Wifi question... - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam General

I have a question regarding Wifi. Does the Wifi disconnect if the phone is put into sleep mode??
Mine disconnects until I turn it back on. Afterwards, it goes and connects to the Wifi network again. Is this normal?

Automatically disconnect Wifi with a timer?

Wifi disconnect when the phone falls asleep... Then if I'm using a service like MSN, when I turn on the phone, it connects a data connection to reconnect before Wifi is ready.
To combat that, I set wifi to be on while the phone is sleeping. The problem now is that if I forget to turn Wifi off, it will drain my battery in hours.
Is there a way to turn of wifi with a timer? Lets say that Wifi is set to disconnect after 15 minutes after the phone falls asleep?
U can use a profile manager like gprofile and set to activate a profile with wifi turned of.

Connect to WiFi network timeout?

Hello. I'm sure that this must have been discussed but I cannot find the answer using search. As is surely normal, I use WiFi within the home and GPRS when there is no WiFi available. If WiFi is connected and I go out for a short while, then when I get back in a WiFi area, the WiFi is still connected. However, if I go away for a long time, and GPRS is used for perhaps a regular weather update, then the WiFi disconnects and has to be manually reconnected upon return to home. This leads to GPRS being used in a WiFi area unnecessarily if you forget to re-connect WiFi. Is there a WiFi connection timeout value or any other setting that can be changed? My old TyTN II did not have this problem. Thanks.
Try this CAB
It disable disconnecting WiFi when phone is in sleep mode and with this phone automaticly connects to WiFi when Leo will be in range.
Thanks Franq_23_pl. I think that the CAB just stops WiFi disconnecting when the device is in sleep mode. That will just drain the battery, surely? My old TyTN used to disable WiFi when in sleep mode, but as soon as you switched it on again, WiFi would be enabled and it would connect if in range. The problem with my HD2/Leo is that if I am away from my WiFi for some considerable time (ie, most of the day), then when I get back home and switch the device on, WiFi is disabled, and I have to manually toggle in on. So my question is..... What are the circumstances that cause WiFi to disable itself, and Is there some way of stopping it happening?
OIC now. I think you having some battery saving app and this app turning off WiFi when iz not used. What apps or registry mods you have installed on Leo?
You have the same behavior after hard reset?
My Leo don't disable WiFi. When i go outside (for ex to work) and back after few hours my Leo connecting to my home wireless network automaticly.
I remember, that i had the same problem like you and it was caused by app, which had duty to save battery.

WiFi won't turn off or connect.

Every so often my WiFi won't connect to my home router. Seems to happen after i leave for some time then come back home. I can see the network but cannot connect or turn off the WiFi. The only way for me to fix it short of a reboot is to turn on airplane mode turn off WiFi then turn off airplane nice. Anyone else experience this? Otherwise the phone had been perfect.Stock non rooted.
There is already a thread here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3247645

Those issues are not the same. This thread is not qn issue of automatic connection, it is that the wifi cannot connect or be disabled because something is wrong with Marshmallow.

Wifi - disconnecting when phone is sleep. Need help.

Hello, I've got a problem on my G900F, when I turn on wifi, and put it to sleep the Wifi goes to disconnect I need to turn it off and on again to make it works. I've installed "CatLog" and this is what is happening when I turn ON wifi - http://i.imgur.com/VnUSk4h.jpg.
"(HTTPLog)-Static: isSBSettingEnabled false", any solution?
G900F
Custom ROM (but It doesn't matter, Wifi was disconnecting also on stock ROM)
I've installed Latest Modem and Bootloader.
Do you have power save mode enabled or does your kernel? That shuts off wifi in standby
Go in your Wi-Fi settings and there you'll find something like "Keep wifi active". Set it to "Always".
