging me. i have the jabra 620
I have been using for awhile the Moto HS850 and have been able to initiate calls (via voice command), answer calls, etc.
Not too long ago, I went and purchased a H700 (for the noise reduction). For the life of me, I couldn't get the initiate call via VC to work, and it works perfectly with the HS850!
Does anyone have any idea why I would not be able to get the H to work?
Hey guys,
is now a solution out there to connect with one button
the jabra bt620 ??

Hi,
Just a quick question. My Moto HT 820 also works both playing music and working as head set. Unfortunately it's mono .
For the tests I've set the wizard to connect to Moto only as wireless stereo but
it keeps playing mono
Is that my issue or general ?
I run MX6r3
cheers
hey all
I was wondering if it possible to use the hermes as a headset, my bluetooth chip in my mac picks up the hermes and gives the option to use it as a headset, do you need aditional software to get functionality. Any ideas ?
Hi all,
I've been trying to figure out a way of using my computers speakers/headset as the headset for my phone.
Basically I work in a shared office and tend to listen to music all day with a closed cup headset and find it quite annoying to take off my headset to receive a call.
I've managed to get my music played form my trinity via A2DP (bluesoleil's audio sink service) to my computers headset, but calls are still left on my device
Is it possible that my computer can act as a headset too? can this be done via USB cable rather then Bluetooth?
Any ideas/pointers would be great!

Looking at my computer bluetooth configuration (WinNT with Widcomm BT stack) I can see that in the list of local services supported by the BT stack there is also the "Headset" profile. Enabling that service and pairing your phone to make it use such service should be what you are looking for but honestly I have never tried myself.
PS: You have a different BT stack so first thing you should do is check if you have "headset" profile in the list of local services... if it is not there then I guess you are out of luck.

Yer, it doesn't look like i have one, might have to try a different bluetooth stack. Shame, bluesoleil looks like a nice simple solution
Thanks for your help
Hi!
A lot of threats ago, I hoped to managed my problem with my X1 and the car radio.
Last but not least - one problem has left and I´m not able to manage it on my own, I´m sorry...
To use the handsfree telephone connection is easy - just switch the bluetooth-button ...
Whenever I wanna hear music on my car radio, I have to switch to "settings -> connections -> bluetooth ->"
and long click at the car radio "XPLOD" (Sony) to activate "use as bluetoothheadset" -
than it works.
Is there someone who can explain in simple words please,
how I can do that easier for the future?
Thanks a lot for your help,
Epi
p.s.: software version R2AA009
Hi Epi,
do you use other Bluetooth Audio Steroe Hardware with the X1 when not i the car?
In my case I don't and I don't have any problems connecting via bluetoothaudio to my car stereo (also a sony).
Works like this: Normal Handsfree connection connects automatically, for Music connection I have to change the car-stereo source to "Bluetooth Audio" and press the button "6" once to connect to the phone.
The way you described I think only happened here when I used another stereo bluetooth device in the meantime.
Greets,
sb
I have the following problem when connecting the HD2 with bluetooth to my car stereo:
The car stereo is capable of BT-phone (Hands-free) as well as BT-audio (Stereo Audio) connection. The connections are made automatically (connections are set and authorized) indicated with two different symbols indicating each connection.
The following occurs:
A. When connecting the HD2 for the FIRST time to this stereo, both BT-phone and BT-audio do connect automatically. This can be monitored by the two symbols on the car stereo, and also in the bluetooth connection monitor on HD2.. both Stereo Audio and Hands-free are connected, indicated by the green arrows.
B. When connecting the HD2 again (so anytime but first time), ONLY BT-phone does connect automatically!
The BT-audio connection I can connect when I need to, but this can be done only manually in the bluetooth settings on the HD2 by ticking the Stereo Audio entry.
In case B it makes no change if I check or uncheck the "Connect seperately to Bluetooth hands-free and stereo audio services" checkbox in the connection properties on the HD2. Makes no difference.
Also, a normal stereo bluetooth headset connects both BT-phone and BT-audio at all times,
So for the car I would like to also have Stereo Audio connect automatically too (like Hands-free). For the HD2 I have tried several ROMs and several soft/hard resets to make sure it is a problem which always occurs..
Why does the car stereo only connect both services the first time the connection is made, and afterwards only the phone handsfree service?

i have exactly the same problem! any suggestions on this would be appreciated
+1
using fiscon mobile.
at the same time i have quality issues (no bass or low sampling rate). but i guess this is a fiscon problem? it was the same with my previous i-phone.
Audio quality is fine here. Is the connection issue a Windows Mobile bug?

on a fiscon? are you using a fiscon as well?
I don't know if this is helpful, however I have an IO Play system in my car and it connects automatically everytime for both handsfree and audio streaming.
Works fine for me with my Lidl (!) Silvercrest car stereo. But for me the HD2 has to be playing audio/music for the Bluetooth streaming to work.
FYI - my car stereo is an Eclipse 3200
Have the same issue with A2DP Bluetooth headphones/handsfree.
While the device recognised it as Bluetooth stereo and handsfree and on a first connection both connections are active in device profile, on any other connections only handsfree connects authomatically. And I need to mannually connect stereo in Bluetooth manager :/
Same here :S
Every time i connect my Nokia BT Headphones " Hands free" connects automatically and "Stereo audio" not
I also have exactly the same problem. only BT-Phone connects, not BT-Audio.
I have a Sony headunit. Seen as I guess we all have different headunits in our cars, it must be an issue with the HD2 not the stereo.

I have a Sony car stereo.
Same here except in my case I have a cheapy Tevion (Aldi) headunit. This is a real pain in the neck if you stop and turn off the engine of the car because then I have to reconnect BT Audio again
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think this also happens with A2DP stereo headsets with combined audio+HF.. Don't know why though..
Had this problem with my HTC Diamond, and now with my HD2.. Search for "A2DP Toggle"..
It defintiely happens with some A2DP headsets - I have a Sony headset and it happens on that. You have to manually connect A2DP profile each time.
We need an A2DP toggle for the HD2 Widcomm stack ...

I have a Sony headset which connects both BT Audio and BT Phone together, and a Sony Car stereo which connects only BT Phone.
I have the exact same issue with my JVC car head unit, should be able to connect to use as hands-free and stream music, but neither will retain a connection. I can't connect and pair the devices with the '000' (or whatever I choose) BT pairing code. My previous mobile worked perfectly and auto-connected as it should every time.
I submitted it as a support request on HTC (UK) site, here is my response:
Thank you for your enquiry.
The Bluetooth accessory you have mentioned may not be fully compatible with the HTC handset so may have limited features to be used with the device. For example you maybe able to pair it but other faults may occur. Please keep an eye on our website for any future updates such as Bluetooth patches and ROM upgrades. We cannot confirm if and when these may or may not become available.
As a test, you maybe able to delete all Bluetooth partnerships/devices from your handset and start the pairing process again.
Is it working now?
As an alternative solution please see compatible and recommended Bluetooth accessories in the Buy section of our website below:
(Link to 'HD2 Bluetooth Accessories' page of their website)
Please let us know how you get on and we will assist you further if and when required as a matter of urgency.
Best regards,
Mat

Not the response I wanted, and when I have followed up on this reply I got the same copy/pasted text response! Upon following up on that reply I think they gave up on me as I haven't got a reply this time!
Basically, they want me to go out and spend another couple of hundred £ on more equipment to achieve my hands-free (without an earpiece) requirement, even though I already have the equipment but can't make it connect!!

HTC is getting better and better at standard responses. However there are also helpful and knowledgeable people on the other side of the communication line.
Approved bluetooth says nothing, as if they will try to test every bluetooth device in the world, even sold prior to the birth of the HD2... right.
However the problem is perhaps more WinMo related and not only HD2. But I have only the HD2 to test with..
AND WHILE WRITING... I see that also sony stereo headset is connected as BT Phone... guess we need a small tool to connect bluetooth easily.
I think its a combination of the software in the Bluetooth device and the host. My Sony headset would also require manual A2DP connection with my previous phone - an Eten. As others have posted here other Sony headsets will pair with the HD2 automatically for A2DP.

I can also confirm this "bug". Can't get my A2DP device (BCK-08) to connect (itself) as BT Stereo. Everytime reconnects automatically in HF mode. That really sucks.
