There is a ton of information on this. Search for slide. Try the slide thread. I even put a post with screen shots on what the settings are using battery status.

I have been searching around the internet looking for a program that will lock the touch screen while talking on the phone and give you a lock icon when not using the phone that can be unlocked by hitting the icon again. Is there a program out there like this? Also these forums have been great and a ton of help in getting my new HTC-PPC6800 running like a champ!
prefer is the program intergrated in my HTC tabs. Hope you all know something I don't!
just hit the power button on the side of the phone, or you can lock it with the lock in today. just go to start, today, lock.

The Today lock is ok but when you click to unlock it you go to another screen and confirm your unlock. Also it would be more convenient if it was a part of the HTC homeplug in tab.
search for "onlock"
new slide2lock version works good. just put a shortcut to it on your screen. with one tap it's locked.
Slide2Unlock

My original screen lock has gone all of a sudden. Theres no lock icon that i can slide. Instead my phone just says ' to unlock the device tap unlock' .
Bit weird. Id like the original slider back if possible. Any thoughts?
Thanks in advance.
press the windows button on the left side of the taskbar
then go down and press lock
it starts working again...its a common bug of the newer roms.
Suddenly my lock slider disappered too. Pressing the windows button and choose lock makes it work once but when I've unlocked it with the slider and set the phone to standby it won't appear again. Help... Very annoying.
Installing the HeartofWolf lock screen might fix it.. I never had this problem but it basically moves the lock slider to the bottom of the screen. Might also keep it up always and rule out this bug in sense..

It did move the slider to the bottom (Which was nice) but it did not solve my problem that the slider won't show up when I wake up the device :-(
Which is the exact cab that i need the slide bar down? I saw a list of HeartOfWolf cabs and didn't want to experiment one after the other to make sure it worked with Sense & HD2... Cheers...

The one I tried was HeartofWolf Lockscreen fix v4 transparent.cab
I am looking to purchase this phone and have a query regarding the lock screen.
I used to have the I-Mate K-Jam, the lock screen on this phone used to lock on the Today screen if i'm not mistaken. I could basically see my today/tomorrow calendar items, no. of unread message etc. Since the k-jam i've had the i-phone and i have severely missed the today screen, there are apps for this on the i-phone but they get buggy then there's compatibility etc.
Does the WM 6.5 have the same lock screen, i know the new lock screen looks totally different, but i do understand there is a setting to enable the classic lock screen. Does the classic setting allow the user to lock to the today screen.
Any images would be great.
Thanks in advance
Anyone answer the above please.

Thanks but thats not really answering my question, all those images are of the new windows lock screen.
Has anyone got the classic lock screen on the HD2?
More to the point can the HD2 lock the screen on the 'today' screen.
Thanks

yes you can i have tried it...but first you have to disable the default lock screen in wm6.5
if you post that you got it, why not post how
go to settings > menu > all settings > lock > display tab choose windows classic from the dropdown.
then the phone needs to reboot and you have an empty original today screen..
to get sense back or put other items on the today screen got to settings > today > items tab
whatever you choose, now when you push a button it will show you a locked windows today or sense home screen..
edit: althought it takes an extra tap to unlock, it easier with one hand then the slider on top of the screen..
You can also try PocketShield which works nice on the HD2.
It has a "transparent lock" mode which might fit into what you are looking for. Not free though...
I have posted this before a couple of days back on another thread so sorry.
Just wanted to know if there is a reg key that i can modify to get HD2 slider lock back.
A little background to the problem, i installed Cookies Home tab and now my slider lock is gone(the one that comes default with HD2). It may not be related to CHT as the folks on the other thread suggest. when i try the soft key lock button on right hand side bottom it used to lock my phone and i had to unlock it using the slide lock. Now it still gets locked but the home screen still remains and an unlock shows up at the bottom left hand side, which on tapping presents me with an ugly out of the place unlock screen and on tapping it again i am able to unlock it.
I am tempted to do a hard reset coz i like the default slider lock, however i want to give in to tweaks and try things before jumping for the extreme. Any suggestions/ bright ideas appreciated.
Thanks
P.S. I tried S2U2 but i kinda miss the default one and uninstalled it.
Sorry guys i figured out what was wrong and i have the default slider lock back!
the reason it was disabled was, my setting> lock > display was set to windows classic.
I changed it to windows default and the lock is back.
Thanks.
I am sure this has been dealt with, but I have tried so many searches and found nothing that could help me.
I cannot find any setting anywhere to keep the screen locked even when the keyboard slides out, and sometime sin my pocket the keyboard slides slightly but enough to turn the screen on and unlock the device.
What can I do? do I have to replace the basic lock app?
please point me in the direction of existing threads if you know of any or solutions.
cheers
grymcent
Yes I would like to know that
I solve it by also using pattern type screen lock (in security settings with immediate lock on after) thus even after sliding, the HTC default lock will be unlocked, but the pattern will be required to completely unlock the phone...
If I'm not mistaken, HTC designed the Desire Z and the G2 to unlock when the keyboard is opened. Naturally, on paper, this would make sense given that you could just slide the keyboard to go right to typing. However, as stated before, if you put the pattern lock, then it shouldn't be able to unlock even when you slide.
if you have a pattern or PIN lock it won't unlock when opened.
Now. There is a nice elegant solution that I didn't think of.
And there I was trying to be simple and all I needed waas added security, thanks guys.
Setting it up now
Sent from my HTC Desire Z using XDA App
i find this more convenient this way as i can just slightly tilt the keyboard-screen flip to unlock the phone right away.
Replace your springs in the hinge so it will close tightly and not open in your pocket
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
Also, using pattern prevent accidental unlocks when the screen slides along some material that it respond to. I don't use the pattern for security but as additional screen lock because the default lock is just poor
So I set up a Pattern Lock. I really like it.
only issue is having to still do the slide down lock AND then the pattern lock.
I cannot find the setting to turn off the slide lock.
what have I missed?
If you rooted your phone and installed a ROM like Cyanogenmod ... you'd have the option to unlock by using the trackpad instead hitting the power button and then slide down to unlock.
