US number format, how to change - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam General

I'm sure this has been answered several times, but couldn't find anything in the wiki (google search) nor in the forum. Most likely because I'm using the wrong set of words.
Latest ROM upgrade has introduced the american style number (212) 456-453 etc. How do I get rid of this? Tried to change regional settings but no luck.
Any help appreciated.

It seems to default to that format but when I enter non North American
format numbers they do show up correctly when using the " - " as the
space between routing, prefix and area. Then again my X01HT is having
other issues which everyone can fix and I had working up until I hard reset
the bloody thing.

Set your regional options in Settings -> System -> Regional Settings, and choose the right country. That will solve the issue - certainly did for me!
Edit: Just read that you tried that, and it didn't work. Ah. Erm, could be an issue with the ROM? Sorry I've got nothing more helpful :-/

after couple of resets and a power on/off it worked. Thanks N2A.

Please I need help I can not dial ...
my rom: Energy.BLACKSTONE.23542.Sense2.5_with_MaxManila.Mar.05.7z
Please stop posting duplicates in different threads, it's not very polite.
As someone else already pointed here, this question should belong in the ROM's thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=562952&page=763
Anyway..... I've scanned the last couple of pages and didn't find anyone reporting problems with dialing. What's your radio version? (start > settings > system > device information)
You might need to get a more up-to-date radio, check the wiki: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Blackstone_Radio
After flashing the radio it might be a good idea to hard reset.

Help from rom chefs - disable Encryption option

Looking for some help from chefs who would probably know this, I installed the stock T-Mo US rom provided by xmoo but the Encryption option in Settings is checked and greyed out so cannot be unchecked.
Can someone tell me the registry setting to change, searching the registry using SK Tools showed several keys but none seemed to give me the required option. Thank you.
No one can advise on how to fix this? Checked the registry under HKLM\control panel and nothing refers to Encryption.

[Q] Apn Issues - Darky's ROM 10.1

Hey forum,
I know a lot of you would of heard stuff like this before, but after flashing Darky's ROM I'm having issues with APN. I have tried multiple times to access mobile Internet, and I noticed I have no access points. I have tried to create access points as I have been given the info on how to access Virgin's internet, but each time I go to save it, nothing saves, it stays blank. Anyone have any ideas?
Yeah it's a problem with JVO/JVH itself. I also had that problem. The trick is to not touch the MNC field when entering the apn. After that it's all sweet. So even if MNC is shown as 029 do not go in there and change it.
Hope that helps
try restoring to default apn then proly nothing will happen but you will be able to save new once after... worked for me...
solve
u can solve this problem when u flash the dark core 2.6 kernel
it work perfect with me
(sorry for my english)
I have the same problem.
I'm not running Darky, I have stock JVP, with CF_root
I did restore to default and I never changed MNC
Name, APN, APN Type are the only 3 fields i modified, and it still will not save
Any other ideas?
Can you send mms?
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
No, I also need an APN for that.
Got an answer that seems to make sense, haven't had the chance to test it as I'm in the office for another 4/5 hours.

Apparently re-flashing new firmware with an old CSC meant for your region should do the trick. Follow the link for more info.
If anybody is still interested, I did as advised in the link I provided above and it worked. Basically I downloaded an older firmware which had the CSC for my region of the world, and flashed the CSC alone to my phone through Odin, no pit no repartition.
It worked perfectly fine and I didn't lose any of my data or apps.
Good luck.

[Q] Russian Menu Problem

Hello there,
I've just bough Nook Simple Touch for my friend. But when I opened it I've seen that its language is Russian. I've searched Google and looked every part of its settings and I couldn't find language settings. How can I change its language to English?

Sounds like it's been "russified" in a past life (is it used?). The NST is quite popular in Russia and a lot of work has been devoted to customizing it there. Seems to me that a factory reset is in order.
You can also try this if you can connect with ADB:
Code:
am start -n com.android.settings/.LocalePicker

OK, so pretend it is "fried" and you need to give it a complete memory transplant. There are a number of ways to restore the factory image. Maybe the easiest is to make up an SD card with NookManager on it. You don't need GApps or anything else and you don't have to root (unless you want to). There is an option in the initial screens of NookManager to restore the factory image. Try that.
The navigation for factory restoring with NookManager is [No, continue without wireless > Rescue > Restore factory.zip], in case you were wondering.
