Have set up a Sync with the O2 orbit.
When I run the USPL utility all goes ok while in the Dos part when it switches to the second part Graphical it losses the sync connection and I am unable to resync.
I have had to disconnect the orbit from the pc and turn on and off to get it working agn
So I am at this moment unable to upgrage any help would be app.

New ROM and no connection (Active Sync)

After intensive reading of this site (compliments!!!), I decided to take the risk and replace the old PPC 2002 ROM version (3.12.07 ENG) to ROMkitchens' WM 2003 SE (3.04.00 ENG) on my XDA1. The upgrading process was without complications and after a full reset (Wallaby bootloader V.5.15 was shown) I happily started with the standard installation procedure.
Unfortunately, replacing the XDA in the cradle didn't realise a connection between the XDA and the PC. ActiveSync version is 4.2, USB as connection is enabled. So, e.g. a synchronisation with Office is not established, nor is it possible to install other programs like TomTom.
Is it possible that there are compatibility issues or just wrong settings????
Any help is greatly appreciated (also via PM). I'am looking forward to be able to use my device again!

And try again..!
Cheers...!
Hmmmm.
What do you mean with:
Update UPSL v0.1 by Pof
Michael
Pof is a user
UPSL is an unlocker utility so you can flash alternative ROM's
check the link - very informative.
reflashing your phone usually takes a weeks worth of reading if you care for your device.
And read it :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=312052
maybe it help you..!
Is there an easier way to explain this - Sorry i'm quite good working with my PC, but this was a bit greek:
All you need to do is:
1. Remove your SD card
2. Do a hard reset or clean storage (some programs like battery status block full access to your device)
3. Connect your mobile to PC and make sure that activsync connection is established
4. Start to flash your device with USPL, when DOS part end and your mobile switch to bootloader mode vista will find new device and start instaling new drivers.
5. Wait till vista finish installing new drivers and unplug your device, do a soft reset
6. Next step is to change vista drivers to xp, to do this you need to fallow this instruction:
http://www.mrvanx.org/cms/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=23&Itemi d=27
7. After switching the drivers plug your artemis again and install USPL, there should be no more problems with connection lost (errors 260, 270)
8. When USPL instalation will finish you can flash any rom you want to your arte
Succesfully tested on my T-Mobile MDA UK now I've got WM6 WWE.
Thanks pof for your great release
That explination is about as clear as it gets in 'phone talk'.
Perhaps elaborate a bit on what is exactly, or what step is, throwing you off.
Windows XP
Hi again.
Would i solve the problem if i just installed it from an Windows XP machine at work?
One final thing - Do you know if the GPS will still be working afterwards.
Have a good night from Oslo - Norway
Kind regards
Michael

Problems on start-up

I've just installed WM6 onto my XDA IIs
And when I start-up there were some problems
A Warning appear that : The file "PhoneService" cannot be opened.Either its is not signed with a trusrted certificate, or one of its component cannot be found, If the problem persists, try reinstalling or restoring this file.
The sesond one is "sms_alert_fix"
Can you guys hep me so solve these problems....thanx alot
Best Regards
Have you installed the updated .cab files from Xplode?
Edit: Will be called ".cabs2"
phoneservice was part of eten phone tools and it is not compatible with our phones, and wm6 i think, about sms_alert_fix i have not tryed it and don't know what it does in wm6
The problem with me now is i cannot connect my divice with my PC
Active Sync does not work. A message appear that : active Sync cannot connect to the Windows Mobile powered device. To troobleshoot the problem, click OK. I've followed those troobleshooting step but cannot solve anything...
I'm a newbie...plz help me... (
try to reinstall activesync, and hardreset your BA (the problem should be in one of them, PC or BA)
I know it's quite silly for me but i cannot hard reset my BA
I have pressed and hold the power button then press the reset button but there's nothing better, the BA just reset but there's no change.
I've downgraded it to Windows Mobile 2003 then upgraded it again to WM6 but all the settings at the first time I installed WM6 and configed are still there.
I also try to uninstall Active Sync and install it a gain too.
My PC use Windows XP, and when i try to connect the BA to another PC that use Windows Vista, it worked. So i think the problem was from my PC.
But now i wanna hard-reset it but i can...oh...i'm getting crazy with this...

ActiveSync Loosing Connection After Sync

Hi Peeps,
I have been lurking and learning here for a while now, but I cannot find the solution to this problem,
I hav e an Orange SPV M3100, using the HardSPL boot loader (2.10.oli), the latest rom from orange (oct 07) and radio version 1.38
the problem is that when i sync with active sync (4.5 build 5096) it syncs ok and then about 1 min after sync it loses connection.... so if im copying files or about to copy i cant, I then need to reset the phone and restart AS to get it to connect again???
any ideas as to what is going on? im tempting with upgrading the rom/radio but i dont want to try it if it is going to disconnect half way through!
Cheers

I have this problem often as well, I suggest that you do the following. Go to the Devices MMC and uninstall "Windows Mobile Device" from the network adapters topic. Then remove and reconnect your device. I also removed the activesync program and reinstalled it from the web. Fixed the problem for a long time.
One other thing you can do is to go to the USB to PC applet in the connections settings page and disable the "Advanced Network Functionality" option. that should make connection more stable.
Can't say I know what's going on but those two things seem to help.

[Q] Orange SPV M500 loses connection during upgrade

Hi
I'm new to all this so please be gentle.
I have a Orange spv m500 that I'm trying to upgrade. I run the Rom upgrade and it connects, tells me that it is upgrading from one version to the new version. The phone then goes into the bootloader mode. Usb at the top of the screen and v1.00 at the bottom. After about 2 mins I get a 101 connection error.
Phone now just stuck in the bootloader.
Please help
Kerr

so your PC using Windows Vista OS, no wonder you did not find wcescomm.exe !!
for synchronization you could use WMDC 6.1 for Windows Vista
here, report the successful flash the rom in Vista ~ http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2640169&postcount=6
upgrade done
Hi Thanks to all that provided advice. I managed to get an old xp laptop and got connected and upgraded. Cheers
