Cant reply to sms's - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 General

Hey
I have a strange problem. I cant reply to a sms. Everytime i try to, a box pops up and says "Cannot send message".
I can send a message, if i create the sms from scratch, but............ thats not the point with a "reply"
I hope some of u guys has the solution.
By the way - its a XDA2 (M1000), from Orange, Denmark

Pleeeeeaase, somebody.......

when you try to reply can you see what nr it's trying to reply to ?
i'm thinking if it add +45 in front or not

Yes, it puts +45 in front of the number. I've also checked that the sms central number is correct (thats why im able to send a new sms).
Rudegar, any other suggestions? I guess youre danish as well

Now i've tried to remove my email accounts as well, but that didn't help either....
SUGGESTIONS, PLZZZZ

i would check if when you send a normal sms if it include the +45
in front if it dont then when you try to reply to removing the +45
and see if that works

I've tried that too. Ive tried to alter almost every setting. Nothing seems to work. I'm running out of ideas. Its getting a real pain...

try going into contacts>>tools>>options. Then, make sure that you have it set to your country, and enter the right area code number. Then click on ok, and it might work. I had some probs with my phone, and I changed this and then it was fine.

IT WORKED!!!! Thanks a lot. Finally i can reply to all those nice people sending me sms.
I actually thought i had changed this setting. but..........

Sending multiple SMS messages instead of one

Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone else is having the same problem as me.
Every now and again I'll send a text message to someone (or sometimes a few people) and then I'll get a text back from them saying that I only needed to send it once as they'd received it twice.
Now, as far as I can tell, this is gonna be eating into my text bundle (which I'm not too happy about!) and wondered if anyone else has experienced this with their device?
I had this last night.... I sent an SMS to my Dad the day before... and last night he rang me up asking why I sent it again..... I had no idea!! Nothing to do with Orange is it??
Nope, nothing to do with the Orange network as a mate of mine has just bought an O2 XDA II and he's sent a few texts which I've received twice.
Dears, I guess you have Sbp Pocket Plus 2.0 or 2.1 installed in your xda, it creats the problem of sending doublicate messages.
The Solution???
In the options, do not use the "close" feature in Pocket Plus, simply take out the tick in the "Close" feature, then try to send SMS. Your imate, or xda, or wshatever, will work ok afterthen!!!
Ahhh, right...
I'll try adding an exclusion to the list for "tmail.exe" (which is what PocketPlus identifies it as) and see if I get any more problems...
Cheers for that

I will give that a go myself... see if that sorts the problem.
Cheers.
I don't have it (SPB Plus) but I have the same problems! ITS A CON Back in the days of free texts on Pay as u go on o2 I noticed this.... MY SMSC (Text Message Service Centre Number) had changed because I was investigating why my friends where recieving multiple copys of messages on seeing that the smsc number had changed once i had added (Whats now called a 'bolt on') to my number I changed it back to the original once that was done I STILL Recieved my free messages and the multiple copys had stopped
this used to happen with me , i tried this solution and it worked with me
when u send any message, DO NOT exit the sms program until u get a sent message confirmation and that won't happen.

Yep, adding tmail.exe to the exceptions list works like a charm - nice-1
Mine started doing this to-day ahh!!
Have added the tmail.exe to exception list hope this works

Just so others can help properly it's worth checking that your text messages are not being received despite the message. For a while I got the message cannot be sent messages but in fact they were being sent!

Oooooh! Not good, hope you they were not sent I ended up with repeated messages sent all over the place. Maybe you could check by sending message to yourself.
Mike
well...i sent msg to myself and it works fine, saying "message successfully sent" but all other numbers it still wont go.

I see a reply from qtotter which I don't follow but may well make sense to you. Just in case qtotter does not have the explanation the following may help.
When I had the problem I began to notice that some numbers worked and some did not according to the message sent pop up. (as I said before all were actually being sent).
In my case it turned out to be to do with whether the numbers were on SIM on Phone or had been imported from SIM. As an experiment you could try re entering one of the numbers that appears not to work and saving it. Then try it again, if it's the same as the problem I had you may find the same number now works. Worth a try?
Mike
i guess what qtotter meant was that SMS in Japan is only possible between Softbank(Vodafone) and AU. Docomo doesnt support SMS...
For the x01th (hermes), it is the only phone in Japan without a proper email address connected to the carrier ( at least to my knowledge, maybe Willcom`s awesome W-Zero series has no email...dont know)
About the issue with the sms...i will look into the contact list/ sim issue.
Guess i will send some SMS and Cmails (AU) around.
Thanks for the tipp....

it's more like there is no way to get an address with x01th and use it on x01th by default. firstly, if you put your sim into another sb phone and go to Y!, you can get an account. secondly, if you install an mms client in x01th and set up vodafone/softbank mms setting, you can actually use mms on it. there is still some problem which happens once in awhile, but it works most of the time.
by the way, zero3 comes with an email address.

O2 Mini S cannot read sms

Hi, I got this problem when i receive an sms,i can saw it when i open the messaging , when i click the individual sms ,it will just show a blank page and nothing else. I cannot reply, read or even see who send to me when i click into the sms. Anyone face this program? any suggestion to solve will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance
Are you sure that that are 'real' SMS or only service and OTA checks?
Try to let a friend send you a sms with a short text and see if that works! Is your service center number for SMS correct in the phone?
Real sms. It is the place where you read all ur sms, the messaging application.
When people send me an sms, I cannot read it when i click the sms. Anyone face the same problem before?
unfortunatley mate, i had the same problem a while ago, with the same phone, i was running the shipped o2 rom. i didn't find a solution, i just had to do a reset. since playing with other roms it hasn't happened. What i did notice was that cemail.vol became movable, so i copied that to my computer, just incase it would be of any use later.
I can't offer any solutions mate, just a master reset. if you do find a solution, could you pm me please
Now i'm frequently syncing my messages with Jeyo. Good luck

pressing Send button during sms on accident

Hello,
Is there a way to disable the soft keys on the keyboard of the P4350? i press the send button quite often when typing an sms, because it's so annoyingly close to the R and T. i've been looking for a solution for quite some time, but all i can think off right now is getting a new set of fingers, a smaller size
grtz
Hans
Have the same problem. Help would be greatly appreciated!

yerrppp count me in X-P
Does nobody has a solution for this??
Yup, we do! Don't drink so much!
Try softkeychanger, found in the "usefull cab files" post. Not sure it will work, butt it's better then nothing
The softkey changer will only change your softkeys on the today screen.
It's probably a registry setting somewhere in the ARCSoft composer software... if its even in there and not built into the actual exe or something.
having the same problem on the kaiser. did it twice this morning.
put the recipient before sending, not before typing .... easy one but works

Smart man. (or woman) That's what I call thinking with your head. Thanks!!
It won't help if you press reply like I do with most of my messages since they're to my fiancee and she's always in my inbox as I never delete messages... but it's a great tip for normal people. lol
the difficulty with a active forum filled with people from all over the world and in all layers of society whom are thinking about the various and usually very technical problems is that these people (and i'm one of them myselves) tend to think too much and "just do" to little
what was it they said? something like: "the genius of a solution lies in its simplicity"
LOL
I'm having the same problem. When I'm composing a new message I wait indeed to put in the recipient until I send the message. When I'm sending a reply, I'm never thinking about removing the recipient and re-entering it afterwards, help would be welcome ;-)
I hear you guys- I'm generally hitting Reply on SMS messages. I am hoping that it is some Registry setting that could be tweaked. I'd love to make it "spell check" or toggle delivery receipt notification or something.
I suppose another option is to use a 3rd party SMS app, but I like the default one so I'm hoping someone finds a hack at some point...
Cheers...

Doesn't work for replies though
EDIT: Sorry, replied to an old post and couldn't find a way to delete my post.
compose instead of reply
Well if you never reply and always compose a new message the method works....

You're really into composing a new message when in a SMS conversation?

"unable to send message" after sync

i recently lost my phone and thought all the numbers i`d aquired over the years were gone forever, to my delight when recieving my new phone and putting my email/facebook account details in, all my old numbers were synced also. but everytime i try send a message it comes up "unable to send message try again" i can call a number no probs its just the sms. if i delete the contact and put the number in manually in the phone its fine even tho it was the exact same contact number as the one which was automatically synced. anyone else have this problem and know of a fix??? i really dont wanna have to go through 100s of contacts and delete them and re-enter the names and numbers all over again.. Thanks
wow this place is like a ghost town lol. last time i was a regular on xda was when i had a HD2, that forum was a hive of activity!! not much love for the omnia7 on here lol
Might be a prefix problem? Ask your provider if they know of this issue. Also try the network app from samsung, might fix the settings.
cheers for the reply mate.. apparently its something to do with the windows live or googlemail accounts i`d read someone tested this putting in a contact through these accounts and synching you get this problem, make a contact in the phone and its fine. didnt find a fix tho.... damn!
this person is having same issue http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/winphone/forum/wp7-wppeople/windows-live-account-synced-windows-7-contacts-sms/117e3cb3-8568-477d-974a-a6b458d16bdb?page=1&tm=1336670340518#footer
