Cant connect to bluetooth headset. - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam General

Hi Guys,
My Tytn is unable to "see" my bluetooth headset.
When scanning for bluetooth devices, the Tytn is able to detect my computer, and I am able to connect the bluetooth headset to my computer.
Ive tried scanning a number of times, but never get the option to pair them.
Any suggestions?
Also Im still running the same Rom that came with my phone.
Is there any point in upgrading?
What are the benefits?
Thanks for your help.

Dumb question, but have you put your headset in pairing mode?

Absolutely. Ive got no problem pairing the headset with my computer.
I then turn the headset off and the disable bluetooth on my computer.
On restarting the headset and scanning for any bluetooth devices, I find nothing.

I dont know if youve found the solution or not, but some devices have a maximum number of things that can be paired to it. You may want to try reading the manual on how to delete partnerships...

Bluetooth headset problems!

Hey guys. I have an XDA II and the Motorola Bluetooth headset. I gave up trying to use the headset before the updated XDA II ROM as it was very temperamental to say the least. Now I have updated the ROM its much better but I still have problems. If I am dialling out and put the headset on first then its fine, transfers to the headset etc. If I am wearing the headset and then take a call its fine, transfers to headset etc. But if I am not wearing the headset, say it’s in its case and the arm is closed then I get a call, I open the arm and stick the headset on and answer a call and nothing. Wont transfer to headset and I need to use the phone. Not good when driving! Is this still a XDA II problem? Have I set it up wrong or is the headset not working right? Bascially I need to have the arm open on the headset at all times for it to work like it should (like it did on my T68i) and its very annoying? Any ideas?
This is the headset http://www.motorola.com/mdirect/software/ss_html_docs/bluetooth/bluetooth_headset_info.pdf
Thanks in advance
Have you installed bluetooth tools? Unbond your headset then rebond after installing bluetooth tools.
What the best place to get the bluetooth tools from? Sorry if this has already been asked. And are they free??
Thanks
Yeah I did try bluetooth tools but it did not seem to make any difference maybe its just my headset, it was like one of the first Bluetooth headsets out :? I dunno...
You can get Bluetooth tools from...http://www.angeltowns.com/town/bluetooth/
And it seems to be free
Thanks for that.
However, I could not find the settings button, Just a display on the screen. What are the 1 & 2 buttons for??
:?
Yeah the only changes you see are when adding new devices like headsets etc as far as I know. I thought the same as you, went through all the options looking for it hehe. Those two things on the screen are something to do with selecting different settings for bluetooth to conserve battery like always on or auto off. I am not too sure as I removed it when it did not fix my problem!
Yeah, I removed it too. It caused me all sorts of problems with connecting my bluetooth jabra bt200!

cell phone audio on PC

I'm looking for a way to be able to talk on my phone through my PC, using my wired headset. I'm assuming the best way to do this would be to get my computer to work as a bluetooth headset somehow... or are there any programs that do this type of thing?

I seem to recall accidentally doing this when pairing my wizzard to my notebook. if I recall correctly, just bond and select audio services on for the phone from the PC.

Bluetooth Hands free issues with GENE

Hi
I am using Nokia BH-101 with my GENE as BT Handsfree.
I know that nokia Bh-101 is not an A2DP device, but is it possible to listen songs via bluetooth?
Also, I am facing wierd problems: I am able to talk thru bluetooth headset, but after sometime the pairing seems to have some problem and it gets disconnected. Also, my GENE becomes dumb and deaf.. coz I cannt hear any sound on external or internal speaker until I turn off Bluetooth and turn it back on from communications manager.
Can anyone suggest what could be the issue with this BT?? any updates required or some registry setting!
Thanks
Prady
Using the advanced settings tool, disable Bluetooth Audio Gateway Power Save.
Thanks for your reply....... where can i find the advanced settings??? is it possible to do from registry?
Thanks

[Q] Bluetooth Devices Disappear?

I have been patrolling the forums trying to find a solution (or at least a thread similar) to my problem. I made the move from the G1 to the Vibrant in Aug. I was spoiled by it so it feels. I've grown quite custom to my Bluetooth devices being remembered by my phone, and not having re-sync them everytime i want to use them. I'm wondering if there is a fix for this, or is this apart of the Vibrant framework and i just have to get over it? Has anyone else been experiancing this?
Help
Speak now or forever hold your piece. This is a huge nerd farm and im sure we can all put our heads together.
Are you talking about pairing or connecting the device? I only have one bluetooth device with my phone, and the phone has no problem staying paired to it. I do have to reconnect it when I turn on bluetooth, but that's all.
To clarify:
I turn on bluetooth.
My headset is shown on the devices list.
I press it once and it connects.
Device is ready to use.
Once, the device didn't show in the list while BT was off, but when I enabled BT the device was displayed.

What i mean is, I normally have more than one BT device connected. More specifically my BT headset, and my car BT stereo. I used to be able to have both devices remembered in my device list. But now my BT Headset is the only remembered device (and sometimes, it too will disappear. Now i constantly have to re-sync my stereo. However when a re-sync is needed, i don't have to pair the devices.
On my G1, this was not an issue. So any ideas?
I have my laptop, headset, and stereo headphones paired to my phone. Haven't had any problems, they all remember fine. However, I sometimes have to disable and re-enable Bluetooth because I have a custom name for my device, and sometimes when the phone boots it forgets that it has that name and goes back to calling itself SGH-T959. I don't know if this is related... just throwing it out there.

This does help a little. Perhaps because I am still stock, I am having this issue. What ROM are you using?

I've had the problem on stock JFD, JI6, and on Bionix with JAC Voodoo kernel.
I'm having the same problem with my car's BT system. I thought it was my car till I read ur post. What happens with me, is that the car (which should connect automatically) will say that there isn't a phone available. I will then open Bluetooth settings (on my phone) and see that there are no devices listed. After cycling the BT off then on, my car will show up again, and will connect......strange

Exactly my issue. So seeing how i am not alone in the issue, does anyone know a fix or how to resolve issue? It's not a BIG problem, bnut it is annoying to have to re-sync everytime i get in my car, (or send files from my iMac to my phone).
+1 for the vibrant forgetting my bluetooth devices. I'll open my headset and I hear it say, "Ready to Pair". It's not a big deal, really-- all I have to do is turn bluetooth on, then turn it back off and all my devices repopulate. But it is an annoyance.

Check when car bluetooth search for your device, your bluetooth discoverable is on. Hope it helps.
Hit thanks if it helped
