MDA II (PH10A) from T-Mobile Austria - Bootloader Question

Hello everyone.
I recently got this 4 years old MDA 2 from a friend.
I thought i could still use it for Navigation and so i tried to update the Software to a newer Version - But somehow the update faild :-(
The only thing i see now on the screen is "Serial v1.02".
I already tried to switch into the Bootloader Menü for a Update via SD Card by pressing the Power+Navpad+Reset Switch, but it doesn't work.
Can someone help me please

The device allready is in bootloader mode reconnect it to the pc and update the rom again then it will work again i use the aku 3.5 sp2 rom see the upgrading part in the forum

Thanks, now my PPC is alive again.
Guess the Problem was with the new Vista Mobile Device Center.
I tried the same on a XP Computer with Active Sync 4.5 and it worked.

Upgraded my brand new TyTN to WM6 - "USB Device Not Recognized"

Hey All,
I just got my TyTn and decided to upgrade to WM6 - after that my PC never recognized the device - allways says "USB Device Not Recognized". Digged all over, and don't have a clue.
I am using Win XP SP2.
Does someone can help me?

try going to >settings>connections>usb to pc>'uncheck' enable advance network functionality.

Ensure you are running ActiveSync version 4.5 which is available for download from:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/activesync/activesync45.mspx

Hey All,
after a few hours going back and forth it worked
I forgot that I was running a windows device, and I had re-started the computer a few times, but after the OS Upgrade I hadn't turned it off and on.
So that's the solution: boot the device. After upgrade the OS to WM6, turn off for real and turn it on again. It'll might work

Guys i am having trouble upgrading.. tried to do everything what is said to be done.... but when i start the rom update then the set automatically swiches off and the upgrade fails.. i am using Activesys 4.2... Please heellllpppp!!!!!

Urgent XDA ATOM DEAD During ROM Update

Dear All
I have an XDA ATOM Life in Hanging and Stuck Condition.
So I Did Erom Update.But During Erom Update.
Os Update Ok
But In PDA Update Sytem Phone Hang and Stuck.
When i Unplug Cabel Phone Doesnot Power On
Any way To Repair this Phone.

Not Clear, can you explain more clearly, i upgrade few month back, and with no issue, maybe you can try to do "hard reset" and try to reinstall the OS.

Did you upgrade using bootloader?? read the wiki!

Whats an Erom Update? or is that a typo?
Anyway read the Wiki and you may find a fix, goodluck

just charge ur battery with universal charger or another phone..and take ur device to bootloader mode!And reupgrade appropriate rom!! Good Luck

Faulty method?
Atom upgrades beautifully without problems if instructions are properly followed:
Do not use Vista or its Windows Mobile Device Center. Use Activesync with Windows XP
Always upgrade in bootloader mode (Off Button + Camera Button + Reset Button)
Always use tested or authorised ROMs
I have upgraded my Atom to WM6.1 v2.1 (almost the latest ROM) and it works beautifully and even better than the original!

Dont scare people with VISTA.

Why not use VISTA? Its MS windows mobile, WM6 is by MS, VISTA is by MS. They say Vista works, then it works.
I twice did WM5 to WM6 upgrade with authorised ROM with no problem on my VISTA Business with Mobile Device Centre. Please do not scare people.
Vista rocks. Vista is best OS till date with strong security both for programs and data, its only the people who have not yet have understood it or still discovering.

yeah vista GUI rocks, but still full of bugs! I work for dell and I know the crap MS is doing. giving us a hard time configuring damn drivers to support the OS!

Probably you have the antivirus running in active mode, disable it and reupdate ur pda.

the only method sounds like jtag then, it's in the wiki section.

XDA11i Serial V1.01

Hi all, Hopefully some wise person can assist me.
I downloaded a ROM update for my XDA11i from this site :Alpine_Ext-1.11.162_Radio-1.04_O2stuffstripped_Camera_Fixed which was highlighted for a Alpine. However on running the update you get a picture of a MDA and a message "The ROM upgrade utility does not design for your device. Please get proper ROM upgrade utility and try again"
Unfortunatly my XDA11i is now stuck on a blank screen with Serial V1.01 and is not recognised by activsync or My computer. However in the cradle the screen shows USB V1.01
I have tried installing the official O2 ROM update: AP_O2UK_11100_169_10000_ShipXdaIIi but get the following message Error 101: connection error. I assume because my XDA is not recognised by Activsync.
I have spent days trawling the forum and trying the various solutions to no avail. Most of the links are dead as in archive.

2. I tried the process posted by CelticLo and copied a ROM image to a SD card, however again on hard reset the sserial text only dims.

Have you tried updating to the latest version of Active Sync on XP
or following the guide for Vista

Take off battery. wait for about 10 hrs. put back battery and switch on the power.

I have removed the battery for two days and recharged it through the cradle, on returning the battery and switching on. It returned to the serial screen.
I tried flashing with the following rom : [Maxishare_net]alpine-1.11.171-radio-1.04-bluetooth-patched-camera-fixed again i get the message it is the wrong ROM??
I can not understand why I keep getting the wrong ROM message as it is definetly a XDA IIi PH10C

erm u are trying to flash on a pc running vista?? thats your problem, u cannot flash on a vista pc, xp home/pro ONLY!

Thanks for the advice, tried on XP and it worked fine, it would seem that activsync was not required in this case. At least my XDA is ALIVE for now.

for information the french rom is available on this place http://www.planete-htc.com/index.php?mod=download choose dangaard section there is two files to download
1. choose 2020i dangaard rom
you can not use it
2 download the radio file
it contains an exe called upgradeut make it in the directory of your dangaard folder and you will be able to flash it
it work also for pda stuck in serial usb

Hello,
I tried to update my XDA IIi from a new rom version found at o2.ie website but my XDA IIi is stuck and showing Serial on top and v 1.01 at botom. When i attach it with cardle it shows USB instead of serial.
I have tried Almost everything that i found on this forum in last three days.
Hard reset / soft reset/ new installation using different version etc.. but nothing worked for me..
Now I am really confused and can't find what to do.. Can any one from XDA gurus/ developer help me and sumarize what should i do?

look and lern
put qtek 2020i in stativ (conect to pc via usb)and push power ( on screen will apear USB and v1.01), and you dezarhive :astel_wwe_11100_112_10200_ship, and doble klik on AlUpgradeUt and bios at ppc wil be update !!!!! This is all, the ppc will be now reinstaling, be patient and wait until will be reinstaled (25 min)

[Q] Please Help - O2 xda Orbit is dead - ROM problem

Hi there, I've been reading the forum for about a week trying to find a fix for my deceased orbit xda.
Problem started when the phone started crashing, the screen was going white and needed re-starting. Eventually it failed to load and froze at the blue screen with the red writing!
so I started reading and tried soft and hard re-booting to no avail.
I have managed to get the phone into bootloader and connected a USB
it recognises the usb and installs as a mobile device on my laptop but here's where it gets tricky. I dunno alot about phone's and am struggling to understand some of the processes. I have tried booting off the SD card but it said invalid certificate (i used the artiemg.nhb file from rapidshare)
I have all the original paperwork and cd's for the phone but dont know what or how to flash a ROM.
what do I need and more important how do I do it without all the tech talk.

EDIT - Just to clarify, have just tried the romupdateutility on raving_nanza's sig but recieve an error - am running vista on my laptop

Update, I managed yesterday to get the phone to boot from the SD card and indeed it flashed it and WM5 is back up and running, the new problem is its network locked (to O2 i presume). I was using this phone on orange previously without an issue????
any Idea's other than paying imei check?
