I'm having a problem with my TYTN and I will need to return the unit for a new one. I have WM6, should I downgrade back to the original ROM shipped with the device? I have HardSPL installed, can I just install one of the older ROM packages (radio and all)?

Hi, I have an HTC P4350 with WM6, ROM version 4.17.405.2 WWE, I need to downgrade to WM5. What i dont know is if this device came originally with WM5 or WM6, but what I need is to downgrade it.
Can anyone help me?
Thanks,
Patricio
if it's a stock HTC device (or basically, not a tmobile wing) it came with wm5.
look for the RUU for your device. and flash it
Find a stock rom. flash it. It will take the device to wm5.
I want to switch back to WM5 and require the official WM5 WWE ROM, where do I get it. (CID/SIM unlocked). I also need the official/best radio/GSM for it. any links? and do I need to downgrade my SPL/IPL version for it?
or does the ROM includes the Radio/GSM?
ok installed K-JAM_WWE_216901_2169101_020710_ship and it solved most of issues.
Sorry if I'm being thick, here.
My HD2 was originally bought direct from T-Mobile UK. It was Hard-SPL'ed a long time ago, so I recently tried putting the new 3.14 generic ROM onto it, only to run into the "RAM cut in half" problem; apparently the 3.14 ROM is not fully compatible with any currently released HSPL version. For owners of non-branded HD2's this isn't a problem - they can simply replace the HSPL with a standard, non-hacked SPL, and then flash the ROM; but if I put the standard SPL back on my phone, it goes back to being treated as a branded phone, which cannot install non-branded ROM updates - the installation programme refuses to play ball.
Is there any way around this, or do I have to wait for either a T-Mobile version of the 3.14 ROM, or a 3.14-compatible HSPL?
Best thing you can do is waiting fore a a T-Mobile version of the 3.14 ROM, or a 3.14-compatible HSPL version.
HTC is working to make fore every aria/language/(branded / unbranded) a update to the 3.14 base stock rom, it's a matter of time.
I had the same problem, but with an O2 supplied phone. What I did was to install HSPL (using HSPL3) and then load Dutty's ML Family Rom. This gave me 3.14, plus the extra memory, plus WM-6.5.1. You'll need to reinstall your software though.
The ROM is fast and stable.
Visit this page - you can get a Goldcard in which you will be able to install the new ROM.

Hello,
i have a HTC HD2 phone from vodafone.
a few months ago i did an update to the orgignal HTC ROM 1.66.407.1 (GER).
Now the mobile Windows is very slow and i want the new ROM 3.14.407.2 (GER).
I have downloaded the orginal ROM here (not the Vodafone ROM)
But when i want to update here stands that i dont have the permisson because it is a HTC from vodafone.
I had that problem a few months before, but i cant remeber how i did the update.
I dont want a Hard Flash, it if is possible. (i can remember that i flash it with SSPL (SLPL_RUU.exe, but i am not really sure.)
My SPL version ist 1.42
It is right that first i have to update the vodafone-ROM, because of the RADIO and ther SPL version, and then i can run the SPL_RUU.exe to update the orginal HTC ROM?
Furthermore i have read that many people have problems with the new 3.14 ROM
Thanx for your Help

Sorry, I cant speak German
You can't flash other stock rom which is not intended for your device series. But, you still can do it using GOLD CARD method. If you are interested, find in the threads using search button
Im not sure of flashing stock rom using SSPL, because I never do that (and I have no intention to try it )
To avoid any trouble, I would suggest you to find the CORRECT STOCK ROM, if your device is from VODAFONE, then go to VODAFONE website to find it whether there is update rom.
The problem reported by other users is because they have installed Stock ROM version 3.14 (which contains SPL 3.03.0000) using HSPL.
SPL 3.03 is incompatible with HSPL.
Cheers
thanks
But it is right that i have to flash the original Vodafone ROM ( to update the SPL and Radio) and then I can flash the original HTC ROM (not vodafone) with SSPL?
Is that right?
And after that, can I downgrade to maybe 1.66 with the same method when I have the New 3.14 ROM with SPL 3.03 and RADIO 2.15 ?

Sir (after your PM)
Flash your phone only with S/N 3.14 ROM
if it's Vodafone then flash with 3.14 Vodafone ROM
to get SPL 3.03 and HTC radio 2.15
ok thanks,
but i dont want the vodafone branded software/ROM.
Then i must flash again (after the vodafone ROM flash) the origianl non-branded HTC-HD2-ROM with SSLP right?
Then i have the newest radio and spl version from the vodafone-ROM and the non-branded software/OS from the original HTC-ROM right? (is the newest orginal ROM supported by SSLP? or can i flash the 3.14-ROM with SSLP?)
The last question -> can i always downgrade to (without SSLP/HSLP etc.) the original vodafone 1.66 or 1.72-ROM ? or it is not possible when i have newest SPL and Radio version?
Thansk a lot.
PS: The HTC is for my father for birthday.I want to give him the HTC as a gift and it should be with the original, newest and non-branded ROM/OS.
And for me it is important that i can easly can downgrade to the original vodafone-ROM.

You can always downgrade it by flashing the older CORRECT STOCK ROM using Micro SD Card method. If you flash with UNCORRECT STOCK ROM, you might get into trouble (it wont flash), unless you have a GOLD CARD.
All STOCK ROM contains SPL. Once you flash it via Micro SD, then your HSPL or SPL will be replaced with the SPL contains in the rom.
