I did the registry tweak to add "wireless" operator/WiFi and BT icons to my today screen. Everything looks great but I was wondering if there's a way to add those icons to the sys tray (like the battery and comm manager icons).

Use PHM Tools, or if you're foolhardy, VJTrayLaunch.

Hi:
I have a Cingular 8125 and I am trying to get more screen real estate. I recently saw a reg edit where you could remove the taskbar icons for the battery and wireless manager, however those registries don't seem to be available on my phone. Anyone know any secrets to get this done??
Also, I am trying for an all black background and in my theme generator, the bottom and top bars are black, but when I install them to my phone, they are grey. I am using theme generator 2.0 and TKCreator, but both don't work for me.
Thanks. Dan

Remove the init_tray from your start up folder - \windows\startup\
You may have to soft reset afterwards.
there's
idcnobar
that removes the bottom bar (which indicate what the left and right softkeys are used for)
it complete removes it, but the icons dont shift down till you slide your keyboard out and back.
The Comm Manager icon is still there.
I did remove the listed shortcuts from Startup and the conn manager icon still insists on being in the tray.
Original WM6.1 taskbar icons (phone, battery, connection, bluetooth etc.) still look pour. I like customized taskbar icons like TsowenTaskbar or MisfortuneTaskbar (http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=54514). But the problem starts after installing WA3. It has it's own themes, but not for all icons and additionally some of them have not full functionality. WA3 also disables some skinned taskbar icons and all together looks awful.
Is there any way to keep WA3 functionalities (like start menu and icons of running programs on taskbar) and leave all skinned taskbar icons? Maybe some "transparent" theme for WA3?

I just installed the official ROM for Topaz which brings us Sense 2.5. Now, I have changed all my icons on the whole phone to new ones but when I add one as quicklink in Sense it just shows the default one.
What can I do about this?
ArtieQ, you can find the icon path for the quick links in File Explorer->Application Data->HTC->ProgramLauncher. Those override the icons in the start menu. That would be one place to start. You could try deleting the default icon there and the icon you are using in your start menu should work. Be sure to backup/copy the default before deleting it.
The icons that don't show up is not in the ProgLauncher folder, why's that? Can't seem to fix this..
The way I've done it in the past is to delete the icon in programlauncher. HTC presets those icons to appear in quicklinks for the programs listed in that folder. All other programs use the icon in the startmenu. If you install new icons, they will not go into the programlauncher folder. So, if you see the icon you installed in the startmenu try deleting the associated default icon in programlauncher. For example, I wanted to use the google maps icon in the startmenu instead of the default one used by HTC in quicklinks. So I deleted the googlemaps icon in programlauncher and it then defaulted to the one in my startmenu.
I installed "QuickMenu 2.8" in my PDA, but the battery icon overlaps to the clock on the taskbar. How can I shift the icon (clock or battery, or another)?
Tnx everybody!
Do not know how your taskbar looks like......What I use is Battclock......http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=612083 .....which displays battery and clock above each other but various customizable options are possible. Basically it can cover current icons to give a better look.
Yes you can change position of icons via registry.....see attached example under 4.2 location http://touchlockpro.sourceforge.net/BSettings.html#4.10 ...but I warn you it is quite some manual work......
But you don't knows were could I found the registry value of the wm6.5 tasbar icon? becouse i don't wanna intall the taskbar program raccomanded by you.
Apart from the link I sent you I have not an overview of where to find registry for all other icons you want to move. Did it myself for the battery only.....
But your battery icon was installed by your program...isn't it? If I'll Know where is the value of my icon battery about "Quick Menu" Program, I've resolved my problem!
See if you have in registry HKCU\software\quickmenu. And than you have to find an X or Y indication for position of battery icon......play around with these values to see if it works. Note: soft reset after every change.....
I tried it...the key exists but inside there's nothing that calls to mind the X or Y Icon battery value....sigh!
