O2 Mini S cannot read sms - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario General

Hi, I got this problem when i receive an sms,i can saw it when i open the messaging , when i click the individual sms ,it will just show a blank page and nothing else. I cannot reply, read or even see who send to me when i click into the sms. Anyone face this program? any suggestion to solve will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance

Are you sure that that are 'real' SMS or only service and OTA checks?
Try to let a friend send you a sms with a short text and see if that works! Is your service center number for SMS correct in the phone?

Real sms. It is the place where you read all ur sms, the messaging application.
When people send me an sms, I cannot read it when i click the sms. Anyone face the same problem before?

unfortunatley mate, i had the same problem a while ago, with the same phone, i was running the shipped o2 rom. i didn't find a solution, i just had to do a reset. since playing with other roms it hasn't happened. What i did notice was that cemail.vol became movable, so i copied that to my computer, just incase it would be of any use later.
I can't offer any solutions mate, just a master reset. if you do find a solution, could you pm me please
Now i'm frequently syncing my messages with Jeyo. Good luck

Cant reply to sms's

Hey
I have a strange problem. I cant reply to a sms. Everytime i try to, a box pops up and says "Cannot send message".
I can send a message, if i create the sms from scratch, but............ thats not the point with a "reply"
I hope some of u guys has the solution.
By the way - its a XDA2 (M1000), from Orange, Denmark
Pleeeeeaase, somebody.......
when you try to reply can you see what nr it's trying to reply to ?
i'm thinking if it add +45 in front or not
Yes, it puts +45 in front of the number. I've also checked that the sms central number is correct (thats why im able to send a new sms).
Rudegar, any other suggestions? I guess youre danish as well
Now i've tried to remove my email accounts as well, but that didn't help either....
SUGGESTIONS, PLZZZZ
i would check if when you send a normal sms if it include the +45
in front if it dont then when you try to reply to removing the +45
and see if that works
I've tried that too. Ive tried to alter almost every setting. Nothing seems to work. I'm running out of ideas. Its getting a real pain...
try going into contacts>>tools>>options. Then, make sure that you have it set to your country, and enter the right area code number. Then click on ok, and it might work. I had some probs with my phone, and I changed this and then it was fine.
IT WORKED!!!! Thanks a lot. Finally i can reply to all those nice people sending me sms.
I actually thought i had changed this setting. but..........
THX

Truncated SMS messages

Hi All,
I'm running 1.66.00WWE & when i send SMS messages to people sometimes only half of it comes through for them. The SMS's are not over the character limit, for example a 20 char SMS sometimes only comes out with the first 10.
Anyone else had this problem or know of a solution?
I've had this problem before. For the recipient, it's similar to that of recieving a multi-page sms which of course takes time to update on their phone.
I just wrote it off as a service provider problem, but if others have the same problem, maybe it is handset related.
Truncated SMS Messages
I too am having problems with truncated messages (just no text actually) on some occasions. Not sure if it is reception related or what. Can anyone help. I'm running latest versions of ROM on o2 XDA II, using an Orange SIM
In my case it was all or nothing. I ended up putting +44 in front of all my UK mobile numbers and that seemed to solve it -not sure if it is the same problem as you are having though.
I also had the similar prob before, and got it solved with the help of gazzaman2k. Try this out, this might do it.
1.) Go to Inbox
2.) At the bottom, Click Accounts, then Accounts again.
3.) Tap *SMS
4.) Untick \"Send SMS messages using unicode when necessary\"
5.) Press \'OK\' then the \'X\'
Let me know if this fixes it.
was supposed to POST reply to thig, but Gut_S beat me to it, hehehe.
YUP, unticking that SEND SMS using UNICODE when necesarry will solve this problem, and TELL your friends about it. SERVICE providers GAIN a LOT from this bug coz you might think your sending only 1 SMS but actually it is counted as 2 or even 3 mesages by the network.
cheers.

SMS not opening.

This is bugging me i cant open any sms on my prophet, when i click on a sms it opens but does not display any thing, also i cant type a thing, when i type it does not display this is only when i open sms on my prophet word and any other application is fine. In the sms in box i can see all the sms there is.
any help will be appreciated.
I have almost the same problem with mms. I download msg and then try to open it. and it is nothing...
wich roms do you guys use?
don't get me started on MMS man LOL
i have a similar problem with some sms and emails. really wierd! it's totally random! never mind though, i'm hopefully upgrading to a trinity this week
I've previously posted instructions as to how to reset corrupted SMS / MMS settings. Have a look here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=1083243#post1083243
I had nearly the same probles to. My map's were gone.
My solution:
Make a custum backup of everything exept emails. Then a hard reset and replace the backup.
Al your settings for email, emails and SMS are gone but the device works again.

Test Message Threading

MDA Touch Plus..recently just had it back from repair, but they have also done a software upgrade.
Unfortunately now my text messages are threaded and showing "Conversation with" and just the mobile number. Therefore I have to look up my contacts for who is sending me a text message.
Been through all the settings and I have deleted all sim contacts from my contacts list.
Racking my brains here, any help guys how to get it back so i can see contact names again in my messages? I dont mind if they are still threaded so long as I can see who it is.
thanks in advance.
My wife's got the same issue. Just been back to T-Mobile for repair, got the latest firmware installed and now contacts aren't being recognised in the threaded messages.
A temporary fix seems to be to amend the contact mobile number to start +447xxx rather than 07xxx and this seems to work, but as she's got a couple of hundred contacts (uses her phone for work as well as personal use) it's gonna take some time to update them all.
Don't have this issue with either my Diamond or my Trinity (both also running WM6.1).
Any further help appreciated!
One option might be to disable threaded SMS - install this cab and all should be well again.
Hope that works for you!
Message thread resolved.
It works! Many thanks Khrushy

Youre right, been onto tech guys, this is the only cure at this moment in time. Took me half an hour to change all the contacts to +44 but its workable now. Thanks for your suggestion Martins40

Little help

Hi everyone,
Since the last Sony Ericsson update, throw SEUS, i'm getting an annoying error. It says: "android.mms has to be closed".
Then, when i try to send one sms to one of my contacts, if its to long, does not send. If i restart my X10, it gives the same error as described above, and when i enter handcent sms, i see, not 1 sms, but three equals sms's that handcent is trying to send at the same time...
I'm getting tired of this. I've reinstaled the software, everything...
I need some help here.
Thanks in advance

Hello and welcome
Have you tried a hard restet of you phone, it will delete all of you apps and stuff on the intern memory
Yes, I've tried that, but after reinstalling some apps it starts again...
the same thing has been happening to me. but it does not happen to every contact. i can spend the hole day sendind sms, but at a certain point i try to send a sms to somebody, and that sms just isn't sent, and if i in the minute later try to send another sms to another contact, the message is normaly sent. This started to happen after the last update, the same as you.
unfortunatly the android.mms string controlls everything to do with sms and mms on the handset, even after market sms and mms apps have to use that string hence the problem you have.
the only way to fix it is to do a handset repair on the pc companion.
I've already did the pc companion repair...nothing! It drives me crazy this "android.mms" error
what i usually and always solve my problem (at leat for a couple of days) is to erase the problematic messages you couldn't send, and restart the handset. when i turn it up again, i'm able to send sms to everyone again.
