Flipping the camera around? - Windows Mobile Development and Hacking General

Does anyone know how to flip the camera around?
I'm coocking a rom for Prophet and I am using the drivers from the original camera and the rgu and menu dll from the Touch(ELF) camera.
the problem is that evrything works just fine but the picture is flipped upside down.... I realy need to get this solved because the drivers for the new camera 4.11 consume much more battery then the original prophet driver

yeah it would being that normaly all it have to do is to blit the cam image to the screen but upside down it have to manualy flip each frame
at 20fps or whatever the cam does
it require some cpuusage
maybe it would be lower if you could limit the fps a bit more

Camera Software

I know that im not the only person who has a problem with the cam on the Wizard. I found that the light intake is rubbish unless you turn the contrast all the way up but even then its still quite dark. Also i dont think the flash works that great either, and videos are just as bad. Now someone will probably say change it to night mode. This works great apart from the fact its so jerky that every image u take is blurred and videos are very jerky as well. Does anyone know a fix for this or an update on the software or are we stuck with a rubbish cam? By the way when i use the cam i have no other programs running.
The only thing you can do is wait for a new rom release with an updated driver for the cam, of find a 3rd party cam driver/software with better support.
But I'm guessing we'll have to life with it.
For me most of it comes from the fact that the sensor simply is very bad quality...
was the same on the magician
in fact it was worse un usable till hacks and fixes came out, which made a marked improvement.
more ram?¿
i hate the blurry factor in my MDA's camera, i would like to be able to press the trigger and take a photo and walkaway, instead i have to click and hold my position VERY VERY still (in low light) or i'll get a blurr...
could the camera app have more ram assigned to it, like in the old mac OS9 era where you could manually change ram usage per app.
(any more news on the camera rom upgrade?)
Thanas has some tweaks - that make the camera better - clearer and better contrast see here http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=45123
It's ridiculous how you have to hack every aspect of any HTC phone even to get acceptable functionality.
It's like the phone that does everything, but does nothing well.

My TYTN's front sensor doesn't work anymore

Hi,
My front cam doesn't work even with webcameraplus or when i made a video call.
It worked before i upgrade to 2.11 1.38.
Does someone have a solution to test my front sensor or maybe to activate in the registry.
Thanks
Due to security policy I have to have my cameras removed but didn't have the guts to open my Hermes yet. Thus, a Hermes without any (working) camera would be the ideal device for me (sounds strange, huh?). Mobile cams suck anyway.

If i were you i'd either downgrade to my original rom or take the ppc in for servicing.

Diamond Video Quality

I had a HTC Touch (original from Alltel, not sure if it is the vogue or elf or whatever). The videos it shot were pretty good. I recorded my nieces soccer games and it was never blurry. Now I have the Sprint Touch Diamond and the videos are horrible blurred with ANY movement. Even just normal (and slower than normal) movements there is an awful blurring effect. I tried adjusting the settings but couldn't improve it in any way. Is there something wrong with my phone, is there a setting I am missing that will fix this, or did HTC just for some reason screw up the diamond's video recording ability? Just seems odd that the Touch would have it better than the Touch Diamond. Any help is appriciated.
clean the lens on the battery cover. or remove it and it will look fine.

Main Camera Problems

My JasJar main camera isnt working.....nothing but a black screen (however all icons are visible) but the second camera is working fine.
I took the JasJar apart, cleaned the connections and still, nothing. I also took the camera out and put it in my Wizard (both cameras looked identical) and the JasJar camera worked fine in the Wizard.
Changed radios and flash 2 others roms and still no main camera.....could it be a driver issue?
Does anyone have a copy of the HTC Camera software for the Universal?

Questions regarding "the camera trick"

Hi
I have a couple of questions re the so called camera trick.
Is it correct that you should activate the camera , then switch to video , let it autofocus and then press "home" key ??
If this is the case it leaves the camera running in the back ground as an "open" application. How can that conserve power ??
What is the logic behind the camera trick ???
Is it applicable to all custom roms?
All help / responses gratefully7 received

seems strange but battery drain is much lower with camera trick
seems photo camera automatically drain battery with autofocus and with switching to video this turn off photo camera autofocus and stay off when video camera active
it's applicable to all custom ROM's with radio 5.51

That's suggests the camera is always on ! Strange . Maybe it's part of the options "intelligent" phone ( cant remember the exact name and don't have my phone in front of me now) Like go silent when turned face down. If i remember correctly there's a "pocket mode" that turns the ringer volume up. Maybe the phone uses the camera to detect when its in " a pocket"
Still quite confused as to how this "trick" works !!

I read somewhere that driver for the video camera flash has a bug and keeps running in the background. The "camera trick" switches off the flash. Also, if you check after a while you'll see that camera stops running in the background.

start camera, switch to video, press focus down, and press home button (video camera must stay active in background)... best is to make buttons configuration for this... i make this: green/camera, home/home, win/focus down, back/back
going to load koval rom which comes with soft radio 5.71
i can change the radio to a 5.51 to get the camera trick but am i losing anything with an 'older' radio?
i read that i can only change the soft radio with a full reinstall, is that still correct?
thanks
only way to install software radio is flashing ROM with this radio....
