Hi all ,
My work computer do not permit install Activesync, so I use a bluetooth adapter to transfer data to PDA .
My question it is possible to change the destination directory to storage SD card?
Every time the data goes to "my documents" in the the main memory.
Anyone can help me?
Thanks
have a nice day

Yow! we have related problem here. Why developers ignore this? I think this is somehow a major problem. It's a good thing that you can transfer your data to your PDA via bluetooth without a problem. Nweiz, I have a problem right here, for example, you have to download a data using bluetooth which is above 10mb but your storage (which is the buffer zone of the data) is below 10mb, the data now is unable to complete the download. I suggest that the buffer zone can be the RAM disk which is unremovable (unlike the SD Card) so you can download higher quantity data and then you can transfer it in your SD Card later. but i don't know how to do it or what 3rd party software i must install?
Please help! Tnx!

WHen i attempt to transfer files to my Wizard it freezes. The file size is 300mb to my 1GB SD card. It is a movie and whenever I try to copy it from my PC to the phone via USB it freezes.
I have only been able to transfer small .cab files and .mp3s....
What can I do to fix this besides buying a separate reader?
Do you have a SD card slot on your PC? Or a Card reader device? Try to take out the MINI SD, plug it in to its SD card adapter (if you have it) and copy it directly on to the card. Then place back the MINI SD card in the device.
It is quite difficult to say if it is your USB connection or active sync, your PC or something else ...
In case you do not have a card reader:
Maybe you have WLAN? Try to copy it via wifi then ...
Yep,
lots of choices, lots of possibilities - and lots of things which can go wrong!
how would i go about copying it via wifi?
Quite hard to explain if I do not know what hardware you have (such as wireless home network, router, accesspoint) and if you have experiences in setting up wireless connections (infrastructure if router / ap exists - ad-hook if not).
In case you do not have any experiences it would be too difficult to explain anyway. You might want to check your USB? What ActiveSync version are you using? What Windows version ...
You see: there are a lot of components and information needed in order to help you one way or another! Never forget: people who are trying to help on here know only as much about your problem as you post ...

Heh i have wifi all setup I have verizon fios. I can connect via my phone to the network thought maybe i had to do a certain procedure. What i did though was upload it to my ftp then connect from my phone and transfer it like that. While it was time consuming ti worked at least.
Activesync version 4.5, windows xp. I'm probably just going to give in and go buy a sd card reader tomorrow.
Hello,
I'm using egress to download podcasts over wifi or usb connection to computer. In either case it is take a very long time to download. 10-15 minutes per 25mb file. I have them download directly to storage card. The card is not bottle neck as I frequently whip large files to it through my card reader on the pc.
Are there any suggestions as to how I might speed up these downloads? On my axim the same podcast from the same server downloads in a minute or two.
Thank you!
Josh

Sounds like you just answered your own question. AFAIK, nobody has been able to speed the USB connection to a storage card. It's hell. Period. WiFi should be better, but not dramatically so. Your best bet remains ejecting the card and loading it up that way. It's so much faster, I don't know why anyone would bother with another method. (Of course, it helps that I have an SD chip slot built into my lappy.)
I have a weired problem. I recently purchased a Toshiba 4GB SDHC (SD) card for my P3400i. When I access any application, which is installed in the SD card and requires an internet connection to function (such as Opera, Profimail etc.), it initializes the connections and then hangs the system. Only a soft-reset is the option left, after that. When I was using a 1 GB card, had never faced this issue.
Whereas, all the other applications such as games or any other, functions fine. The only problem is when an internet connection is required.
Anybody faced a similar issue? Please suggest a solution.
Has this problem been solved,...
I have a similar kind of problem with my p3400i gene. using a 2GB SD card for 6 months but for sometime now it hangs while connecting to internet or downloading someting on it.
Thanks
Aj
Try and format your new memory card i use 2gb from 6 months has no probs. Note:- use yr pc or laptop to format memory card via a card reader......regards GAURAV....
thanks gaurav for the suggestion but i have done that 2 to 3 with my laptop and there is no change , it works fine wth all the applications but when i use opera mobile or download something it hangs andwith soft reset only option
MTP Driver Issue
Ok i checked the issue after reading all the post here and there at sony erricsson forum and found it quite strange that connection failure occured for many people. But another thing that make me mad is having that MTP APP application that became bigger and bigger and now reached 9 mb in a week for me... Having those kind of data stored on internal memory where we want to save as much space as possible is something sony Ericsson need to patch/correct.
Ok here is what i found:
I tried deleting the data of the MTPAPP to check if those data are optional and could be deleted safely... Of course not :/
After deleting them the phone couldn't connect in media transfer mode anymore ... in fact the first time it was detected but no files was shown in explorer
I tried a reboot of the phone but this time nothing. the Xperia play is available on 'printer and other device' but nothing on My computer and of course i can't access my files via Media transfer.
The only way to access is using the usb mode mass storage... so i tried to reboot another time and still nothing
I thought that i needed to restore the phone (factory restore) to be able to get the data i deleted back...
But there is another way to solve the issue and quite easily.
You need first to launch pc companion on your computer (optional)
Then in the phone go in settings > Sony Ericsson Menu > connectivity
Enable install of PC companion and be sure that the usb connection mode is set to multimedia transfer mode.
When it's done disconnect / connect your phone to your PC
IT should start the installation of the driver again like if it was the first time.
After a little while you should see your phone appearing in explorer and browse into your folder without problem.
You can go and check you app MtpApp in the application manager that is now > 6MB
The data are in fact installed on the device (xperia play) too in the process.
That's why it could fail...
The two device are in fact needing some files to be able to share information.
My sentences are sometimes not really clear but they are understandable (i'am french that's why)
I hope Sony Ericsson could figure out a way to put all the necessary data in PC only but i'am not sure it's possible also please do something about the size of this application or move it to SD with a new update...
Sony should correct easily the issue by updating pc companion on computer
Update: After moving my data from internal to SD and installing many apps from the market that i wanted MTPAPP began to act weird. The Xplay was instable and seems to lag... When i checked the process he was taking 95MB of RAM and the mtpapp grow to 11.5MB in internal memory...
So i cleared it again and did the process to connect the phone and now i'am fine. The process is getting nothing in ram and 9mb in memory (for about 100+ apps and games)
Kill MtpApp first

I needed to kill the MtpApp and then clear the data. Worked after that.
Is anyone else getting this problem whereby the MTP connection to PC does not show a large percentage of the files stored?
On the phone, all media shows as expected in associated apps, root explorer sees all files.
The problem for me appears to be on my external sd card (its a Samsung 64Gb, formatted to exFat)
I was wondering if there is a way to force a refresh on the PC side?
Barring that, I think the only option I have is to back up the card and re-format it.(which will take me a couple of hours!)
Thanks
