How broken is it ? can it be used in any way?
I need a Herald for cooking purpose so if it's working in some way I could maybe use buy it.
I've uploaded a beta that no one wan't to try so if I had a kind of working device I can test myself.

nah the usb port on it doesnt connect to active sync...nd also the phone is tore up the screen craked and it fell in water...

congrats on that, dude. You've now reached the highest status that XDA-devs affords you (other than moderator, but you could actually see that as extra work)
anyway, i've always liked bb for their ridiculous ease of use, and i'm getting kind tired of my touchscreen anyway

yeaa kinda did too..bb is pretty good love the way the emails are and how u can make ur own bb email and it has a reallyyy good cam ..but am still gunna be round if anyone needs help...

ahh...yeah HTC devices are fun but if you do decide to part with one just let me know in a PM, thanks.

Why not just wait for the G1? It's, in all ways?, better than the Herald. Plus a cheap Wing is maybe... 150? Why not just get a G1 for 180 with contract?... unless you're like in the middle of a contract?

What do you mean except the OS? That's the main reason why we all want the G1? Because it's made with Google Android.
Is that what you meant? That the Wing has a better OS than the G1?

I need it for hacking, I don't have any OMAP based HTC's yet, so G1 will not do for this purpose.
(one day I'll get the G1 or similar android HTC, I'm sure)

Of course, it would seem this place it like it was where base rom's aren't shared amongst the community... Just modified ones, with imgfs headers removed so their "work" can't be ripped off.
I will be posting some generic untouched roms in the coming weeks...

New HD2 On its way :-)

Just ordered myself a HD2 off of Ebay. Paid $750aud inc shipping. Finally decided to retire my slow old Xperia X1, will prob just keep using it to test new rom's that come out....
Now I have a few questions. Are they're any special tweaks or cabs to install to make it better? What case's are people mainly using with the HD2? Any general problems or things I should know?

I think that is very personal.
I am using cookie tab now and it is very good for what i like about a phone. Just look around this forum and read, try and experience !
It`s very nice to try tweaks especially if they are in a cab. If you don`t like it, just uninstall. If anything is not good the folks here will help you set thing right again.
Its a great forum for a great phone

You will not be disappointed... I was worried about the lack of keyboard when I made the change from the X1 to the HD2 and I can tell you its not a problem... for tweaks a must is BSB Tweaks (found on here in a sticky I think), has loads of tweaks that are very handy... there is also a thread on things to do with your HD2 when you get it... some of them are covered by bsb others not so much all handy... I have not yet had a problem with my HD2 but some do... again there are loads of threads about this problem or that... so far (touches wood as probably just jinxed myself) its been all gravy...

I reckon you should stay with the oem rom for at least a week and research this forum. customising your hd2 is a very personal thing, what suits one will not suit another. there's a thread which people post there must have apps, I would try there first. that's my opinion

It is interesting to see how fast the pricing of the Leo drops from 820AUD at the end of Jan to 750AUD now.
But anyway I recommand you to test your device for few days before doing some flashing or customising to see if there is any hardware issues
If I were you I would install several tweak softwares like BSB and HD2Tweak.
just to cover all the available reg tweaks
Just my tiny bit of advice
The Leo should amaze you lol

I just hope you get it. I ordered a phone via ebay before and got burnt along with many others, had a good rep etc. Anyway Ebay are basically useless in terms of assisting to get any $ back.
Other than that you'll love it, its a great phone and very customizable.

Its not true. Paypal buyer protection is very good. They always return my money when they should. And the seller must prove that you got the parcel.

Yer I was planning on staying on the stock rom for a bit....funny I used to flash my xperia to be like a stock HTC phone, so yer the stock rom should keep me happy for a few weeks...
Yer I was a bit skeptical about having only an onscreen keyboard, one of the things I loved about the xperia was the HW keyboard

As far as has been put out by Microsoft we won't see any WP7 phones till holiday time, i.e end of year. That's a mighty long time to wait.

I had asked HTC on twitter when the new win7 phones will be coming out since I was interested in the hd2, they told me that the first phones will be for sale in Q4,
Right now i dont know exactly what to do. But ill give it a chance and hope for an update. So ill be getting the HD2 tonight.
I bought an xperia last year in feb and was really dissapointed when there werent any new official panels, thnx to XDA I pimped my phone a little bit. But now when I recieve my new phone tonight, ill give my old Xperia to my mother who needs a new phone

Unfortunately not in my case and with 32 other people. Thats how many people this guy stung. Through letters from all victims, QLD police investigated, and the guy was tracked down and currently behind bars, this was the update from the police however still no money despite chasing for it.

One its acquired, what tools are needed to do a ROM dump/backup?

i plan on getting an incredible as well, i would be happy to do anything i can to help get a custom rom for this

I just hope someone can unlock the 720p recording. I also wish someone can maybe change the the audio when recording to AAC. Where basically having another Omnia HD problem.

I am no dev, but I am very good with Lynx, so I plan to become a dev for the incredible. I want to bring good to this Incredible Device.

Basically if Paul is successful completing the root of the Desire, the Incredible should be a shoe in. The Desire is half rooted so to speak.

I just put in my Pre-order and will be pulling a Kitchen/ROMs together once we get root....
I worked on the Eris Root and that was pretty damn tough...but we got that done as well as rooting the HTC Tatoo in the process
So I will have ROMs/Mods in the future.....as well as another couple Dev friends of mine that are heading over as well!

I wasn't aware that the MotoDroid could be unlocked in the same manner as the N1.
To the best of my knowledge, Verizon has no plans of letting any phone they release be rootable out of the box. They have the most stringent controls of any network carrier and given the size of their network in the US, they don't have to compromise.

HTC Incredible
I'll be receiving mine wednesday, hopefully will get into this thing very deep, willing to help, count me in.

The moto droid does not have an unlocked bootloader like the n1. and this will more than likely follow the same suit as the desire and legend, so whatever paul did to root the desire and legend will more than likely work on the incredible. hold tight guys, im hoping to start developing on the incredible as soon as i can afford one

I haven't before, but depending how long it takes the other guys, I might dig in. All depends how functional it is with the stock rom
