keyboard stops responding - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam General

I'm running Black 2.5 as my ROM, but it's happened on all ROM's, including the Cingular stock WM5 rom. The keyboard just stops working. It comes back sometimes on it's own a few minutes later, and always after a soft reset, but what causes it?
Does this happen to anyone else, and is it a hardware issue, or a software issue?

Does happen to me sometimes. Had one this morning. Not only k/b, but the scroll wheel as well.

Keyborad not responding
Hello,
Have same problem after flashing rom.
I thought that maybe I did it wrongly but also my friend discover this issue.
From time to time external keyboard not responding and on-screen keyboard is working but DEL key is also dead.
Also other buttons like green/red phone keys not respondig.
Sometimes problem disapper automaticaly sometimes I have to reset phone.
Any solution?

Has anyone found information on this problem? I have had my 8525 for about 6 months now and this has happened to me on the original shipped ROM as well as both Black 2.5 and 3.0.1.
It happens usually during texting, and like stated previously, sometimes it comes back on its own, and sometimes it takes a soft-reset to get it working again. I am able to finish the typing using the SIP before soft-resetting.
I haven't paid attention to whether or not the scroll wheel stops working or not. I'll keep an eye out for that. Also I can't figure out what's triggering this problem. It seems very random.
I would start to think it's a hardware problem since I have seen it on 3 different ROMs, but so many of us are experiencing the same issue.

Happens on my Vario 2 sometimes. I've put it down to me using the keyboard whilst the CPU is bogged down too much, and it just doesn't 'see' the interrupts coming from the keyboard I/O controller, and then it loses its sync.
I usually just soft reset at that point, because I can't be bothered to wait and see if it comes back

I have it sometimes when using IM and PIE. Closing PIE and waiting a couple of minutes usually brings it back.

Touchscreen occasionally stops working

Hi,
i have an intermittant problem that is getting more and more annoying...
The touchscreen stops working in normal mode (i.e. keyboard not out) but still works when I slide the keyboard out. If I slide the keyboard back in, the touchscreen stops working again!
Has anyone come across this? Is there a microswitch somewhere that isn't being turned on or off or something relative to the keyboard position?
Any help appreciated,
Cheers,
Liamo
yes I'm having the same problem over here and I'm in the middle of a buiness trip. earlier it got so bad I had to hard reset my phone because soft resetting the phone to fix the problem stopped working. so I lost every number I had in the middle of an important trip, costing me money. I'm so pissed. I did nothing special. I have molski's aku 3.2 rom with my own tmobile mms/gprs settings extended rom installed. I had it overclocked to 240 (i thought that was the problem). I had magic button, battery status plugin, aim hacked, mxcalculator, win live messenger, yahoo go!, a couple of basic registry hacks, all installed. let me know if you had anything in common so we can narrow down this problem. this has never happened before even with overclocking so I'm very worried.
I'm having the opposite problem. When I start to slide mine open it stops working.
yea im having the exact problem, i tried opening the phone up and checking all the connections, but no luck.

Keyboard un-responsive

Anyone else noticed the keyboard on their hermes becomes un-responsive at times or is it just my rom? Im runnign WM5 T-mobile uk standard rom and have noticed on several occasions the keyboard stops working. This is fixed by a reset of the device but i was wondering if im alone in this issue?
Thats happened to me a couple times already. I just do a soft reset and its good to go.
Happened to me a few hours ago. Again, just a quick reset solved it. It is kinda annoying though...
I have noticed it too, normally when popping out the keyboard a few times when sending a few texts
soft re-set's work to fix sometimes i can fix without restarting by closing the program i was using and reloading it but doesn't work all the time
am on the T-mobile Stock rom, i wonder if its a ROM bug or Hardware problem ?
htc 8525 cingular us few diff roms.. I had that at least ones on every single rom I tried
ether wm5 or 6 both do that..
softreset works but wish there was fix for that ..
Mine does this sometimes but all I do is hit the COMM manager button on the side and X out of it and it works fine again.. Just some goofy bug I was hoping was fixed in WM6 but no dice

QWERTY Keyboard Not Always Working

Lately I've had problems with my QWERTY keyboard not always working. It will work fine, then one time I will pull it out and stop typing and text doesn't appear. I have to reset the device in order to get it working again. Usually when it is not working, I can use the on-screen keyboard, but this is such a hassle and much slower. There have been a couple times when that wouldn't work either.
Has anyone else noticed this issue? I've been using CRCs ROM (the first ROM I installed). If it sounds like it might be a ROM issue and not a device or WM6 issue, does anyone have any ROM recommendations? I do not need a lot of features - just the basics will do as I intend to install SPB Mobile Shell and a couple other programs anyways, but I do desire something very stable.
I have the same problem occasionally... two different ways
Sometimes the program will stop taking text input. For example while typing a text mesage the keyboard will stop working, but if I hit the windows key the start menu will still appear. I have to kill the text messaging program and re launch to regain functionality. Also happens occasionally in IE.
Other times the keyboard itself will stop working, all of the buttons. In this case I have to close the phone, power the screen off for a couple seconds, power back on, and begin typing again.
It's very strange, and very unpredictable.

I don't send very many text messages so I'm not sure about those, but I usually notice using IE (that is the main place where I type anything) or inputting a new contact or something like that. I'm not sure about the windows key, although I think I tested a bunch of buttons and none of them worked.
Think it is a bug in the phone or a bug in the ROM? I have no idea...I've only used one ROM so far on 8525 (I tested a bunch out on the 8125 when I had one). I'm thinking about installing Binkys11 since I hear it is fast and stable. Maybe it won't be as big of a problem then.
Note: I also have a case with a magnetic strap. I thought maybe that was messing with it since I hear the magnet could do funny things to the phone...I'm not sure though....

Sense Keeps Crashing

im wondering if its just me..
most times, when the phone comes out of sleep, after i slide to unlock, it just hangs. i dont even get to see the clock, sometimes, it just shows a black screen, and sometimes, all i see is the lock screen..stuck.
i can push the start button, and it would work as normal, but i cant go home.. and everything else related to sense...music, settings, message, ..just crashes.
i always have to reboot phone to get it back to normal.
could there be something making it crash? ..and does it happen to anyone else?
yes it happens to me from time to time. sometime HD2 just lies on my desk and 'fall asleep'... cannot turn on the screen though all the buttons light up.
when this happens i have to call from my HD to turn HD2 on and when it's on, it's unstable, and i have to reboot it.
same problem
I have exactly the same problem. it just crashes for no reason. sometimes when WiFi is on. sometimes after I synchronize. sometimes if only plugged out of the charger.
it was in version 1.48 and kept happening even after I upgraded to 1.66
I hope this has a fix or something or atleast a way to restart sense because the Windows button works, phone works, except the volume, the turn off and the settings in the start menu..
help!
thank you in advance.
Same problem here. Freezes at the lock screen and the lights appear from the buttons. Occurring with worrying frequency now. Twice in the last three days. Any ideas?
folks, do report your issues here .. i have a feeling that this is a known hardware issue by HTC and they are just keeping veru quiet about this.

I am really really disappointed with HTC HD2 he came out with some many bugs that i am after 2 months of hade and love affair really considering divorcing ones for all.
Nice looking screen but no reliable atall enough is enough

Screen goes crazy after a few minutes.

Hi all,
I've recently switched to Android Roms on my HD2 after years of playing around with WM on it (as well as older HTC phones). However, this is the first time I ever encounter this problem:
After I had installed my first Android ROM (NexusHD2 v2.3; later updated to v2.4) I have been having a very weird problem with my touchscreen.
After a few minutes of reboot and working on my HD2, the screen goes crazy. It becomes uncontrollable, it starts switching from one tab to another, it becomes unresponsive to my taps, it won't click where I tap (it taps somewhere else), also it starts opening apps by itself (tapping by itself).
What is weird is that after a few seconds of this craziness, the touchscreen returns to normal functioning.
I searched for this problem online but couldn't get anything. I tried another ROM (Hyperdroid v9) but then after a few minutes of the flash, the same crazy behavior started.
This problem is really starting to make me hate my phone. Typing on the keyboard is the worst; and forget about browsing (clicks links randomly) or even gameplay.
I really hope someone could help me out. I hope this ends up to be a software issue. However if you think this is definitely a hardware one, do you have any suggestions on how I could fix it?
(I live in Lebanon, and in my country sending the phone for service is out of the question)
Sorry for the long text but I'm really getting desperate over this thing..
Best,
I'm going to switch back to WM6.5 in order to check whether this is an issue from Android or—hopefully not—a hardware one.
