why when my displayy goes off and after a few minutes later, when I switch it on again(keyboard slide closed) it rotates frm landscape to potrait, where it should be all the time in potrait. why does this occur?
Thanks,
Mr_GTI
If the case you use has a magnet in it, this can cause this to occur, as the orientation is determined by a magnet in the keyboard.
There are other causes and solutions, perform a search and you will be rewarded with answers.

I have a HTC wizard, with the latest ROM upgrade, but I have a problem. I dont know if this is related to the latest iMate ROM, but when I put my screen in landscape mode it rotates the screen correctly.
Only when I open and close the phone again, the screen is rotated back again. I want to keep the screen on landscape mode.
Is there a way to keep it on landscape and avoid this 'bug'?
it's not a bug, it's a feature
And no - nobody has any ready solution. Would probably require hacking the keyboard driver to stop the call to change the screen orientation. Either that, or have a TSR running which continually monitors the screen orientation and switches to Landscape if Portrait is detected. That would be a lot easier, but such battery more
Weird, because when you select that option "Settings->System->Screen->orientation" you would think it would be a permanent thing .
it would be if it weren't for the fancy slide-out keyboard and the fancy people behind it who thought it would be a good idea to automatically change the orientation to Landscape when slid out (which probably IS a good idea) and back to Portrait when slid back in ( which is a good idea if the device was in Portrait when it was first slid out, but not a very good idea if it was in Landscape to begin with %) )
its just lazy design.
That is really too bad. I found a hint which file to pach : keybddr.dll, but I dont think I can do that
Guys,
First off - Way to go Mods - its great to have a TyTN only forum at last!
Ok my problem is -
When i 'awake' my TyTN, the screen is sometimes in landscape mode, even though the device has teh keyboard shut and is being used in the portrait mode.
Is this a part of teh infamous alignment bug? And does anyone know of a fix?

As far as I know, this seems to happen when the device is being used with the case. It seems that the magnet in the belt clip makes the phone go to landscape.

aaah....now that would make sense. it seems to have started when I used the case.
I like using a case. Are there any recommendations for adecent replacement?
Thanks for helping out fella!
Been using the case since got the phone.
Sometimes it does indeed be in landscape mode when I take
it out, but it always reset to portrait mode as soon as I get it out.
Happens to me too.

err... I don't get it... why is this? why magnets?
The magnets activate some sort of a magnetic switch that is normally activated only when you slide open the keyboard. So if you happen to bring any magnets in close proximity of the wizard, it changes orientation.
The case that comes with the wizard has magnets in it, so if the yshould be really close to the case, the screen orientation tends to change.
Why when i turn on my device (herm 200) from standby, the screen is in landscape (i switch it off in portrait) and change to portrait?
The keyboard is ALWAYS closed!
This is related to the magnet of your case. It disturbs the position detection.
Try another case, without magnet, or live with it.
As far as I tested; those magnet are *maybe* also able to "auto answer" the phone (I had this issue with the default HTC case) or to randomly turn on/off the phone (I have this issue with my new case, with a magnet placed at another place).
So, in my opinion, just avoid cases with magnet.
many thanks! infact sometimes all goes ok!!!
Now i try to carry it out without case and see what's happen
I have just changed some parts of my SPV Wizard with an O² one, and my screen don't change automatically to portrait/landscape anymore when sliding the keypad.
How can I solve this issue? Anybody knows about the sliding mechanism?

as far as I know it's a reg.+hardware setup....but you can assign a button to rotate the screen for the time being
Thank you for your advice about assigning a button for screen rotation. That helps me for now.
What do you mean exactly by "a reg.+hardware setup"? Where can I find more details about this issue?
Magnet missing?
Did you have an extra part at the end? Most flip phones use a magnet to tell the phone when the phone is opened or closed.(I wanted speakerphone while the flip was closed on my Motorola MPX-220, this and any-button-answer was a sweet deal when only one hand is available -example..driving-)
