UPDATE: Bluetooth GPS & TomTom3 issue

I still have some trouble with the mentioned combination and thanks a friend I managed to narrow the cause to the combination of TomTom and the DConnex:
I am unable to confirm in TomTom GPS the 'Bluetooth GPS' port when I have paired the DConnex.
I am able to confirm in TomTom GPS the 'Bluetooth GPS' port when I have paired a Globalsat BT-308 BT GPS (and NOT creating a serial port!).
Only way to get the DConnex working in TomTom is to pair is and create a serial port. In TomTom you have to select COM5.
The configuration on COM5 works with TomTom as long as there is a BT Connection. When there is NO BT connection, the MDAII hangs upon starting TomTom.
With the 'Bluetooth GPS' configuration (=not possible with DConnex) TomTom works even when there is no BT connection!
As I did not find any answers here, on xda-developers.com and with TomTom Support, I guess I have to live with this situation.
STILL: Any help / sugestions are greatly apppreciated!!!!
I have the dconnex 230 and it works with my XDAII, I can't help you at the moment because the dconnex stopped charging and I've sent it for repair, but if you still got problems when it retruns, I'll detail my configuration.
xda-rocks:
My DC-230 does work with the MDAII.
But in TomTom ONLY when I create a serial port (during bonding) and assign COM5 in TomTom GPS (V3.03).
Is that your config too?
Or did you manage to use the 'Bluetooth GPS' port in TomTom (maybe without creating an serial port during bonding?
I would like to have the latter config as that makes it possible to start TomTom without a BT connection to the GPS.
Like I mentioned: I did succeed in getting this config running with another BT GPS.
Plz note: This is about the Himalaya with latest T-Mobile ROM (1.72.190, but with add-ons) with the DConnex DC-230 (rebadged Holux GR-230) BT GPPS!!!

IGO2006 not finding bluetooth gps

am having problems with IGO2006 finding my bluetooth gps and Imate Jasjar, tried using wm5 gps manager, franson gpsgate and igo does not find my gps, works ok using tomtom, can anyone suggest anything please?
contact the software suppliers of those particular applications ensure they are wm5 compatible, and you are using the latest app.
gps on wm5 has caused significant problems for many, but if you have tomtom working, then the device appears to be working.
There's absolutely no magic to that. Pair with your BT receiver, create/assign an outgoing COM port (COM0 or COM8) and then specify that port in iGO or anby other GPS program. baudrate is not important, but 38400 is the default.
Try this "WM5GPSPatch.CAB":

Works for me with iGO

Both GPSGate and VisualGPSCE don't actually see the outgoing com I create there, although TomTom does. Does anyone know why?
Some programs don't handle a COM0 but all should be able to see a COM8. Make sure to uncheck "Secure connection"
Just tried again with a no name BT receiver on COM8 and iGO finds it just fine.
The tip about COM0: worked, changed to COM4: and all works OK.
Changed TomTom to COM4: too and all working as well
Many Thanks

Cannot pair GPS BT with my QTEC WIZA200 and TTN5+WM5!

Hy guys,
I have a QYEC WIZA 200 and I have installed a TTN 5.21 with WM5.
I have paired the GPS BT into the BT connection and put it on the COM6 with secure connection. It looks it is paired.
Once I go on the TTN menu I select other BT GPS then choice com6 but no connection. It looks that TTN5 doesn't see the GPS.
Any idea how to solve the problem ???
Many thanks
MIKA
TT5 and BT GPS
What's the name of your BT GPS - when it has been identified?
It MUST end in GPS...
Charlie Grillo
I use BT-GPS 338 with sirf star III. It is strange that the PDA but a question mark ? before the name of GPS BT. It is like it cannot understand what kind of device it is.
The GPS BT instruction says to set up the connection speed to 38400 but I do not know where to set up this.....
Thanks

yes,
in the devices tab = :?: NAVMAN GPS ONE
in the COM ports = NAVMAN GPS ONE (COM6) & Incoming Port (COM7)
Thanks for the help!
I have this GPS device working fine on my Wizard.
In Bluetooth settings, on the devices tab, i have "? NAVMAN GPS ONE". If I select this I then have Serial Port seleceted.
On the COM ports tab I have only NAVMAN GPS ONE (COM6). This has worked fine for me for a number of months.
Hope this helps...

WM6 Bluetooth GPS NIGHTMARE!!!

HELLLP upgraded to WM6 on my BA and now my i-Blue GPS reciever wont sync up and TOMTOM cant even see it im gonna scream and cry has anyone got any ideas??? PLEASE PLEASE help
My BA works fine with my GPS receiver (make sure you added it, and assign COM port to the incoming port). Then I use TT6 with COM6 and it works just fine.
Some people uses the GPS application in Settings, but I did not.
now that used to be the case however i no longler have the ability on the menu to choose the BT ports on TT6 i have in this order..
BT UART
SERIAL CABLE ON COM 1
COM 9
IR ON COM 3
and thats it theres some missin:S any ideas??
also its just not syncin up like it used to with Wm2003 Grr
Try to assign to your receiver COM 1 or COM 9
Sometimes it is the GPS application that doesn't know how to use the external GPS management program.
Go to Settings -> Connections -> External GPS, set the two ports to "none" and uncheck the option to manage the ports automatically. Reset the device and try to choose the same port you have chosen at pairing.

Wow! it works great man!! thanks kerio (and gang)!!
This is kind of bit off-topic, but since you're talking about bluetooth GPS on a Blue Angel I wanted to ask: how well does it work? As I have do not have any sense of direction at all, I've been thinking about buying a Bluetooth GPS receiver, but can a $35 GPS really be accurate and work well? Will any BT GPS receiver work? What kind of software do you use on the PDA? Thank you!
hi, set the gps hardware port (com6) in the external gps settings. set the new outgoing port in the blutooth settings (com6) and in the TT6 set the com6 in other nmea gps. it works.
