I installed bt Auto on my cingular 8125 and Microsoft (r).Net Compact Framework but when I try to execute it, it says this .This application BT test exe. requires a newer version of the Microsoft (r). Net Compact Framework than the version installed on my device .Is there a way to run this application without the Microsoft Framework installed .I think I might loaded a bad application of Bt Auto also ,If anyone know where I can get this application please advise.

Has anyone been able to install .NET Compact Framework 2.0 Redistributable and Kasuei Hitchiker and and get it running?
.NET needs to be installed first but it wont install.
What other wifi monitor tools are people using on the wizard?
TIA.
WiFiFoFum works very nicely for me - very handy when setting up wireless networks (I'm in IT). It's a little sluggish to load, but does the job.
I am trying to install .NET Compact Framework 2.0 Redistributional
But it gets stuck on when it tries to read from the source, so I can't install it on my PPC at all.
Anyone can provide the CAB files for it?
...update.
I had to do a ROM re-install and I then installed .net CF before any other app and it installed OK as did Hitchhiker. Hitchhiker is very "pretty" but this beta version wasn't too happy - I kept getting blank screens. I will stick with wiffofum.
thanks for the suggestions.
Hi,
feeling very silly for asking... how do you install Compact .Net?
Or better: how do you get it to be recognized by the system?
I have installed the latest Cnet 2 SP1 version, which appears among the installed apps both on my desktop Pc and on the Wizard... but HitchHiker won't install as "you need Compact .Net installed..."!!!
I know I did find a solution a few months ago when first installing the damn app, but I can't remember what it was. I searched the forum and I only found a suggestion to close all the running app on the Wiz, but this doesn't seem to work.
Can anybody provide a reliable procedure to get it working?
TIA!
hi there
from your post it seems that you have not install .net compact framework on ur wizard.
it is very simple, all you need to do is to find out if you need .net compact framework v1.1 or 2.0? i am not sure if both is compatible with each other.
then goto micrsoft website and search for the download link to either one. download the installation file to your pc and run the installation there. it will install on ur wizard over activesync.
Not so simple, in fact.
I'm using the right build, and it installs nicely both on the desktop Pc and the Wiz.
Only problem is: when I try to install Hitchhiker (from the PC, as it is the only possible setup), it doesn't recognize the presence of C.Net.
did you install in a storage card or ram?
have you got the right version?
No more blues!
The problem wasn't in c.Net at all, but in the faulty instructions for HitchHiker! It turns out it needs BOTH c.Net and the "normal" .Net framework to be installed, but they only state it needs the Compact flavour.
I just wonder how come nobody else came up with this issue before...
Thanks to everyone, however!
now this really puzzled me. does wm5 able to run .net framework as well as compact framework? as far as i know wm2003 only able to run .net compact framework.
how do you squeeze 20mb of file, not to mention not mobile device install file for .net framrwork?
I don't. Compact .Net does a double-install on both che desktop and the Wiz, while "normal" .Net framework only installs on the desktop, but is apparently needed to get the Hitchiker app to install... on the portable device.
There WAS a reason for which I couldn't get around it all, y'see?
I am a newcomer about PDA devices. I have a Qtek S200 (Prophet) device and i have some problems with it. It has Windows Mobile 5. I did not upgrade it with a new rom. So here are my questions and problems about this device. Please respond me.
1- Wifi Problem = I have an access point at home (US Robotics 5451) and i am using it with WPA2 security. So when i try to connect with my PDA it connects but a few seconds later connection losts. But when i do not use WPA2 or another encryption system i can connect with my PDA easily. What can i do to solve this problem?
2- .NET Framework Upgrade = I have tried to install Microsoft .net framework 2.0 to my devices storage card but when i do that my device gives an error message. It says " Main memory of device is low please free some" so i could not install it perfectly and when i try to install stg. that needs .net framework 2 or higher problems arise about installation. What can i do?
3- ROM Upgrade = I really would like to upgrade my prophet device. I want a rom with TouchFLO application so anybody can help me about it? What rom should i install?
I think a WM6 (not 6.1) ROM would be best they have .NET CF 2.0 built in, and have been around long enough for the problems with WiFi to be removed. I personally would recommend one of Gullums "Prophet Touch" series as they are stable and have the cube built in, or something like PDAViet 4 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=319206&highlight=Prophet+Touch) I think they use the "old" method of upgrading, so look at that rather than the "new" method.
EDIT: for a simpler upgrade, I would use one of gullums Coffie ROMs (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=355915&highlight=Prophet+Touch) they use the "new" method for upgrading. Info on that can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=350033
As above, anyone know how i can update this?
when i try to use some apps an error message occurs stating that i need a newer version of compact framework
any ideas?
search over this forum or google for .NET Compact Framework 3.5 (this is the latest version I know, Diamond comes with 2.0 by default), download it on your PC and install it having your Diamond connected to the PC via ActiveSync. Program will install and automatically generate CAB's for your Diamond, transfer it on the phone and start install on it. Just follow the instructions after that
The problem is i dont have access to active sync at the moment, i use a mac
Apparently theres a way to install it on the phone without active sync?
There is a NetCF 3.5 cab...
There is a search funktion to this forum...
Try this link...
There is a way. Use the cab file. It can be found here in the forums.

Hey Guys, iv downloaded a few programs and it says i need .net framework installed, i have downloaded a few, but no idea how to install or even if i have downloaded the correct file

Thanks
CobbyJ
google is your friend
- first entry
- ".NET Compact Framework 3.5 Redistributable Now Available"
- download and install
Microsoft
Just google search .net framework 3.5 windows mobile. I thinks it's called the "compact redistributable". Take the first link you find that is the microsoft website. Make sure your system is set up with Activesync or WMDC(vista/7) and then run the executable while you phone is connected. The active sync will pop up and install it to your phone then just click ok on your phone and you're done.
There's also .CAB file on this forum!
Thanks got it all working now, but the iplayer i tried kept crashing
thanks anyway guys
