Okay, I am stumped... I just gave my mom a T-Mobile MDA (running Xplore Core 2.0n) for mother's day and I can't figure out how to move her contacts from her sim card to her phone. Or even just get the phone to bring up the sim card contacts??? Any help would be much appreciated.
there should be a sim manager in start/programs/sim manager
If you have a REGISTRY EDITOR:
Enable / Disable SIM contacts in Contacts
HKCU\ControlPanel\Phone\ShowSIM = 0 (DWORD decimal) (hides the SIM contacts)
HKCU\ControlPanel\Phone\ShowSIM = 1 (DWORD decimal) (shows the SIM contacts in CONTACTS)
Any point me to where I can download a RegEditor or SimContacts... I believe they were both excluded from Core2.0n. Maybe I should've used something a little less vanilla for her phone.
One of the best REGISTRY EDITORS out there is integrated in RESCO FILE EXPLORER 2007 ( www.resco.net ). You can download the trial version. The registry settings mentioned above you only have change once - after a phone restart it will show the SIM contacts in the CONTACTs list just like all the others which are save in the phone itself.
here i a freeware regeditor by phm
Would really rather have SIMManager so I could move them to the phone... anyone have that? The RegEdit will work for now.
this might work, not tried it myself,

on core2.0n simmanager should be in the office mobile folder, if not look here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=275864
yea go to start/programs/office mobile/sim manager then once that is open click menu/select all then click menu again and click save to contacts.
didn't think about that being an office program... thanks!

Hi,
on a WM Smartphone you can hide the SIM contacts by going to Start/Settings/Phone/Call Options and unticking the "Show SIM contacts" box.
Is there a simular setting on WM5 pocketPC?
Or maybe a registry that handles that?
nobody knows?
Yes, and here's the cab file from the T-Mob ext rom to do it for you.
Hope it helps, don't know if it needs to be run after a hard reset or if it will work anytime for this.
Joe
Thanks a lot. It works!
And just for the curious: the important option in the .cab is one registry key:
Under HKCU\ControlPanel\Phone add a new DWORD value named "ShowSim" and set it to 0. No need to soft reset the contacts will be hidden when you next open the contacts window.
BTW:
this registry setting does not affect the "Smart Dialing" list direct. But if you first start the contacts application before starting the phone app for the first time after a soft reset, the sim contacts will also be hidden in the smart dialing list.
I hope this helps everyone who keeps contacts on his sim card but doesnot wont to see dublicates after importing contacts.
Which cab file is it in the t-mobile extended rom?

I just bought Xda neo and I copied every contacts from my SIM card to the device. The problem is, after that, when I click "contact" it will show both the copied contacts and the one in my SIM card, which both are the same!!! Anyone have the idea of how to make all of the contacts shown to be from my SIM card disappear?
Thanks a lot

This was found using a search.

Use the search option in this forum or use SK tools. You can change this in the registry
Thanks For that I found the answer here

Reg change fixed it

Nothing to thank for. In fact most people are angry if they are told they should use the search function. Great u used it and found what you needed.
Have fun and enjoy!
I changed the ShowSIM (0), but when incoming call my phone show the contact from SIM.
By Phone:
NAME - two numbers (mobile and home)
BY SIM:
NAME1 - mobile
NAME2 - home
When incoming call my phone show NAME2.
WHY?
Hey everyone,
Simple question that seems like it should have a simple answer - I just can't find it. I searched the forum and was surprised not to see a thread about this already. I copied my contacts from sim to phone in order to view them using touchIT's cube. Now when I try to view contacts in the standard way (which I do out of force of habit when making a call a few times a day) each entry shows double, one entry from the sim, one from the phone. Is there any way I can filter this ("filter" from the menu doesn't have the option) to show only sim or phone contacts? It's frustrating having to sort through double entries from the standard contacts view.
Thanks in advance
There's a registry you can edit... but I don't have access to my laptop right now so I can't find out what it for you at the moment. Try searching around for it. Should be able to find it.
Here you go:
To Remove Sim Contacts
HKCU\ControlPanel\Phone\ShowSim: 1 => 0

Hi,
That is correct. I used it on my Mega & now only phone contacts are visible.
Dang, yesterday i was playing with this. I copied my sim contacts to phone memory for the first time and it cant show only phone contacts, it shows all of them, strange.
Use a registery editor and go to following key : HKCU\ControlPanel\Phone\ShowSIM and modify it from 1 to 0
