memory - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 General

hi people, my 2020 reports that the memory is low and that I should increase the memory, i have wm5 and memory shows that i have total 14.5 mb of storage - free 1.41, and 56.3 mb memory for programs - free 36...
can I somehow transfer those free megs for programs to storage ?
Im not sure but as far as I remember 1010 had some slider for that...
tnx

Use HIMA_DOC_Tool v1.1 for increasing storage from 14.5 to 30MB. search this forum or buzzdev.net

thank you mr shekhar, I ve readed about your ROM but still trying to find courage to try it, until then I ll look for the tool you mention
Best regards and thank you !

May God shower courage on you....

thanx dreamtheater... ;o)
just to be clear...
DOC = Disk-On-Chip
It is a flash chip, where your ExtROM and Storage resides.
Size of them is factory predefined.
With DOC_Tool it is possible to redefine DOC partitions.
Currently, the tool is configured to get maximal size for Storage and minimal size for ExtROM, because the goal was to get the maximal storage size on WM2005.
But it can also can be used other way, or on other devices and on WM2003/SE as well.
As mamaich told me today, he'd like to get max ExtROM and small storage on BlueAngel...
so if anyone is interested, let me know...
i'm actually thinking about some UI with slider to adjust DOC partitions.
buzz

I'm interested about the BA Extrom management
buzz,
this is really a breakthrough in xda development...
great man!
few questions:
1. Can I use this tool on my XDA IIi or this is applicable to Himalaya only?
2. If I use it on Alpine, will my existing 59Mb of storage merge with EXTROM and get a higher storage? Will this Become a persistent storage so I can install programs on it and use the 128Mb main memory solely for runing programs?
thanks
Nice, beautiful, gorgeous, a God's thing, ...
Ok... just a gadget in our Himalaya World.
You're the Best... You're the Man!
Come on, Buzz... cook the newest rom v1.70.
On the other hand, I have thinking to give up from WM5 for the camera.
I want my camera back?

hi yankee ..
about your Q regarding the Alpine .. actually you wont be needing this tool .. since the Alpine uses already the WHOLE DOC or the 2nd Chip ROM and use as Storage..
Extended_ROM is located already in Intel Chip ROM or the first 64MB ROM..

Does it runs on the Xda IIi Bro?
It'll be swell if I could unhide and unlock the Extended ROM and use your DOC tool.
If it screws up and dont work well, whats the effect of damage ?
It doesn't screw up. As long as you follow buzz's instructions, it works perfectly.
I know it doesnt and shouldnt screw up but, just in case... i dont wann my
BA to become a paper weight.

Does anyone know how to do Big Storage on Prophet?

Hi:
I was seaching on forum, but all I find is Magician's Big Storage.
Does anyone success do Big storage on Prophet?
Please please teach me...
Thank you.
push...................
Bump...
Anyone have a resource for this?
do you mean the 47.46 mb storage?
Yes. I've not found any documentation for this minus for trinity or wizard and some on magician.
I'd like to wack the 9mb storage for extended_rom2 and merge it with regular persistent storage.
I'm working on it in 2.20 qtek ROM and no success tell now, I'll try in WM6 maybe it will work
I think it is usefull too, wish me luck
Any luck Chopin?

Storage question

I really don't understand this. Maybe somebody can explain this to me:
according to the spec the htc herald has 128MB of ROM and 64 MB OF RAM.
But where is this storage ?
In the memory setting it says approx 32 MB Storage (Total) and 44MB program total. (Btw, I use TouchIT 2.0 ROM. The size of the ROM (OS.nb) is about 62MB) .
How comes that others mention values of about 50 MB. Why is there such a difference ? And where is my memory?
Thanks for clarification!

Memory

Hello to all,
sorry in advance for my question but I'am a beginner!!!
Is possible to expand the memory of artemis?
I have HTC brand PDA with a WM6 original FW.
My actual memory is
Archive:
total 32.45 MB
used 22.83
Programm
total 47.90
used 26.82
Many thanks for yours answers?
ciao
No this is not possible, the only thing you can do is trying an other rom which uses less memory.

wm5or6 on ipaq rz1710

hi guys i'm new... i was told about the forum from a friend..
after a research on the forum i've got an ananswered question...
it's possible to install wm5 or 6 on ipaq rz1710??
thank you
i'm sorry if there is another similar question but i haven't find anything using seach function
No, there is absolutely no way to do this.
rz1710 have only 32mb of RAM memory.
WM 5.0 and WM 6.0 needs more memory, because it is using new memory system.
For example on WM 2003 SE I have 63mb RAM memory, but on WM 5.0 only 49mb RAM.
32 - 14 = 18mb
In other words, you will have 2-5 free memory for programs.
thank you guys..
