My qtec S100 is broken... I can connect it to my pc and i really need to have the contacts on my pc for backup.
I've tried ActiveSync but that doesn't work cause it keeps saying i haven't installed outlook.. but i have so is there any other way of backing up contacts working from te PC.
And can i open it with a text program on my pc to see the numbers?

Check your firewall settings. Somebody had the same problem a couple of days back - he had blocked Windows Explorer from accessing the internet (sensible), hence the hassle.
If you are able to sync, you should be able to see. I assume you arent a first time user and I dont have to tell you how to explore?

Solve the PROBLEM!
Simply Reinstall the Active sync & that works fine!.
Error in installation of Active Sync.
If any other brother have this problem try to reinstall the Active sync.

I had a crash on my MDA II so I had to make a reset. After the boot process and installing all the standard programs I connected it with my PC. But I was not able to use an old partnership.
So I have to configure it all again
How can I use the old partnership that I must not reconfigure my MDA II?
PS: Yeah I forgot to make a backup
why do you need to use the old patnership?

I thought with the old partnership all programms will be installed automatically.
And is it possibly to make kind of a backup with active sync to restore everything with syncing after a crash?
if you have set activesync to backup
and you hardreset
and connect the device to the pc
and pick guest
and pick restore from <insert old patnership name here>
your device will get restore it settings and programs

I need a little help.
After a crash I hardresetted my Hermes and then used SK Tools to return to a backup point. But now when I try to activesync I get a message on my PC saying that the mobile device has already synced with another PC and it requests a new name for this PC.
I haven't synced with another PC. What should I do ?
When I restore from a hard reset, I normally delete the existing activesync partnership and set this up again with the restored device. Did you delete that partnership?
how can I delete existing partnership ?
In activesync on the pc just go File->Delete Mobile Device.
At least that's how I do it

I guess I found it. I enter Activesync software on PPC and delete the relationship there...
I have upgraded my BA to WM6 but when I tried to sync, the error prompt keep comes out "insufficient memory" and ask me to reset my BA. However, after reset again and again .. still could not sync.
Any clue ?

how much Active sync Version??
Please Use Active sync 4.5
it is MS ActiveSync 4.5 already.
Another problem is when I switch the BA into serial mode, the activesync could not recongnize the connection and I could not downgrade it back to WM5 .... pls any help ?
1. did you kill the AS processes on PC before cradle the phone?
2 did the serial from the phone screen has change to USB on connect to cradle?
Try disabling the firewalls...
I have the same problem. I check memory on the phone and the phone memory is virtually nil! I have installed everything possible into th e2GB storage card and I think the problem is the size of the mail file. I have my attachments already sent to the storage card but can you also send the mail messages there too? - or get memory memory...??

First of all i really want to thank all the Helmi_c and all the developers; My BA is most updated running wm6.
Well much better than wm5 but I have some issues:
1. cant sync it with my PC in anyways (BT, usb etc), USB drivers are not working correctly.
2. sometimes when i pick or dial a call, i cant hear nething.
and last but not relevant to this, guys how do i stop my BA slider from falling down when I use keyboard.
1. Try delete the actual partnership in AS, sync again; if not reinstall AS on PC
2. No problem here with the sound.

I upgraded my XDA2s, customized it,backedup, then upgraded my brothers XDA2s and used my customized backup on his XDA2s.
Now my XDA connects fine, but his doesn't !!!
Both our XDa2s's are identical in everyway.
tried a hard reset and restore from another backup and still no luck!
we were trying to save time re-installing the same softwares.
tried deleting partnerships, no luck. tried spb backup and clone, no luck.

Do you get any error messages on AS? Can you browse the internet from device?

can anybody post usb drivers i think this is the problem cause my device isnt installed properly it says problem with inf file.
whoever is able to connect his device to xp desktop via active sync usb connection, please copy the drivers folder contents from program files in active sync folder.

Is your windows firewall enabled? Since WM6 activesync makes use of a LAN connection to sync with the PC, you must allow activesync trough the windows XP firewall, or disable the windows XP firewall completely...

did you try to install WM6_SoundFix_.cab ?
