TomTom Product ID? - Advantage X7500, MDA Ameo General

Sorry if this is a duplicate post but I did a search and came up with nothing.
Does anyone know where we get the TomTom Product ID for the free version we received with our Athena's? I finally found the Device ID but nothing on the Product ID?

How can they think we will buy new maps if we can't find the Product ID to enter to buy them.

i asked that many times in different forums (including this one), seems the product id is part of a map.
it's strange cause HTC gives you a discount code (after installing your free map you get the link) which you apparently can't use without having the map already.
really strange. i wanted to buy a map, too. but i don't see the point of having a discounct code which i can't use and therefore paying the full price.
i wrote to tomtom a few minutes ago, i will tell when/if they answer.

If I have a moment today...I'm going to call TomTom support and ask these types of questions. If anyone has the time right now and is willing...please post the results of the conversation I may not be able to call until tomorrow because of work.

tomtom discount code
Same here tried to use the discount code and on the payment form it did not reduce the price!

Now that sucks.

ok,
so two things i found out.
first: you shouldn't check the voucher code thing at the beginning of the checkout but at the end (i think it's the last page). so you don't need a productid.
still, the code didn't work (full price appeared after entering the code). then tomtom told me that the voucher code is only valid for western europe N6 on DVD (80€ instead of 99€)!!!!
at least for european htc advantages...
hope i could help.
ps: i think you'll need the productid to upgrade from your map to a newer one.

Each map has an authentication code that is tied to your specific device code. The software is free, the maps will cost you. so unless someone has maps they paid for and didn't use..it wouldn't help to use someone else's maps
This is not a warez site, so they will not allow sharing tomtom map software. So you might want to look at another site for the software.

The STORY you tell them is the KEY.
Why is it 18 digit activation code? Not 25? And what about whole Microsoft reaction especially in US?
My generator will be out soon for those who pm'd me.
But now - sunlight here so going to sleep as been up all night coding and playing live.

This is enough..!!!

What i did to get my activation code **easy peasy**
Called microsoft from Pakistan.
Used Skype to call their 800 toll-free number.
I actually hung-up quite a few times. ill explain the reason below.
The customer service representative asked me for the following things:
1. first and last name
2. what product i am calling for
3. telephone number
4. telephone maker
5. where i am calling from
the last question he asked me was "do you need an activation code?"...
*****why i hung up and if you are an international caller then you should too******
i tried to choose the agent that i was talking to. i ignored calls that were answered by US agents. I only talked to agents that were not from the US (as was evident from their accents). This may be important. A US agent would insist that you either call your home country Microsoft office or your phone manufacturer or that they will not service your request because they are only catering to US or Canadian products. Another thing is that a US native representative would have a better knowledge of telephone numbers that you give him/her so if you are spoofing a number you are risking it.
******first and last name*****
they dont give two hoots about your first and last name. they only ask that to create a ticket in their system and to log your service call so that they may refer to it in the future if you call back for the same reason
*****product you are calling about****
this is obvious. they need to know how to service you. and ofcourse they also put it in the ticket.
*****telephone number*****
in my experience this is not to check where you are calling from. they ask that specifically. this is just a part of the ticket that they will generate. However, because i told them i was an international caller they could not verify the number that i gave them. if you tell them you are calling from the US or Canada then your number must NOT BE FAKE(!). It must exist. It doesnt have to be your number. if it is fake then they can actually verify it with their supported carrier.
The Safe Bet: I found it safe to tell them i was calling from abroad (which i was) but my product was purchased in the US.
*****mobile device manufacturer / brand / maker******
this they need to generate the activation code. i believe HTC and Samsung have different activation code series.
****where are you calling from*****
this as i explained above is to ensure that the product you hold is from the US. you just have to tell them that it was purchased from the US no matter where you are. if you tell them you are calling from the US then there is no problem. But if you are an international customer then they have to believe you that the product was from the states. make up a story here if you have to. Otherwise they will simply tell you that the country is not supported and you have to call Microsoft in your home country.
=======================================================
I hope this helps people.
I don't think they are on the lookout for people who are bogus callers. I don't think there are very many of us out there anyway. People who put WP7 on their HD2 are minuscule compared to genuine buyers so they would have no explicit intention to seek you out. Having said that, they would know that Microsoft products get pirated and pretty easily too (not putting down the DFT team's effort here) so they know about piracy and what vulnerabilities WP7 has on that front. However, i think they will take care of it like Microsoft always has. Through Genuine Activation Checks. God i hate those. I think they will come in the next couple of updates.
Hit thanks if you this helps.
i agree with you INASAR , but microsoft ate his own sh*t by doing this to hd2 , think every thing was the same with hd7 but only 3 bottons was the problem, (only ) so it is a good revange that DFT ported it to hd2 and it was a sucess ,and thanks DFT for that i have my activation code now and i gonna use it for good

i want activation code for wp7 in my htc hd2

i tried almost all method.
call.chat,skype,mail.but hell wtf.they want my purchase proof everytime.
plzcan someone pm me the code?
same here?
i had no problems when calling MS for an activation code, only took like 5 mins
All you have to do is tell them you just got a new windows phone (don't say HD7 yet) and need an activation code for access to marketplace, games, etc. And they going to need your information. Give them your real information, and when they ask what device is it, tell them you have HTC HD7. And you know the rest. This is my second time (Feb. 20, 2011) I called them when I lost my first activation code.
any bypass i realy dont want to talk with them? E-mail perhaps?? thats OK or i shoud just say godbye to wp7 and roll back to my good old friend ANDROID

If a 5 minute phone call is too much work for you, go back to Android.
Just sayin.
People have had luck getting a code via e-mail, but I don't see what the big deal with calling is.

Just behave as someone who is troubled by a strange question on the screen of your phone: a kind of activation code is asked??? I can't find this in the manual???
You'll see, you'll receive your code almost instantly.
Good luck!

MICROSOFT support even suggests to get a new activation code when this happens, so it shouldnt be a big deal.
I'm trying to get an activation code, and either I'm losing my mind entirely or Microsoft's UK website keeps re-directing me away from their contact details. Each time I get to the relevant page it part loads, then goes to a page recommending I contact the manufacturer or carrier about any problems.
Can anyone list phone / e-mail details for how to contact Microsoft UK to request an activation code?
Thanks in advance!

That code was only good for so long as it was used by one user. By sharing it, it was rendered invalid.
You have to get your own code via chat. It's easy to do.

or maybe the phone we should call?

MS been a pain for activation

Hey I have called MS 3 times now emailed them about 20 and been on chat about 5 the chat keeps telling the there system can't do it its down the email they keep asking me for the photo of the device box and invoice and over the phone they asking me to send them the invoice I have this so many times Its doing my head in one member here said they would give me a key for £10 but sorry I am not paying for something they got for free andriod is a better OS i just wanted to test the live servcies and one got a bypass yet ?
Or will there be one soon? if no to both please tell me I go back to android.
Try phoning from a different telephone number and use a different Windows Live Id when they ask for one (as if you were a different customer) it sounds like maybe you have been black listed as every time I have phoned they have given it to me straight over the phone. Just say you have a HTC phone and don't give a model number.
P.S the activation code doesn't match the live Id so you can still sign your phone in to your old Id after you get a code.
Good luck.

We never get to the point about the live ID and I called from diff numbers they first thing they keep asking is proof I paid for it, I have no problem going back to android I just wanted to play about with it before I went back to a nand build of android or maybe a ubuntu when its little more stable but at the same time I just wanted to play with the live services so I already have a messnger but seems
youtube is also been blocked stange :S
The OS is fast it types really really nice and rotaction and keyboard are better on the wp7 then default android but android offers much more of a user friendly system and I don't have to fk about registering lol, more apps and more updates to fix bugs and well android is better.
Or well sad I think I give in a month to see what the ubuntu world will have to offer and see what android nands come out by then 2.3 will be better supported by app market.

Activating Windows Live via Microsoft Chat Assisted Support - Took 5 minutes!

It took a little doing but I located Microsoft Windows Phone Assisted Support at the following link: https://support.live.com/default.aspx?productkey=oepwp7cf&brand=oepwp7&mkt=en-ww& You sign in with your Windows Live credentials and a pop-up chat window will appear after you send your device specs. You do not have to lie to them; I told them I had two HTC devices I updated; one is my HTC Titan and the other my HTC HD2. He said; one code should work on both devices but he was kind enough to send me two. It took less than 5 minutes not less than 30 minutes ago and it is 4:35 am ET. You don't have to call or wait a day on a reply to your e-mail; it's 5 minutes and that's it.

just do what i say: call Microsoft Serbia (also you can call Microsoft Croatia) and only what need is to say you purchased HTC HD7 from eBay and after update via Zune and hard reset phone asking for Live activation code... you dont need give IMEI... just give your real phone number and you must get activation code... dont worry MS not checking where you live or others...
I didn't come across that information when I ran a search on this but until this past week I had been away from XDA after I stopped flashing my Rhodium with the EnergyROMs. I appreciate the heads up..thanks a bunch!
Thanks for the advice.
Had to provide phone manufacturer, model, IMEI and phone carrier.

I got the code fair and square. I asked the support person if it was possible to get a WP7 serial for HD2. No US phone number was needed (I gave him my Finnish number). It was really easy and there was no need to tell a lie about the phone model either. Honesty is the best policy.... :fingers-crossed:
