I've got english ROM but would like to be able to use some other dictionaries (in addition or instead of...) like norwegian and/or swedish.
I've been searching this forum for "add xt9 dictionary", also under other WM6.x devices like Diamond but have come up with nothing useful.
It seems like HTC Diamond and others use "eT9" dic's and the registry keys referred to does not exist in X1
HTC= HKLM\Software\Tegic\....
X1=HKLM\Software\XT9 Input Method\...).
The only regkey that exists in my X1 under XT9 Input Method is "IMEmode=0".
- Anyone with a swedish ROM that could check their registry settings here?
- Does anyone now of a way to add or change xT9 dictionary on X1?
- Anyone with a swedish ROM who could send/PM me the "mssp2.lex" file located on root in folder "Windows"?
I have the Swedish rom, i also only have IMEmode 0 there.
OK, if you have the swedish ROM you also have the swedish dictionary. Could you pls copy and PM or e-mail me the "mssp2.lex" located in folder "Windows"?
Anybody with a swedish ROM who could send me the "mssp2.lex" file located in folder Windows\ ??
If so, pls pm me and I´ll send you my e-mail address.

I'm not sure but this site might help you?
Thx for the reply but it did not hlp me solve the problem. The thread is not applicable for Xperia. Neither of the mentioned registry keys are on the Xperia.
However it did help me in realizing that the *.lex file would not solve my problem sinse it apparently is only applicable for spellchecking (?) and is not used for the predictive text input appearing when messaging (?).
...so the question is now back to what the thread says: how to change or add a xT9 dictionary to Xperia??
Looking through some other threads for other (HTC) devices on this forum most of them refer to a "...Tegic\eT9..." path in registry which also does not seam applicable for Xperia.
All I have in registry is HKLM\Software\XT9 Input Method\IMEmode = 0.
Which files controls xT9 ??
An up for this problem... I am unable to change the dictionary used by the hardware keyboard. Actually I have Jack ROM, but would like to use my own language dictionary... any useful idea?!?!
I will coock my own rom for my HD 2.
I'm looking for a kitchen how can i chane the packes and modify the windows files.
I have try Virtual Kitchen by ervius. But the ervius Kitchen ask me for a Device ID, how i can get this Device ID??
Then i find OS Kitchen. It don't ask me for a device ID, but the rom how is created dind work smooth.
When i extrakt a original Rom (O2 Germany Rom) and don't modify this (Start OS Kitchen, import the rom and directly press create rom) and flash this rom have i the following bugs:

Hi there,
The best way to get help is to go over to the Chef Central forum.
WB
how are the url of this forum?
Under google i find many xda forms, but witch of this is the right one?
regarts!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=612
Try a little bit harder next time, and I´m sure you´ll find it yourself.
i don't wanna appear to be newbie bashing, but let's be honest, if you can't put "chef central xda" into google, there's no way you're gonna be cooking roms any time soon.
Hey there,
i'm currently using Ginger_HD2 and the language is set to german. It is very cumbersome to type a sms, email whatever, because i have to type every word letter for letter ...
Expressions like "Ich = I" or "Auto = car" are not included in that dictionary, but they should?! So is it possible to install an .apk or sth to have the german wordbook? I don't want to save every word first, to get the word completion.
2. im often changing my builds, and i wanted to know whether it's possible to keep my wordbook with the expressions in it, and istall it on the next build?
Big Thx
no ideas? this would be really great!
isn't here a file or a folder which i can replace with the existing one? The ginger keyboard is only giving me english proposals, but i need the german ones
thx
I have the same problem. I know that theres a fix that included removing a file that puts your phone in a first setup kinda state. And that would fix the dictionary problems. I forgot what the file was however.

Very new with this Forum
I have downloaded 5 cooked ITA ROMs and tryed them. Nice, very nice and useful, much better than official one.
BUT
until now I have not found some facilities:
1) Why is not possible to add T9 dicionary on other languages?
The original TIM 6.1 ROM has 5 languages for the keyboards.
2) Why is not possible to simply paste information from Contact in the body of the messages instead of attaching the Vcard?
3) Why the SMS messages with Vcard attached must to be sent as MMS?
I have looked everywere in the preferences and in websites/Forum/wiki.
Thank
RMR
As your questions are generic and not related to "rom development" I have moved this thread to General Discussion forum

Well the platform was not that much mature at that time and my phone was lacking many features. With time it matured and evolved. This AWESOME! Its seems to be working flawlessly on my Nexus One on CM7 nightly rom. Will update more observations soon. God bless you for this.
Aside : I wish others with programming skills would make such amazingly meaningful apps instead of eye candy themes. I hope I learn android programming soon.
Can I see your permissions from your manifest file? LOL
why you need that ?.... anyway... here is list of permission:
android.permission.GET_ACCOUNTS
android.permission.READ_CONTACTS
android.permission.WRITE_CONTACTS
android.permission.READ_SMS
Contact saved from received vcard goes into 'phone only, unsynced' group. This cannot be synced with Gmail.
Can you please provide options to choose where/which account to save the contact in?
This would make it perfect!!

i am the only with installation problem?
from the device : there was error parsing the package
from adb install..
/adb install aha_signed.apk
1397 KB/s (109332 bytes in 0.076s)
pkg: /data/local/tmp/aha_signed.apk
Failure [INSTALL_PARSE_FAILED_UNEXPECTED_EXCEPTION]
tried to resing the apk, dosent help at all..
google about that and found that may be:
android:versionName="1.1"
can lead to problems (something about digit, which is not understood as digit etc...)
How can i modify AndroidManifest.xml ? ( i have found java -jar AXMLPrinter2.jar , which can "decode" it, but did not found how to "encode" it )
p.s. trying of android 2.1 (aka eclair) "stock" version

I think you have installed earlier version and now you are trying to install it without un-installing it.
try this:
adb install -r aha_signed.apk
if it doesn't work then un-install it manually and then try...
Good luck
sorry, that didn't mention that
it is first install
have tried the reinstall option too

Hey, another request.
Am using this on Nexus One with a CM7 Nightly Tom.
Currently you need to scroll to select the contact you wish to send.
I use the search key, it pops up, but it does not register any entries and therefore cannot find the specific contact.
Can you please include a search option?
Thanks.

There is very easy work around for this.
Open Contacts App -> search contract -> menu -> share -> select "Share Contact" app -> You get the contact in "Share contacts" Application
Please let me know if it works for you
