Wizard For sale!!!

Hi everyone, just wanted to say i am selling my MDA Vario on ebay and if anyone wants to put in a bid or wants to buy it off me from here can contact me! here is the link:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/MDA-Vario-XDA...9121813110QQcategoryZ3312QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Don't need the Vario now i have my MDA Pro. I also have a MDA III (Blueangel) that i am wanting to get rid off but has a few minor faults so if you are interested please pm me.
(sorry, i accidently posted this in the universal forum)
I might be interested however it looks that you are selling it in UK only
sell it to vijay
Vijay!!!!!
Hey Vijay, so i've been told to sell my Wizard to you! Do you want it?
Get back to me man!
haha.. I was mostly teasing - but he's in the UK region and has been asking (also teasingly, really) for a loaner so he could develop some utils for the Wizard which currently don't work on it (but work on his Universal). Not too sure he'd be willing to part with some cash for it

XDA Exec, Qtek 9000, JasJar, etc. Which one to buy??

I am new to this and am getting ready to buy. Was set to buy JasJar from Import GSM. Then I read that maybe an XDA or Qtek was better due to being newer products and such. Any advice? Anything to watch out for with JasJar? Or just buy it and shut up?
Doesn't make the slightest bit of difference. Buy the one you like the colour of!
They're all identical, and you're smart enough to have found this forum where there are instructions all over this site about how to get the best out of your device.
If you don't like the i-mate software / ROM, you'll find the info on how to change it to the Qtek / O2 / T-Mobile / Dopod ROM, etc.
It / they are all fantastic pieces of kit, so buy one (any one) and stick around here for the best advice on how to get the most out of it!
Thanks so much for your reply! I was hoping that would be the answer.
Cheers!

Vario II, SPV M3100, HTC Tytn or O2 Trion which one ?

Okay guys, heres one for you...
as some of you may know, i currently have a wizard, well an o2 mini-s to be exact, and am due to upgrade, change soon.....
I've have a number of smartphone/pda's in the past starting with the SPV E200, then the E500 then the SPV M1000 (Xda II) then jumped to the XDA Exec, which i sold and got a XDA Mini s.
I don't really want to go to anything bigger than the mini-s and like the slide out keyboard, kinda rules out the xda atom, SPV M600 etc etc
My question is, what is the main difference (apart from colour) of the 3 main hermes devices marketed at the minute.
Is anyone better than the other or is it all just down to bundled software and case colour......
I'm thinking of the SPVm3100 as i like the colour but dunno wheather to wait for o2 to launch the Trion in this country ???
any advice would be helpful.
It is very unlikely that O2 will ever release the Trion in this country, despite what others might say. Do you honestly think that O2 would wait so long?
The Hermes you have in this country are pretty much it, it really depends on what services you want. If you want a locked down device then go for Orange, an unlocked device with very little extra stuff loaded go for the v1605/TyTYN or if you want a device with bugundy go for the Vario II.

Thanks for the reply... locked down can be fixed surely... it hasn't been an issue in any other xda's so far.....
I do know the orange is a good looking device especially in the black... might have to bite the bullet and go back to orange...
I've had the chance to really put the M3100 and Vario II through its paces.
I found the M3100 to be faster and also damn good looking compared to the ugly duckling the Vario.
Almost everything else is the same.
Hope that helps.

Not yet, other than by convincing your operator to do it (unlikely), or by paying £20 to an online unlocking service.

Thanks for that... I had the SPV E200, C500 and M1000 through orange and had no problem apart from i found that the signal strength where i lived wasn't up to much.
BTW Does the SPV M3100 take mini sd or the new stupid sized micro sd..
hope it's mini as i've just had to buy one recently for my mini s.... i've now got a 1gb sd card which is no good, i don't want a 1gb mini sd that won't be any use either
Sorry to say its Micro SD on the Hermes.
Hi,
here in germany the best choice is the MDA Vario II from t-mobile.
The reason is, that t-mobile is the only provider that supports HSDPA (1,8 mbit i think).
Hope it helps,
Thomas

Softbank x01ht V.s. Hermes

Hi,
I am looking to purchase the Softbank x01ht, but i am not sure if i should.
What is the difference between the HERMES, TYTN and Softbank x01ht
I read everywhere and it says that they are all the same.
But the Softbank x01ht is almost 200$ CHEAPER all over.....
Is there shomething i should know? will i be able to upgrade it's OS just like i would to the HERMES or TYTN.......
Please someone guide me through this
its cheaper because Softbank agreed with HTC to "handle" part of the cost...
Is This Right XDA ADMIN!!!!
Can we say now that
Hermes :
Also known as:
HTC TyTN / XDA trion / MDA Vario II / VPA Compact III / SPV M3100 / Dopod CHT 9000 / Dopod 838 Pro / .......SOFTBANK X01Ht.............
Please let me know if yes.....otherwise why not
huh???
the Softbank X01HT, as well as the Docomo HTC HTz has always been known as a "Hermes"...
I believe there are some things about the firmware that can make it difficult to tweak/hack the phone. If you check over in the Hermes Upgrading forum, you'll find a lot of people having problems with the Softbank. They do something to their ROM's to make them particularly difficult to replace.
Oh.. and the keyboard is printed Japanese.. There are normal letters, but all of the 'extra' keys (alt, option, etc) are in Japanese.
ulrik
X01HT although being sold cheaper in internet, but the actual price wheh taken from Softbank directly cost around 80,000 yen plus contract signing charges. I dont think it is cheap, maybe sellers of this X01HT sacrifice some of their money because the 80,000 yen can be paid in parts. So, I think this X01HT in effect is the same price as unlocked HTC TyTn. One thing also, if you unlock the phone via IMEI-unlock, additional 40US dollars added to the cost of X01HT.

HTC-branded Housing for the Universal

Hi dee ho folks, not long regged on the forum and i did search on the forum, google, ebay and the likes before i posted so here goes
Does anyone know where i can source an actual HTC-branded Housing for the Universal? I've been given an O2 XDA Exec FOC from uncle and as the screen's cracked i thought i'd be as well replacing the case as i'll be unlocking it as well
Prefer that to the i-mate JasJar housing - JasJar sounds too like a Star Wars character i prefer not to mention!
Anyone ideas? All i can find is the O2, T-Mobile, Vodafone & Orange housings

AFAIK there's no such thing as an HTC Universal, as HTC used to sell all their phones to other companies at that time. There was no real HTC brand yet. The closest to an HTC Universal would probably be an I-mate or Qtek one, as these companies used to to have the closest ties to HTC.
here you can find different versions http://www.shope2.com/Product.php?cpath=1_171_178 they do have also other parts. buttt it is not cheap.. dont know whether you wanted to invest that money for a old device.
