Wow, been a few years since i been here. its actually great to be back. finally got rid of that horrble hiptop/sidekick and got a tmobile mda vario. I am currently using a tmobile mda running xelencin's cooked htc wizard rom version 2.26 on suncom service but i still havent purchased any data plan. i was wondering if there was any way of getting an unlimited plan besides the actual ppc plan which is around 44.99. there is another unlimited plan which is known as inet for 24.99 and i believe that its similar to what tmobile has as tzones (not 100% tho)
well basically I know that people on tmobile found a loop hole to use the t-zones instead of the actual mda plan so i was wondering if suncom also has a similar loophole. The only data i have now is when i find a wi-fi hot spot or when im at home and connect to my wifi
I am using an MDA ON Suncom. I have been able to get everything to work except MMS.
can i put my boostmobile sim card in the wing, and if not can i buy a prepaid tmobile sim card and put it in the tmobile wing. And if the prepaid sim card works what features would work and what features would not work.
OR

no, you cannot use boost mobile sim card in your wing.
yes, you could use a prepaid t-mobile sim card with your wing. Incidentally, I'm using a Cingular (AT&T) Pay-As-You-Go (prepaid) sim card on my tmobile wing.
Any feature supported by tmobile will work on your wing (provided you pay for it if you have to)

Except for the free t-zones that work on, say, a Nokia 6030, but not on the Wing, nor, reportedly, on other smartphones or pocket pc phones. No great loss, it was just CNN, ABCnews, account info (dial #999# instead) and lots of links to by ringtones, wallpapers, games and the like.
Hi,
I have just bought a tilt unlocked to use with my T-mobile prepaid card.
I will use the device principally like GPS and VOIP calls, this is my first PDA and I bought the tilt for the triband 3g (for the voip calls) that I can use in europe too (I'm italian) and for the inbuilt gps.
I was stupid and just discovered that t-mobile has different bands for the 3g, and that my tilt will not work with it, more I can't do an ATT plan because I have no social security number. If I would have discovered this before I would have bought a cheaper edge symbian phone with inbuilt gps
Here the questions:
There is an other carrier for 3g that will work with my tilt?
I don't want to pay a data plans with T-mobile that I will not use: is acceptable the quality of voip calls with t-mobile or I need to switch to a different carrier?
Thank you for your help
I've just fund here
att prepaid data
that att offers prepaid flat data, but I don't see nothing on their website
fund!
medianet
I asked and replied by myself
only the last question: will be possible to use voip on medianet or ATT has some limit to voip?
is possible to set up media net and have "normal" access to all websites?
Guy's,
I'm on a shortstay in NYC and wanted to get a T-Mobile prepaid SIM to use in my HTC Magic as data on my VF UK tariff is going to be stupid.
I went into a store and borrowed a prepaid SIM, I setup the following APN's on the Magic:
gprs.t-mobile.com
internet2.voicestream.com
internet3.voicestream.com
But couldn't get a connection. From the stores demo G1 I couldn't figure out what Android APN settings for a T-Mobile prepaid SIM I would need. Including the MCC and MNC.
Needless to say the rep's informed me prepaid doesn't work with a G1 or "G2" as I had to refer to my Magic.
Can someone please help as I'd really like to get my Magic running while I'm here.
Any help appreciated
Cheers
they told you right. No data whatsoever on prepaid with T-Mobile. You can however get a flexpay account with no deposit or contract. They offer a G1 data plan on flexpay for about $25. You will have to give them a US mailing address, but one of those ain't hard to find.
So there is no way I can use the standard browsing APN that's on a prepaid SIM and manually enter this into my Magic, as from my UK network knowledge APN's are handset agnostic, as in they work on any device s'long as you have the right settings and obviously the APN is on that MSISDN?
So I suppose I need to know what APN's do you get on a prepaid T-Mobile SIM?
its not possible...ive tried to do everything and search everywhere...i gave up after a month of fiddiling around and just signed up for flexpay.
if you get it to work please let us know.
Are there any apps that dont work with ATT that came standard with T-Mobile? Im asking because I want to delete some that are not going to be used. For instance, I noticed Mobitv, Mobile Backup, Visual Voicemail, etc. Does not work with AT&T. Interestingly enough Telenav still works for me. Odd.
Also can you download apps from att website and it work on the HD2? For instance, AT&T navigator?
I would like to ask you: how phone works? Do you have 3G or EDGE? How is speed? I'm thinking to buy one and unlock it to use on AT&T too.
Unlocked att
Im using it on att and it running on edge. I can't tell the diffrence from 3g i was running on my tilt 2. Wifi obvi. But you should get it. All my freinds on att that check out my phone want it now and most of them are Iphone users
