Every time you sync your phone after flashing, it will create a new profile. You can re-use the same name if you erase the profile in Activesync (File->Delete Mobile Device) prior to connecting your phone for the first time. You will also have to rename your device to this name (Settings->System->About->Device ID->Device Name).
If you upgraded your Activesync recently, there is a chance you will not be able to re-use some of the old profiles you had in the previous version. I had this problem and I had to uninstall Activesync, and manually erase all traces in the registry.
I hope this helps.

How can I see all files & folders is any option I miss?
Thanks
Check your firewall settings
Hi Sohail
Check your firewall settings. Somebody had the same problem a couple of days back - he had blocked Windows Explorer from accessing the internet (sensible), hence the hassle.
If you are able to sync, you should be able to see. I assume you arent a first time user and I dont have to tell you how to explore?
Cheers
Sands
Solve the PROBLEM!
Simply Reinstall the Active sync & that works fine!.
Error in installation of Active Sync.
If any other brother have this problem try to reinstall the Active sync.
I had a crash on my MDA II so I had to make a reset. After the boot process and installing all the standard programs I connected it with my PC. But I was not able to use an old partnership.
So I have to configure it all again
How can I use the old partnership that I must not reconfigure my MDA II?
PS: Yeah I forgot to make a backup
why do you need to use the old patnership?
Sorry I totally forgot my post here. Very stressful last week.
I thought with the old partnership all programms will be installed automatically.
And is it possibly to make kind of a backup with active sync to restore everything with syncing after a crash?
if you have set activesync to backup
and you hardreset
and connect the device to the pc
and pick guest
and pick restore from <insert old patnership name here>
your device will get restore it settings and programs
thx i will try that
As the topic says, I can't change it. Actually I can, but as soon as I sync, it changes back.
I goto settings/about/device id/ and change the name. At the same time I delete the device from activesync (via file/delete mobile device). As soon as I connect it, It says it has found a new device, then changes the device name to WM_my_name1. I don't want it have that name.
I have tried uninstalling activesync, hard-reseting my phone and still no luck. Any ideas?
Hi,
I have a question and I can't find the answer anywhere.
I just flashed my phone to OzROM 2.40 (21901) when I use active sync it syncs only my past appointments. No future appointments, recuring appointments, contacts and mails are synced?
I thought maybe is was my radio so I went back from 2.10.50.19_2 to 2.10.50.08_2 this doesn't do the trick.
I flashed back to my previous ROM (L26LEOV1.1_GoldEdition_177_WWE_21899), that didn't help also. Both times did a hard reset after the flash but now luck.
Who can point me in the right direction? I puzzled? Before everything worked ok.

Thnx for replying! I checked all the settings I could find. I don't use activesync on the PC. I can connect to the exchange server directly with my mobile. All worked fine until I upgraded this morning.
I went back to the ROM and radio I had before and now those won't work either...:-(
I'm desperate because I need my work e-mail and contactlist on my phone.
It's getting stranger and stranger. I can see holidays in my agenda I can see some (by far not all) of my appointments?
Just formated with Task29. After that went to the bootloader installed a fresh ROM. (OzROM_245_23563)
Still no active sync. No error, just doesn't download anything to my HD2.....
Try uninstalling ActiveSync. Then go to Explorer and manually delete ActiveSync directory. Then install ActiveSync again. It might work again. I had this problem once.

Hmm, I'm having this problem, too, so I want to try your solution. I must ask though, after deleting/uninstalling ActiveSync, where would I find it again to reinstall?
Any help? All I need is a quick reply that tells me how I can go about reinstalling activesync.

I don't use activesync on the PC, I sync with our Exchange server directly.

Sorry, don't know anything about Exchange. I only know an option 'exchange' appears in ActiveSync when Pushmail on the HD2 is active.
Posting this so maybe other people can profit from my experiences.
The last couple of days I've been strugling to get my HD2 synchronized again with Outlook on PC after flashing a new ROM. Never had problems getting Active Sync running after flashing.
Just so you know......I'm not a noob, I've flashed new ROMs many times, and YES, I also do a Task 29 before flashing.
Anyway, after flashing the latest Energy ROM, I tried to connect to the PC again, but WMDC (Windows Mobile Device Center) just showed a big red cross with a nice comment that said: ERROR. I could see the HD2 in My Computer, could access both the Device and the Storage Card, but I was not able to set up a Partnership to be able to Sync my Contacts and Calendar.
I started troubleshooting, looking in the Windows Eventlog, Googling for Active Sync / WMDC errors, and tried all things below to get it to work again:
- disable Fast Data Sync in ActiveSync on the HD2
- deleted the Windows Mobile Network Adapter and the HTC Leo devices from Device Manager, and let them install again
- uninstalled and re-installed WMDC
- Soft Reset of the HD2
- Hard Reset of the HD2
- Did a System Restore in Vista to a point BEFORE flashing the ROM
- Flashed to other versions of the Energy ROM (including the one that was on the HD2 when it Synched without problem)
Nothing worked, so I was really getting desperate because I need my Contacts and Appointments
I then dug up my old HTC Wizard which connected without a problem
So, it had to be something in my HD2, it couldn't be the ROM because the same ROM worked before.
I didn't sleep very well last night, constantly thinking about this problem
Then this morning it suddenly hit me........
I've been using XDA-UC on the Energy ROM, but I realised that since the last time I flashed a new ROM, I had included an XML file to setup my GMail Sync via Exchange (created by Makisu).
I deleted the XML file from XDA-UC, did a Hard Reset, connected to my PC and YES !!!!!!!!
I have now established my Partnership and synched my Contacts and Calendar succesfully.
I also manually added My Exchange settings for GMail and that's working too.
Maybe it's time to start using Change Management for my HD2 so I won't have problems like this in the future
Anyway, hope this may be of help for other people that have Activesync issues.
