Some Problems About My Device :( - JAMin, XDA Neo, S200 General

I am a newcomer about PDA devices. I have a Qtek S200 (Prophet) device and i have some problems with it. It has Windows Mobile 5. I did not upgrade it with a new rom. So here are my questions and problems about this device. Please respond me.
1- Wifi Problem = I have an access point at home (US Robotics 5451) and i am using it with WPA2 security. So when i try to connect with my PDA it connects but a few seconds later connection losts. But when i do not use WPA2 or another encryption system i can connect with my PDA easily. What can i do to solve this problem?
2- .NET Framework Upgrade = I have tried to install Microsoft .net framework 2.0 to my devices storage card but when i do that my device gives an error message. It says " Main memory of device is low please free some" so i could not install it perfectly and when i try to install stg. that needs .net framework 2 or higher problems arise about installation. What can i do?
3- ROM Upgrade = I really would like to upgrade my prophet device. I want a rom with TouchFLO application so anybody can help me about it? What rom should i install?

I think a WM6 (not 6.1) ROM would be best they have .NET CF 2.0 built in, and have been around long enough for the problems with WiFi to be removed. I personally would recommend one of Gullums "Prophet Touch" series as they are stable and have the cube built in, or something like PDAViet 4 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=319206&highlight=Prophet+Touch) I think they use the "old" method of upgrading, so look at that rather than the "new" method.
EDIT: for a simpler upgrade, I would use one of gullums Coffie ROMs (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=355915&highlight=Prophet+Touch) they use the "new" method for upgrading. Info on that can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=350033

Himalya WM5

Hey guys,
Newbie here
I have a himalya(XDAII)
Rom Vers. 1.66.00 WWE
Radio 1.10.00
I want 2 know whether i should upgrade to WM5 or not
I mean is it really worth it or not
Can any one help and guide me step by step
[/b]
...
Well the upgrade to WM 5.0 is not so easy and clear (for newbie) as the upgrade for WM2003SE. I mean the additional installations of postinstallfixes,DOCtools,RAMdisk,MMS,etc(all things must be installed separately, while 2003se's ROM is completely prepared). Anyway try the web server made by our King of Himalaya (BL) http://buzzdev.net
it is described there a lot about,or try the discussion board for WM5 especially.
I want to notice you for few recommended steps:
1. what size of RAMdisk do you want to use? (My recommendation is 64/64).
2. flash ROM image patched with current RAMdisk size (Use HimaUpgradeUt_noID)
3. install DOCtools to raise up your Storage space
4. do a hard-reset(for DOCtools)
5. after start-up install PostInstallFixes(shipped in zip with ROM image)
6. install RAMdisk with your preffered size
7. Install MMS
8. beware of installation of old software(some software is not able to run under WM5)
If you will have any question,I can maybe help.
Thanx
wat i really want 2 know is whether upgrading 2 WM5 would be worth the trouble or not.....i mean is the OS really that gr8??
i'm a new user of O2 and dont want 2 fiddle 2 much with my fone coz i might wreck it!!
i'll only do an upgrade if WM5 provides me with some additional utilities otherwise i'm quite happy with WM2003...
...
Well there are 3 major problems with WM5:
-I am still unable to establish ActiveSync connection via USB(you need at least ASv4.0)(I am using BT for connection)
-The camera software is really crap and portation from 2003se is not yet done
-Sometimes there's a problem with phone(call answer,establish,end etc.)
Anything else is really good and better than before. The system is running rock-solid without crashes. The biggest + is that this PPC system is also possible to install(and run)Smartphone applications. Don't be afraid of upgrading. Just beware of bootloader upgrade and you can't wreck it. When the flashing procedure will be unsuccessful, just start the upgrade again and it must working. But read all things carefully about upgrade, what is DOCtools, what is RAMdisk etc. that you can purely understand it.
I've tried it twice and went back to WM2003se twice.
I found it annoying that my camera and record buttons stopped working.
Other than that WM2005 was a nice OS to use.
Pity there isn't a final release for the XDA II.
...
It can't be official for Himalaya, coz the hardware isn't designed for WM5. Especially the memory system(128RAM,32Flash). This new OS has a different memory organisation, that uses Flash for all things including installed software while RAM is used only for running system and apps. Therefore you will need this combination at least:128Flash,64RAM. Himalaya basically offer 128RAM for running(too much)and 32MB as a storage(too low).

I didn't notice any problem with buttons. It is also working the AEBPlus utility problemless. The flashback know I also. Once tried Magneto, flashed back to 2003se. And again and again and again...coz a lot of problems I've had with the system. Then I've studying buzzdev.net and step-by-step solved problems. Now I have it totally and it's running great.
Hi
I'm running WM2005 at the minute, but want to go back to WM2003SE, as I'm having problems syncing with hardware at work.
Only problem is, since I changed laptops, I can't get my XDA2 to connect with my PC at all! I've tried installing latest ActiveSync 4 from Microsoft site on my home PC (thinking there are fewer things to stop it syncing on the home PC), so that I can go back to WM2003SE.
However, 2 problems:
- 1) still can't make a connection with the PC - don't even have the Code 28 problem anymore (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/264693/en-us) as the system installs a Network Adaptor device driver called "Windows Mobile-based Device"
- 2) once I do connect, unsure of how to go back to WM2003SE - thinking I could simply run the Xda_II_172181_Final.exe ROM file that I downloaded from O2 UK.
If anyone can shed any light, would be greatly appreciated. I'm new to this, so go easy on me!
Would like to be able to continue running with my Vodafone SIM once this is sorted.
Thanks.

As I wrote:
>1. I am still unable to connect via USB. I am using Bluetooth. Maybe I need SP2 for WinXP. Don't know. AS4 is using the connection with WM5 little bit differently as 2003se. This connection goes via network connection, not directly. Try this link:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/help/activesync/default.mspx
>2. For flashing another ROM image:Just use HimaUpgradeUt_noID.exe with current OS image file nk.nbf to flash. These files you can download at the FTP of this server. The nk.nbf filename is the same for all ROM images, therefore be sure of version. Copy these 2 files to same directory, put your Himalaya to bootloader mode and start the exefile.

Hmm...
Perhaps i should have a good read of the buzzdev forums and try again.
Other than that I'm going to be due an Upgrade in fecuary so i might just stick with 2003se and get a WM5 sevice when my upgrade comes. 8)
I'm glad i got the XDA II. I was using a P900 but having a pocket PC phoner seems better for me.
...
Well the WM5 system for XDA II will never have an official release. When I was buying my MDA II,I've had two choises(MDA II vs.P900). Some + was for MDA,some for SE. In total that was two equable devices. I bought my Himalaya due the price was a little bit lower. Now the SE-P900 costs in a second hand 200Euro and MDA II 400Euro. MDA II is much better than P900. The hardware and as well the software. Now I know, that it was my good choice to take MDA II instead of P900. Now when it is possible to use UNofficial Magneto is the Himalaya back on the top.

HTC Universal for Sale

Hi Guys,
My office have just provided me with a HTC TYTN, so I am selling my Universal (M5000 branded).
It is unlocked.

Tested with TomTom version 3 - how did you get that to install on a WM2005 device?? - Mike
TomTom 3 installs fine on the device.
If memory serves, the problem was with the Windows side of the installer. It didn't like the newer ActiveSync that WM5 required.
The solution was to launch the installer. Find the CAB files that the installer extracted and copy them manually to the device. There is alot of guides around the internet on how to do this.
Once I had done this once, I (as I still do) keep a copy of all the software I install on my device on the SD card. So I can reinstall all the software and my certificate from the SD Card, without needing a PC. In fact, I cannot remember the last time i connected to Windows with a WM device!
Forgot to say.
I also think there was a problem with no-sound, but there was an updated DLL floating around the internet that corrected the problem, although I don't think that it was official.

newer version of microsoft net compact framework

As above, anyone know how i can update this?
when i try to use some apps an error message occurs stating that i need a newer version of compact framework
any ideas?
search over this forum or google for .NET Compact Framework 3.5 (this is the latest version I know, Diamond comes with 2.0 by default), download it on your PC and install it having your Diamond connected to the PC via ActiveSync. Program will install and automatically generate CAB's for your Diamond, transfer it on the phone and start install on it. Just follow the instructions after that
The problem is i dont have access to active sync at the moment, i use a mac
Apparently theres a way to install it on the phone without active sync?
There is a NetCF 3.5 cab...
There is a search funktion to this forum...
Try this link...
There is a way. Use the cab file. It can be found here in the forums.
First result of forum search for .net compact 3.5 cab
had a look at that one, the rapid share one doesnt work for me and i didnt look at the megaupload one properly, sorry guys!
installing the new network comapact wont wipe anything will it?
just installed it, and it works great, thanks alot!

Java on Typhoon

As my MDA (HTC Wizard) stopped working (looking for a new phone to replace it--perhaps the IPAQ 910), in the meantime I've gone back to my prior phone, the Audiovox SMT-5600, which is the HTC Typhoon, running WM 2003 Smartphone. I'm on the T-Mobile (USA) network.
So, until I get a new phone, I'm trying to configure my Typhoon to work better for me
The SMT-5600 comes with the Tao Intent JVM. I was able to install the new Opera Mini with it. However, I'm not able to do with it any of the hacks I've read about here--like making a shortcut to go right to OM (without the Java screen first), and to eliminate the screen asking permission to connect to the internet. (I guess most of those hacks are for JBED.)
Also, I cannot install either the Gmail app, or the Google Maps (Java version) with the TAO JVM. When I go to the m.google.com site, and download the gmaps.jad, i end up getting an error message from Tao, about not being able to install it. (OT-I also tried installing the WM version of Google Maps, and that wouldn't install on the SMT-5600 either. Perhaps it is only for WM5 and later.)
Anyhow, I am wondering if any alternative JVMs (to the TAO) exist, that will work on this phone? (Menneisys, are you reading?) I tried a few JBED versions downloaded from this site, and haven't yet found one that will install on the Typhoon.
I do have the IBM J9 installed, from years ago, when I originally used the phone. But I have not been able to get it to work successfully. (I have it installed to storage card, and don't know if that is a problem. It is large though, and no room to install in internal memory.)
Anyhow, any JBED versions that will work on this phone (with WM2003), or any that would work better than the TAO?

Trying to upgrade my Artemis (WM6 Official ESN) to TouchFlo or WM6.5

Hi, to everybody:
I have got a HTC P3300 device (Artemis) purchased in Spain in 2006, unlocked, so I've got no problems on that.
It's was updated by me to WM6 Professional (OS CE 5.2.1620, Build 18125.0.4.2) using official ROM for free devices.
ROM Ver.
ROM Ver: 3.13.412.1 ESN
Date: 8/28/2007
Radio ver: 02.94.90
Protocol ver: 4.1.13.44
ExtROM ver: 3.13.412.102
Now I would like to upgrade it to a cooked ROM like Shady's new ones with WM6.5 or another one with TouchFlo but I can't, altough I've tried almost everything. I'm not a newbie and I work like developer so I understand the most I read but now I'm completely lost; let me explain to you.
My laptop has Windows 7 Ultimate (32bit) installed and I know that this OS(and Vista) have problems so I also tried on XP Professional SP2 without success.
I tried to upgrade the device using the exe directly and trough USPL (from this site and others) but nothing works. I always get the same 2 errors; normally when I use USPL I have error 260 (connection) because the device doesn't go to bootloader screen and if I restart the device into bootloader manually, if the update process starts (not always), it reaches less than 5 or 10% returning a 270 error with message "File corrupt".
I read a lots of in this forum and similar ones checking steps one by one, even trying to update/install USB drivers for Vista but nothing works. When I use USPL, screen goes to black and "unkonwn device" plugged in to USB port is detected on the system so I think the problem is the program can't put the device in correct state, but if I activate bootloader by my self "Sync Device" appears in devices manager but I cannot go futher as I said before.
Do I must make a downgraded to original WM5 and start from it (maybe a problem with loader version)or there's anything that I forgot?. If someone knows a link or think that I missed some step, please help me.
Any kind of help would be appreciated so much. Thank you in advanced
Solved!
OK, here I am!.
Finnally I solved the problem. The issue was that I had have to "do a hard reset before" try to update the ROM. I read somewhere that an application locked the device avoiding the ROM upgrade. I just went to settings > system > emtpty memory and since then I was able to upgrade like the posts said .
Best regards

Can you post a link for the WM 6.5 version, i found two files, but couldn't install
in the rom section u can find a few wm 6.5 versions.
unlock your phone with USPL and then follow the installation instructions of the roms posted
shady313 and babbelut roms are the most current ones based on 6.5
neither of them have touchflo support though but babbelut rom has spb shell, a different kind of touch cube system
