Is there any way to have an individual sound based on the sender of an SMS? I get bunches of messages every day and it would be nice to be able to differentiate the important ones from the regulars.

I am after a small program that will beep every minute when you have unread text messages. This means that when I get a message and I am not within earshot it will be beeping when I am in earshot and I should miss fewer of my girlfriends text messages.
Anyone know of anything that can do this (or how to reconfigure the software already present so it achieves the same result).
PhoneAlarm will do what you need. Their web site is www.pocketmax.net but then again it is not a small program as apart from repeating missed call, unread SMS, MMS and e-mails it has a host of other functions such as profiles. Some also say that it tends to slow down the device. Anyway I am more than satisfied and suggest you give the free trial version a go.

Cool. Shall give it a whilr when I get time.
Any other options? Maybe free tools or something smaller?
Is it possible to have specific notifications of received SMS's based on who they are from? If so what program will do this?
All my friends cheap phones do this and it burns me...Wish I knew a way also.
a Program called Ringo i believe will allow you to set up sms and call profiles for certain people.
Hi all,
I am looking for a program that will enable me to create a different SMS notification sound depending on who the sender is.
The reason for this is that I have friends who also have TyTNs, but due to the fact that they receive several automated sms notifications from a server monitoring application each day, they almost never read my SMS in time.
So I decided that I want their phones to make a different sound whenever they receive a private SMS. Maybe you can assign some contacts to a group and then specify a SMS notification sound to that group?
Thanks a lot!
I'm looking for the same soft.
I am looking for an app. that will allow me to set different sms tones per number/ group.
You can try Text Message Secretary. Available in Windows Marketplace for $1.99. You create rules to set different tones for specific users and or/Outlook categories. Does a few other things as well, like rejecting unwanted text messages, or auto-reply. Simple to setup.
+1 for Text Message Secretary. Seems to do the trick (plus you get alot of options for the low price).
I am sure you could find an app that works for free, but really the low cost and high functionality is worth not having to search everywhere.
I have a Fitbit Flex 2 and it's practically useless because it only notifies me for SMS and Calls, which is 1/100th of the notifications on my phone nowadays!
I'm trying to find ways to be able to get Fitbit notifications for all my notifications. I had a few questions for people who may have spent more time developing on this platform than me.
One method that may be possible is grabbing the Bluetooth packet sent from my phone and spoofing that to cue a notification. Can this even be done?
Another method may be sending a fake SMS received notification to my phone. Right now I am using Tasker to send myself an SMS for every item I receive and it's very annoying to have two alerts for everything. Can I send a fake SMS received state to my phone and not have it show up in the notification tray?
Any other suggestions are welcome!
