I upgraded to the new Black rom, now I have gone back to WM5, and I can not get my email set up correctly. I can receive my email, but I can not send. I am using the same settings that I used when I had the Black rom installed, and everything worked perfect. I have even let the device manually search for the settings.....that does not work either. Does anyone have the correct settings for WM 5.
Can someone please help me get my WM 5 email up and running again.

I basically bought a brand new wizard from O2 in Uk, hard reset it, reset when "starting customisation", installed "show ext rom cab" and got rid of all that crap.
got everything working on the pda, software installed, but I CANNOT get MMS to work.
Ive tried cabs off here, inputting manual settings, and I cant get it to work.
Im thnking maybe I need to install something else? Ive got "MMS Configuration..." under the different account menu, which is maybe mms composer? I go to about and it says "mms composer v3.0.7.14" but there is nowhere i can DESIGN an mms???
I had this problem on my old compact when I went bigstorage.
ANYONE HELP
thanks by the way, great site.
why don't you install the I-Mate rom instead - and then just delete the antivirus and skype - so that you have a nice and clean install which works really fast (from experience) - and also works with mms 100%?
surely there is an easier way than reflashing the device with a new rom.
I've got this just as I want it bar the mms.
well it's your business ... however... when you hit the reset button to "get rid of the crap"... you might have prevented some patches from being installed - and sometimes these patches are important for stable functionality.
In any case, I agree that there must be a way to get the MMS working without flashing the ROM, however I just feel that the I-Mate rom without hitting the reset during boot and with all the patches - will probably serve you better.
However, I wish you luck with your current ROM.
Somebody said the only benefit of flashing a k-Jam Rom on was the wifi G. Not so, after you have done the extended ROM thing on the K-JAM Rom, you have about 5mb more space, and none of the T-Mob rubbish like that horrible pink dialer. The Camera appears to be slightly better too.

Don't do a reset when the O2 extended rom kicks in, let in run and choose a "Basic" install at the menu. You get all the O2 conectivity and MMS App but no O2 active or anything. it does install a couple of O2 apps that you can remove later.
Oh, there are a couple of O2 items in the start up you need to remove as well.
Not perfect but probably an easier option if like me you couldn't be doing with the hassle of a full reflash
well, ive got no o2 cabs on the device anymore, only stuff like resco and the likes in its place
but I made a copy of all the cabs, does anyone know what they are?
And which ones people would recommend to install

I just flashed my 8125 G4 phone from the Cingular rom to the Wizard Love rom, only to find out that I no longer have any option to send or receive MMS messages anymore...And when I go through the normal way I usually would to put in Cingular's MMS settings, the only thing I can do is add a new account to the phone.
Can anyone help me out? Thanks in advance for any and all help

I've never used the Wizard Love rom so not sure what all is on it, but you will find most custom roms do not have GPRS and MMS settings on them. Run this cab on your phone and it should set you up. I keep this cab on my SD card in a folder called Setup. That way I can easily get this back after flashing a new rom or doing a hard reset.
Recently I flashed my 614c with Yevg001s current stable Windows Mobile 6.1 ROM, 20270 v1.4 rev1.2 Standard, as I did not want the Manilla 2D.
I have since been having trouble with the notifications on the device, which I thought were due to having Slide 2 Unlock (S2U2) installed.
I removed that program today and have soft reset my device, but I still get NO Notifications for new Emails.
I have 3 email accounts set up on my device, all IMAP, set up to check every 60 minutes and use the GPRS/EDGE connection.
In the system settings, the notifications are set to play a sound, display a message, flash a light for no limit AND vibrate. All possible notifications.
The same is true for the SMS message notification settings, they are identical.
My device is set to go into standby after 1 minute, as it always has been, and locks the device at this time, using a simple 4 digit PIN through Windows Mobile.
On Windows Mobile 6, it was set up the same, although without the Email accounts, and when I received a new SMS, the device would wake up and display a message, and after 1 minute go into standby again.
With Windows Mobile 6.1, I am not getting any of these notifications, I do not even get a Message Icon along the top of the screen for either a new SMS or Email message. The device does not wake up and display any message, it does not vibrate and the notification LED never flashes orange.
Missed call notifications work perfectly! Upon receiving a call, my device wakes up, displays the number of the person calling. If I do not answer, it becomes a Missed Call, the notification LED blinks orange, and permanently blinks orange until I unlock my device and clear the notification.
Is this because there has been a conflict with settings for S2U2 which are still in the registry causing problems?
Or is this a more fundamental problem with Yevg001s Windows Mobile 6.1 ROM that I am now using?
Please help, I would really like to be notified when I receive ANY new message, either SMS or Email, with an icon on the screen, a vibration and the notification LED blinking orange!
If I need to change any registry settings that's fine, but I would rather not reflash my device again unless absolutely necessary!
Thanks,
DW
This is really, really odd. I'm using exactly the same ROM and I get my notifications just fine, though I've never installed S2U2 on this device. Did you restore any registry settings that you made before you flashed the new ROM? Did the notifications ever work, or did they stop working at some point after flashing your 614c?
It turns out it is because I had edited the registry to remove Outlook Email from my message inbox list using the instructions here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=368812
I hadn't ready the entire topic, so I hadn't realised it could cause problems with the notifications.
I have since replaced the registry entries I deleted, and all notifications work fine again, even with using S2U2, although having it set to Lock when Backlight Turns off does cause some problems, so I just don't use that setting.
Thanks,
DW
Hi May I know where can I get the said ROM "Windows Mobile 6.1 ROM, 20270 v1.4 rev1.2 Standard"? Please let me have the link to download.
Thanks.
If you read this forum post, it has many links to the new ROMs and where you can find them: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=425536
DW
Yep I read them, and I also have downloaded all the ROMs available at the given site: "http://matrixmen.free.fr/pocket/ipaq/roms/", but seems like it doesn't have this ROM: "Yevg001's WM 6.1 20270 1.4 Rev 1.2 Standard" in it right? :s
Are you using that ROM too?

Check Zoltair Wright's post made today. He gives the download links to both the Standard and Manilla 2D versions of Yevg001s WM6.1 20270 v1.4 rev1.2 ROM.
It is the top post on page 20, here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=425536&page=20
Hope this is what you need. I have been running the Standard 20270 ROM now for a couple of weeks trying it out, and can't find anything wrong with it, it all works fine.
DW.
Roger that. Actually that's my latest installed ROM on my 612c, didn't know that it was what I looked for lol. Coz of the version I checked was 1.3.1 not 1.4, and still don't know why it was referred as 1.4 :s mmm....
I don't know if anyone else has encountered this problem, but it seems to me my SMS/MMS manager is messed up. I had a SMS conversation with 2 contacts and they received all my messages at once, 3 times.. I also received several errors at once "message could not be delivered, stored as concept" (needed to press 10 times OK). I received a MMS but couldn't download it (mms worked perfect with my previous phone). I sent 3 MMS's, but only the first one was received. When I try to open "sent items" my manager "blocks" (and does weird things when I keep scrolling down), but I can go back to the other folders. Is it normal that every message I sent is stored in Outbox?
Another q, how can I display "time" in my topbar? I know it was possible with my P3600, but since HTC Home it's a bit difficult to find this (non-existing) option.
Thanks.
I don't have this problem with my Snap - I have an unlocked HTC-branded device (not obtained from a network provider), OS details as per my signature. You?
To get the clock to show in the Windows Mobile Standard icon bar you need ClockOnTop.exe - there's no facility to put the time and date there otherwise (as you could with Windows Mobile Professional).
See here.
Thanks, I got the clock installed now.
I also have an unbranded HTC device. ROM: 1.19.404.1, Radio: 3.45.25.30A.
So you can access "sent items" without a problem? And your outgoing messages, are they stored in "Outbox" or "Sent items"?
I did something wrong during the first setup of my device:
When asked for my internet connection, I pressed "cancel" since my internet provider wasn't listed. Therefore the setup of my device wasn't completed and that's why my message system was driving mad. Probably also the result of receiving a few messages before completion.
I performed a hard reset, chose a random provider and everything's working fine now!
SOLVED!

Allright mate
You got it solved!

Well I had the same problem and it was really screwed up, my settings were listed and applied. That night it sent my messages time after time to all the contacts I sent messages to previously. I thought there would be something wrong in the network but my operator ensured me the messages originated from my device at a +- 10 minute pace.
I contacted HTC support in the Netherlands, I was told to do a hard reset and it was fixed. I recommend hard resetting all new Snap devices upon first use to eliminate this problem. I also received a message from a fellow new-Snap-owner who had the same problem, so watch out with this as it will tear up your phone bill!
My Snap is unlocked HTC branded and everything else seems perfectly fine!
Thanks for the clockontop tip btw!

does anyone know what i need to do to add mms settings or how to unlock these settings ,when i go into the settings everything is greyed out new edit etc,i have all of my other settings done internet etc im useing this on tmobile and i have wm 6.5 onit email me at [email protected] if anyone knows.
Hi Guys,
Ive had my HD2 for a couple of months now, its been running ok. I do love the phone but ive had a few issues of recent.
SMS Problem, now ive read about the sms loading issues, wrong timing etc
My problem is when I send an SMS the other person receives them like a day late, sometimes they get it straight away. I have checked to see I have signal and the message has gone through but even then the problem persists.
"get html" is another issue. I currently sync with my work exchange server however, when I try to select "HTML" email format it is greyed out and instead I have to choose plain text. I think at first when setting up the account I do get the HTML option but this must automatically go back to plain text
I have also tried going into an individual message clicking menu > view > get html
but even this is greyed out!!
Hope someone can help, Thanks!

For the SMS problem, try disabling the HTC messaging client with this app http://handheld.softpedia.com/get/Tweaks/Zenyee-Disable-HTC-Messaging-82632.shtml. This will revert it to the default windows mobile one, which seems to have no issues.
2nd issue, not sure - never used it.
