Once my Bluetooth Headset is connected to my Prophet, all my notification sounds come through my Bluetooth Headset instead of the phone speaker.
The sound for normal incoming call works as it should though (through the speaker).
The only way i've found how to solve this problem, is to uncheck the "Wireless Stereo" option under:
Settings > Connections > Bluetooth > i.Tech Clip R35 > Partnership Settings
And then when I want to listen to music through the Windows Media Player, I have to do the opposit.
So, my two questions...
1. Is there a way to map notification sounds to always use the phone's speaker? (or)
2. Is there a small shortcut / Today-plugin that can switch "Wireless Stereo" on/off in one click?
Cheers!
Eric
Yes there is, i use a software called BTAudioToggle, you can place a shortcur to a launchbar in the today plugin, it works fine for me...

Thanks Hybrid, unfortunatly this was a bit wrong...
It seems that this program routed the sounds to the Bluetooth Headset if I wouldn't have "Wireless Stereo".
Hence; it had its functionality when I turned off "Wireless Stereo".
The solution was in the right direction though, but not really right...
BIG note though: It messed up the sound on my normal "Wireless Stereo" mode. So the sound now has a distortion as well.
Ehm but i remember there a software which did the same like btaudio with stereo headsets, but this one costs money. You just have to google, cause i dont remember the name

I found one called BlueMusic: http://www.teksoftbluemusic.com
Could that be the one you're refering to?
BlueMusic unfortunatly got about 99 functions that are more or less useless, packaged in a big memory overhead with nice graphics.
I just wanted the simple on/off switch...
ADD:
I'm running WM6, that's probably why most of BlueMusic's feature are superfluous.
My father got an Aus P535; when he uses the bluetooth headset, an icon is displayed on top, near "start": by clicking that icon, it is possible to redirect or not notification sounds to the headset... I didn't try that on the prophet, but I hope this can help you. bye
@overone: Hang in there...I'm trying to create a solution for one-click wireless stereo on/off..Will let you know as soon as I'm done...
Guys, been trying out a few things on mine AMEO qith BT8010's, it would appear that two reg entries are modified when turning on/off wireless audio.
I have attahced two reg export files bton.txt for audio on and btoff.txt for audio off.
if you look at lines 23 and 61 these are the values the executable will need to toggle. I dont have enough knowledge to code it up but if you know how to by all means give it a try.

I manage to fix the problem temporarely with a retarded Mortscript (my first ever).
But it's hardly the way I would like to have it solved.

I might try to modify my script to do this instead (incl a restart of the service).
That should be a whole lot prettier then my "click-by-code" script...

Oki.
I just ment that I don't know how to help you, since I don't write/read that lingo/api's...
I found an open .NET class in C# that could query the Bluetooth interface.
Unfortunatly, it only seem to have a "getService" and not a "setService".
I am very interested in this solution for the hermes. I linked this thread to the hermes forum.
Thanks for looking into this.

dah54, thanks for your prompt reply, will this not alter anything else apart from allow me to hear my tomtom directions through my bluetooth headset?
Well basically as I understand it you can have a choice, either voice dial, or the ability to listen to everything through the headset, not both I believe. So you'll not be able to use voice dial, sorry.
Typical 'forward thinking' on someones behalf there! - it seem to be a common issue with BT: the hardware is there, the protocols are there - the software however appears to limit everything :evil:

Looks like my initial post was wrong. I have done the following with Voice Speed Dial and Media Player.
I do not have TomTom to try this on, but you may want to try the following.
Start (menu) | Settings | Voice Speed Dial (icon) | Application (tab) | You should find TomTom listed here, scroll down until you find it and highlight it. Tap the red record button and record a voice tag for TomTom.
Now in theory you should be able to launch Voice Speed Dial from your headset as always. Say "TomTom" and Voice Speed dial will launch with your headset connected to it. Note you may need to push the pause/start button to get audio.

Hi!
I've been reading a lot of these forums about activating A2DP with a mono-bluetooth headsets, and found (in different places) some different ways, (change a couple of registry settings and with some pocket pc/headset one had to change a file called BTAGExt.dll)
I have made a CAB file for these hacks and also included the file "BTAGExt_new.dll" I call it _new because I change the registry to locate this new file instead of the old, that way one doesn't have to overwrite the dll file and can, if problems occur, change in the registry instead. The file is needed for some (me included) that are having trouble with music playing in the headset for about 10seconds.
Anyway, i have made a self-installing cab file for this, so that other people may use it easily, without need of hacking the registry, one does not need to use btaudioon and similar program to make this work,
EDIT: AS many people pointed out, here are the instructions to USE this , sorry for that:

It is nice to see my little hack being used
BE AWARE:
*VoiceCommand DOESN'T WORK!! (since my cab disables it in favour of all-sound in headset)
*I take NO RESPONSIBILITY if this crashes your phone or anything else, USE IT AT OWN RISK!
* It only changes this things:
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Bluetooth\A2DP\Settings]
"UseJointStereo"=dword:00000000
"BitPool"=dword:0000003a
"MaxSupportedBitPool"=dword:00000050
"MinSupportedBitPool"=dword:0000000e
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\Builtin\BtA2dpSnd]
"Priority256"=dword:0000003c
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\OEM\VoiceCommand]
"LaunchApEnable"=dWord:1
"VoiceCmdDuration"=dWord:15180
And copies this file: BTAGExt_new.dll to \Windows (or whatever windows dir you have)
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Bluetooth\AudioGateway]
"BTAGExtModule"=string:"BTAGExt_new.dll"
Then do a soft-reset and voila, the sound should work.!
This worked great with my X01HT and Motorola HS850.
I used this too with my Sony HBH-60 bluetooth mono headset and it worked perfectly for me too .
Much better for listening to podcasts while in bed!
(no more strangling myself with earphone wires! )

I am not sure, but I belive that if you uninstall it it should go "back" to normal.
otherwise, the "normal" would be
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Bluetooth\A2DP\Settings]
"UseJointStereo"=dword:00000001
"BitPool"=dword:0000003a (this setting just changes the soundquality)
"MaxSupportedBitPool"=dword:00000050 (this too delete if not wanted)
"MinSupportedBitPool"=dword:0000000e (and this, delete if not wanted)
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\Builtin\BtA2dpSnd]
"Priority256"=dword:0000003c (delete if not wanted, better quality)
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\OEM\VoiceCommand]
"LaunchApEnable"=dWord:1 (KEEP!)
"VoiceCmdDuration"=dWord:15180 (change to 30seconds or whatever, dword:30)
And copies this file: BTAGExt_new.dll to \Windows (or whatever windows dir you have) (delete this file!)
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Bluetooth\AudioGateway]
"BTAGExtModule"=string:"BTAGExt_new.dll" (change to BTAGExt.dll)

Thank you very much.
I use the audio to bluetooth feature with skype as it would otherwise send the sound to the loudspeaker, which, in a public place is not really convenient.
Now, with the code to "on" the sound and the code to"off" it, maybe there would be a simple way to create an app which would toggle from one state to the other? would you know how to do that ? alternatively, is there some kind of scripting tool for the ppc that I could use ?
thanks in advance,

I believe that it is, at least on my device, but I may be wrong, it was long since I did my cab file. so not 100% sure no,
I was as curios as you, could it be that it uses mono to save bandwith? and thereby increase the range of the bluetooth?
but hey, I am no expert, I roughly took reghacks from around this forum and put together a cab file, I tried to make the cab to produce the best sound availible to a monoheadset, and nothing more, nothing less.
as it were a couple of weeks ago I since I did this i don't really remember every detail of it, but I believe most of this is stated in the hermes_wiki

Mic on bluetooth headset
I wanna know if I installed this file to use something like Skype, can I not only hear the sound from my Bluetooth headset but also speak through the headset too?
How do I get back to normal?
Hoping someone could help me out. I tried installing the file above. The installation process went well, but immediately following the soft reset, I noticed that my phone screens and response to menu picks was considerably slower. My phone locks up all of the time, and I am unable to toggle the bluetooth on and off. I tried to uninstall the application, but I get a message at the end saying that it was unable to completely remove the program. Wondering if anyone could help me to get to the registry and change the settings back to normal. HELP!!!!

thanks
Thank you for the cab/hacks. None of the other alternatives worked on my 8525. Now if someone could incorporate this into someway to switch between modes, that would be great. Right now, I install and uninstall the cab several times a day! I get nervous that the registry will get corrupt from all of the install/uninstalls.
Thank you very much!
Hi!
thanks for all the appreciation about my cab! I am happy to see that others are using it and are happy about it
I also noticed that some people has problems with it,
dhenry88: Try and install it again, otherwise, try and revert the setting yourself, I posted the "original" settings a some time ago in this thread, so go get a reg-editor and hack it
because that is all the cab-file does, changes registry (and copies a file to /windows/system32
however, this file is not important for the os itself (because I change the registry to find the changed file, not changing the file and overwriting the original.
but sorry to hear that it had such bad performance on your phone, it shouldn't do anything like that, but hey, every phone is different.

Indeed this is a great little program and I'm very thankful for it. Like lantern, I think it would be great if someone could figure out a way to switch modes easily as I'm unable to initiate a voice call through my Bluetooth headset with this program installed. I too have to install/uninstall the cab many times each day. I’m certainly not complaining, just expressing a wish.
Hello
I have my p3600 now for three weeks it's perfect but when i use my motorola 820 stereo headset (trough bluetooth ) A high tone is on the backgrond .
I have HTweakc and tried all four types and the high tone wont go away
I personally find that a2dp is best after I've deleted all a2dp settings in the registry, then soft reset.
Thank's bbobeckyj
But where can I vind this registry I don't know wat to look for.
The new dopod rom (the updated one) seems to have fixed my A2DP issues

I my experience trying different roms on both the trinity and the wizard, deleting the whole A2DP folder has produced the best results. I assume that the headset also is a big performance difference for everyone. I think that once you delete that folder, the settings automatically self regulate to the best/optimum.

Hi m8, are u sure you mean the WHOLE of the A2DP folder? Surely it's just the "Settings" sub-folder, as the parent seems to contain device specific data for the headset(s) you have paired?
Even so, I totally agree with the principal... delete all from the "Settings" sub-folder and the A2DP is DEFINITELY giving the optimal quality stereo! (Remember to let the two devices skip etc. a tiny bit when u first kick off a song/media file as they have to be allowed to auto-negotiate the optimal connectivity settings between PDA and Headset... but once that is done, it's pure joy all the way!!)
Cheers, Moz.

Yep. It is the whole A2DP folder. After I pair a headset afterwards, if I look into the registry again, the A2DP folder has been created, with only the settings folder in that. Which confirms that the ppc and headset can create their own optimal settings.

I'm curious, what was your prroblem before? did it skip/pause often? I record all my music with the lowest possible bitrate, so quality is not so much an issue to me. maybe the sound is poor because that is the best your hardware can properly support(?)
either way, can you not you not use the tweak prog to use mono?
Alright
I have deleted the settings folder the high tone looks to be les but I am stil working on it.

it had a high pitch in it, high bitrate and stereo at the same time gives sound problems.
so, or a lower bitrate, or no stereo was for me the solution.

I am using Andots WM6 ROM on my SMT5600 and my phone works better than ever. However, Voice Tags do not work on the phone or over blue tooth. You can create a voice tag but you cannot activate them. Can anyone point me in the right direction to trouble shoot this. I need to know if there is an application that is launched when you hold a button to activate a voice tag? Or, is this a function in the headset or hands free profile? Could it be a simple registry entry I could import from WM5?
Thanks for your help.

I have the same phone & problem.
And I can't charge through USB.
Anyhow, this version improves the typhoon far beyond previous versions. It's faster than wm5, wm5torage is incredible, there are no memory leaks (with wm5 I ended up with 2mb free and had to reboot frequently)
Cheers.

I tried to do what you mention, but when I disable USB charging, there is no sign of charging (expected behaviour) and when I turn it back on, the problem continues.
Last night I reflashed to wm5 so I can:
- Check that the phone still can charge through USB (it charges ok)
- Get the font configuration in the registry so fonts look the same in wm6.
- Try to identify how voice tags work and see if I can take some dll/key association back to wm6.
I'll post results!
Mariano
Ok, I'm back to wm6 and I've found the following:
* USB charging works OK... I don't know what caused it. I'm reticent to install wm5storage, maybe it has something to do with it.
* I made the fonts look exactly the same as wm5. This is how:
In the registry, set the following:
\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\GDI\SYSFNT\
CS=0
Ht=4294967281
It=0
Nm=Segoe Condensed
Qt=5
Wt=400
\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\GWE\Button\StFontWeight\Wt=700
\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\GWE\Menu\BarFnt\
WtMUI=700
Wt=700
\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\GWE\OOMFnt\
Ht=4294967284
Nm=Tahoma
Wt=400
Anyway If you have Tahoma in your device's Windows directory some programs will look different.
Finally, regarding voice tags, I could only discover that there are no links like HomeLP.lnk or things like that to call an executable. It must be done some other way. :S
Mariano
With regards to bluetooth voice dialling, ive now got the phone responding to the button by changing oemagw.dll but voice dialler is not launced, it just connects to the phone so you can hear it. Does anyone have a copy of microsoft voice dialler so i could test(an evaluation copy)?
Used this cab to get it this far

Thanks for your help.

With regards to bluetooth voice dialling, ive now got the phone responding to the button by changing oemagw.dll but voice dialler is not launced, it just connects to the phone so you can hear it. Does anyone have a copy of microsoft voice dialler so i could test(an evaluation copy)?
Used this cab to get it this far
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=308247
I ad to re-pair devices after doing this.

Just to note this works now. just delete pairing after cab install, pair again, set as handsfree, itworks over bluetooth.
Thanks!

Now voiceTag is working fine. Great!
Found a way to enable built in voice tags over Bluetooth.
Ok, I have found a fix to enable built in voice tags over Bluetooth on the SMT5600 with Andots WM6 ROM. Create this registry entry and you will be able to activate voice tags by pushing the action button on the bluetooth headset. I have a new problem though. When you create a voice tag it is not clear and hardly legible. Can anyone help with this?
Browse in registry to:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Bluetooth\AudioGateway
Create a new DWORD Value and name it “ Capability “ give it a value of “ 37 “ all without quotes. Save and reboot the phone and it will work.
Please let me know if this works for anyone.
Thanks for all the help.

Help with what file WM6 uses for voice tags
Can someone please tell me what .dll or file is used when you record a voice tag. I am using Andots WM6 ROM on my SMT5600 and voice tags do not work. I want to try to replace the non-working file with a WM5 file.
Or, maybe someone could tell me how to figure out what file/.dll is used. I’ve searched the registry for anything referring to voice tags but I found nothing.
Thanks
The first is A2DPSwitch. I wrote this a while ago and posted in the Kaiser forum. Posting it here because I made some changes and think some here might find it useful. It simply toggles the connection to an A2DP headset. Simply run the exe and if connected it will disconnect. If disconnected it will connect. The new changes are that now it checks to make sure BT is on first, and turns it on if it isn't. The other is a fix. Before if there was a non A2DP headset and an A2DP headset in range sometimes it wouldnt work. Now it always finds the A2DP headset. Useful for those pesky car head units that don't automatically connect A2DP. The cab will place a shortcut in the start menu.
The second is BTKeepAlive. An exe that runs in the background and checks to make sure BT is on and turns it on if it isn't. The checking interval in milliseconds can be modified by changing HKCU\Software\JKing\BTKeepAlive\Interval (DWORD). The default value is 60000 (one minute) and if that reg value does not exist 60000 will be used. BTKeepAlive 1.1 can now also keep discoverable mode on. Set HKCU\Software\JKing\BTKeepAlive\KeepVisible (DWORD) to 1 and BT will be kept on invisibility mode. The default is 0. I know there is a mortscript written to do this but I would prefer not to leave this up to a mortscript. Also, BTKeepAlive will automatically check immediately after the device is woken from sleep. Run BTKeepAlive.exe to start it and run BTKeepAlive.exe again to terminate it. The cab will place shortcuts in the start menu and in startup, and will create the reg value.
While you're at it, why not assign A2DPSwitch to the long press of a volume key?
[/Shameless plug]
Now back to working on X1BC. Cheers!
Thanks. It's a must for buggy HTC bluetooth driver across all their devices. My Kaiser and X1 always drop A2DP connection after phone call, and it would not happen on my Asus P525 on Eten M600
why is it after i have installed it, it doesnt seem to run? it just show a blank icon and doesnt do anyhting. its for both programs.

The programs do not have interfaces. BTKeepAlive will just run in the background. click on it again and you will get a notification that it is exiting. A2DPSwitch toggles and A2DP connection. Do you have a wireless stereo headset?

I thought it was just that the Windows Mobile bluetooth stack just sucked at A2DP. Did either of those devices use the broadcomm/widcomm bluetooth stack?

P525 use Widcomm but M600 use MS stack as well.
I have just purchased an X1 and have the problem with bluetooth turning off constantly. I have downloaded the .cab files and unzipped them, but the setup file is an .xml file and there are no instructions.
I am prety new to this stuff and dont fully understand.
Could someone please give me some setup instructions.
Thanks

A cab file is an installer that you can run directly on your PPC. Just copy the cab file to your X1 using Active sync or by copying it to your storage card and open it on your X1 using the file explorer.
Thanks JKingDev, the Keep Alive is a real improvement for me!

That is strange that you must keep bluetooth on visible for your head unit to connect. Sure, I will add a registry value "KeepVisible". If the value is 1 btkeepalive will keep visibility on.
Ok, version 1.1 uploaded. Set HKCU\Software\JKing\BTKeepAlive\KeepVisible (DWORD) to 1 and BT will be kept on invisibility mode. The default is 0.
Hey JKingDev,
great work!
I've already tested it. I changed the DWORD to 1 and now it keeps BT visible
Thanks a lot!
Great set as usual JKing
i really like your apps, installing almost all of them on my phone
Thanks mate

Hmm, I am really not sure why that is. It should be in add remove programs as "Jonathan King's BTKeepAlive". How did you install it? Did you manually run the cab or did you use something like UC to install? To manually remove, stop the program, delete the shortcuts from \Windows\Startup and from \Windows\Start Menu\Programs, delete the program from \Program Files\BTKeepAlive, and delete the reg key HKCU\SOFTWARE\JKing\BTKeepAlive.
confirmed with my x1 too btkeepalive keeps on bluetooth all the time!!!! great work!
JKingDev, may i make a request ?? hmmm ! could you create a deamon that when the handsfree from your car connects the deamon would activate a2dp ??
this would be a killer deamon !!! like you said that car a2dp is a pain ...
This script works perfectly, thank you so much! My HTC Diamond disconnects bluetooth randomly when paired to my BMW bluetooth so hopefully it'll work as well in my car as it does when I toggle off bluetooth manually. One quick question, if I set the dword to 1000 (1 sec) will that have any impact on my battery? I'm hoping not as this is such a tiny program but I really have no idea.
