i have the c800 with rom 1.7 , i would like to upgrade to newer version at 1.8 but at 2 % was stoping with note : INVALID VENDOR ID
Can somebody help me to this problem, i would like to upgrade to wm 6 and need the radio version more than 2.71 instead the original asia at 2.69
This lowest version make the signal always keep searching on gsm..with wm 6 os , really sad for this problems..hoping somebody can help this problem
Invalid Vedor ID means that your device is CID-locked, so you can only flash official ROM's to your phone. You can however unlock your phone at imei-check.co.uk.. BUT a person has already bricked his device with this, because it did not work properly! At this tim of speaking there is no alternative for CID-unlocking.

...i have an Herald to. The OS was in finish(i think)...the only way i found to write an WWE OS...wrote to IM CHECK.CO.UK...in same day send me the application for my IMEI to unlock. I made the unlock under Vista Home Premium...now i have a brand new WWE OS in my HERALD.

While the phone is on, press the soft reset button with the stylus while holding the camera button. You should then see a tri-colored screen(this is the bootloader mode, to exit simply soft reset again). What version does it say next to IPL? If it is 4.0 or higher, you need to flash HardSPL, found here. Don't do it anyway if your IPL is lower than that, it will turn your phone into an expensive doorstop. If you do have the right IPL, then proceed to flash the HardSPL, then choose your ROM and install it. However keep in mind, you won't be able to install any official ROMs while HardSPL'd. But official ROMs suck anyway.

(removes SIM/NETWORK LOCK - use any provider, removes CID lock - flash any firmware)

CID unlock is not the same as SIM unlock.
if we talk about imei-check service they do the both.

I think if you're able to flash your device with a ROM from HTC, DOPOD or O2... its CID unlocked...

Duhh... wouldn't it be better to find out before trying to flash any ROM? Suppose you think the device is unlocked but actually it isn't, then you might end up with a bricked phone.

If I had the original T-mobile Rom then I would've just taken the risk but I don't and that's why I'm a little worried.
I'm still looking for it but it seems like it doesn't exist anywhere!
If anyone can help me out then I'd really appreciate it.

T-Mobile ROM
The original T-Mobile ROM is available on T-Mobile website amongst many others. I really dont think there is another way to confirm you have CID-unlocked your set, unless you flash it.
Though the report of many who have used imei-check seems to suggest it gets CID-Unlocked

I allways thought it would be possible by running the mtty program. Wasn't the command Info 2 for getting the status? Correct me if I'm wrong.
I haven't tried it though, because my phone is certainly locked and I don't want to pay for getting it unlocked.
info 2 and info 4 do not work for the Artemis.
Guys thanks for your replys. I've managed to track down the original Tmobile ROM for the MDA 3 (thanks to some guys here). so now I'll be using imei check to unlock it, once done, I'll go ahead and install any ROM other than Tmobile and if it works then I'll know my device is CID unlocked. If it doesnt then I have the Tmobile ROM to fall back on.
Hopefully it will work otherwise I'll be getting in touch with imei check immediately!

Well, finally I get my device running up again! Unfortunately I wont publish it, maybe I will charge for total solution.

I bricked mine and have just ubricked it. Its easy, connect USB to PC, enter bootloader, run any RUU wizard.
* Enter bootloader - Press and hold the camera key, then press the soft reset button. Hold the camera button until the bootloader menu shows it. You will see 3 different gradient colors.

I think, it's a good idea. Actually I thought about something like your thread but if you don't mind I will say something in your thread.
I've got the same problem as you've got. Moreover, I've seen a lot of users posting on this forum, which have got such a problem with their Heralds. They boot only in tri-color bootloader mode and even RUU dedicated to our models doesn't work, saying Error 300. When we are trying to use MTTY to run getdevinfo command, as a result we can see error message. That's why RUU can't check the right CID in our devices.
All known solution for Heralds don't work with our problem. We should develop or wait for being developed by someone (Olipro,pof,mestrini,...) suitable solution. There are fine solutions for bricked Wizard or Hermes so it should be the way to unlock our Heralds, too.
My idea is to count all users with bricked Heralds to see the size of the problem and to show our great developers on this forum that it is important to find a way to unbrick our Heralds. Or maybe we should establish the prize for the person who will be the first in finding the unbricking method and than donate him? I think it could motivate some of them...
So, all bricked Herald's users, please leave your post in this thread, to show the world that this is a huge problem!

Forced RUU? I know that the Univesal has an RUU to bypasses any and all checks and just starts flashing the ROM. I wonder if this would help... I assume the IPL is still fine unless it was overwritten in your devices because it's in a different memory address in devices with an SPL lower than 4.0.0.0. We would have to create our own RUU, though.
EDIT: After some research, this will not work. If the radio was damaged but the radio bootloader was not, there might still be hope, if the radio bootloader was damaged, then it's a no go.
Ive tried with Bepe's RUU (Polaris Premium BEPE ROM) but have no luck... maybe i should try to patch IPL/SPL in RUU check

Unless HTC releases its new rom for X7510, we need to use a cooked versions. Then we need to have it CID unlocked, as I assume. OliNex group has best knowledge about this. Lets ask them.

Unfortunately, according to the website Ameo 16GB/HTC x7510 etc. isn't supported, since this isn't an official HTC offer but some Chinese or wherever they come from company - just like the one in Ebay, if not the same who offer their unlock-service for "older" products on the market.
So in short, still no (official) ROM update for the "new" X7510 at this point..maybe in five minutes.

I got HTC Advantage X7510 (T-Mobile AMEO 16GB) which is SIM locked, after
boot up it shows "you have tried 15 times, please wait until
timeout", I tried with the ROM upgrade still no luck as it's showing
the "No Service". The phone is booting properly and all the other things
work except call facility.

"No Service" and now reverted it back to
RUU_Athena_HTC_WWE_3.27.405.3_1.58.00.00_Ship.

My Device gets only into the bootloader mode. When flashing the original ROM from DOPOD SEA WM6 WWE SHIP, it gets to the progress screen and @ 0% the RUU gives the Error 300.
Tried the SD Card flash method also, no luck!
I beleive the CID area is corrupt!!!
I had downloaded a tool to change the splash screen image, didn't used it, but by mistake the EnterBootLoader.exe (SPLJump) got executed and screwed the device
Been through the forum, but no help at all

it may be original rom,but does it have correct cid
1.you can get right rom by registration at manufacturers site
2.you can download one from wiki or forum,but in this case you will have to cid unlock your device,you have to download artemis uspl from artemis upgrading thread and than flash any rom you want,just be carefull to flash a rom that is for artemis,because flashing any other rom will brick your device
3.uspl the device and flash the rom you mentioned

I have the original ship ROM "P800w_SEA_ENG_WM6_Upgrade_20070713", even that fails with the same error message.
My device is already unlocked using the artemis uspl and I have used several ROMs earlier!!!!
anyone with this fix? I am getting the same error on my friends artemis. No help hitherto solved the problem. I wish if someone could really get on to it & get me the solution.

I sent my device to HTC service center and go it resolved. That is the only thing which worked for me after a couple of weeks searching in the forums and no solution. But the HTC SC buggers replaced my device entirely and gave me back an old **** device . So also keep this in mind. you won't be sure, if you get your original device back after the so called repair. HTC SC in India is super *****y, had a bitter experience!
Now I have moved to TD2, know that I was at loss, but am happy to have a shiny new TD2

yes,in a first time the phone seemed to work,but on the windows rom screen it crashed,now,it doesn't go further the smar mobility screen =(

ok i followed CyZeeK's guide (i can't post the link)
i found that my device id it's ELF010050 and the CID ID it's HTC__405 but i have 2 problems:
first,che only rom compatible with these ids it's for an elfin,when my phone it's an elf;
second,ruupdate sad that this elfin's rom it's corrupted (and it doesn't say that it isn't compatible =/ ),and now according to ruupdate all the rom's i downloaded are corrupted =/
