Was wondering if there was an app like Ringo that would allow you to select which ringtone you wanted for the phone and sms and so forth?
Ringo doesn't seem to work on my Wing.

You could try MortRing v0.992 or mring v4.03.
Some people have these working on WM6 & some don't.

I'm looking for any software that can do what SMSOrnagizer or smart inbox can do i.e hide/unhide sms, set sms ringtones for different contacts etc. Are there any alternatives which work on the wizard/wm5.0?

smsOrganizer is now avaiable for WM2005!!
does any1 know how this guy makes his program send u a msg telling to the d/l the latest version when you try using the program?
ie i went to start smsorganizer today, and it doesnt start, but comes up with a pop up asking to check the website for the latest version...
how does anevemkovacs get the program to do that ?
does he have access to control the program even though i haven't been online for months...

i am using ringo to assign indvidual tones to my contacts but i have a problem..sometimes when my phone rings i hear a very low ringtone..infact most of the time. its not for a specific caller but for almost all..as i have just assigned 2 tones to 2 callers..(tried removing them also..still problem exists) Tried re-installing still no use..i hope this doesnt have anything to do with WA and WAD..or tweaks2k2.net
Please help..
wm5 has its own contact ringtone program inbuilt, why use another non tested program?
I can only presume that you dont have a universal and are therefor posting in the wrong area.
Fire Butice, i do know that window has its own ringtone assigning program but i am using this software basicaly to assign individual SMS TONES.. n hence use this utility for contacts also..
any 1 facing the same problem..please help..
do not use Ringo...
try photocontacts or Mort Ring...

Do the ring tones you want to use work OK in Media Player.
I have a similar problem with my O2 XDA Exec and someone told me to run the following cab file in the extended rom and this fixed it perfectly.
Enable_VT_RTPlugin_0727_2_signed.CAB

My problem is when assign mp3 tone for sms, it dont play the whole song... only like 3-5 seconds... why?
i'm looking for a good program to assign custom sms tones to individual contacts. wm5 doesn't support it, i've used mortring. it seemed to work for a while but then started glitching and would cause an error message and play the default sound rather then the custom one. Ringo worked pretty well but it was kinda laggy and i didn't feel that it was good enough to buy. any recomendations? i'd prefer free solutions cause this is a simple feature that should have been available in WM5 to begin with. Thanks.
What about custom ring tone for voice mail?
I wanted to change my default notification to the AOL "You've got mail" mp3 file I have. I don't see an option for that on my xv-6700 wm5 device!

just copy the file to your windows directory and it will appear in the notification list for you to change it

Does anybody know how to make SMS look like for example in Outlook, just classic view where SMS are arranged by date (newest on top)?! There are SMS tweakers on WM phones which anable to switch between classic and conversation style... but i found nothing yet for android!
I guess you will need to make your own app for that. Maybe theres an app that has that option. I don't know about this but u might try handcent or chomp.
i just found appl. called SMS Tray Lite which almost fullfilled everthing i wanted...

Is there a profile manager program for WM like in Nokia phones?
Different profiles for different persons or actions.
I mean if I want the phone to ring for one person but nobody else or if I want to hear sounds for sms but not for calls.
Is there any program for this?
