Help!!! VOIPBUSTER & HTC HERMES - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam General

Hello,
I follow these instructions to use voipbuster on my htc TyTN (Hermes) and it does not work properly, but as soon as I connect the headphones that comes in the box, the device freezes and does not work at all.
The only way it works, but not very well, is without the headphones, and as you all know, the speaker doesn´t sound very well too, and of course i want some privacy to talk to.
Here are the instructions I followed:
Right click on SJPhone. Select Option menu and then click in Profiles tab. Click on new button, type the name of your profile (i recommend voipbuster) and select Profile "Calls though SIP proxy) and click OK button. A new window appears.
In this new windows click on SIP Proxy tab an fill the following fields: Proxy Domain: sip.voipbuster.com : 5060, User Domain: sip.voipbuster.com; Accept other fields defaults by pressing OK Button.
Finally, Right click on SJPhone and select Restart option. You user id and password will be asked.
This should work for you since it did for me.
Thanks in advance

jumanji1212,
Why don't you use he internal VOIP in stead of SJPhone? It works very good, even with Voipbuster. The only disadvantage is that you can not usernames.
And sorry, I do not know SjPhone very well. Used it ones to check it out.
Good luck

what is the internal VOIP ??????
thanks for your reply buddy

VOIP
Read it here. For any question, reply.

Pufffffffffff, what a mess!!! I don´t understand anything. The fact is I install the very same program on my HTC TyTN and in the qtek 9000 (Univeral), but only works properly on my Universal device, with and without the headphones. But it does not work on my TyTN (Hermes) properly without using the headphones and as soon as I plug the headphones, the TyTN freezes at all.
Both devices have the WM5, and don´t know what can I do.
Sorry for my lack of pda-culture but I have no idea about the link you posted before.

Headphone
Sorry, I can not test how VOIP acts with a headphone. Yesterday I send my TyTN to the repaircenter, because of the screen-alignment-error.
When I get it back, I will test it myself. I will give you my report.

ok, thanks tembares

This CAB will get you using the wm6 VOIP software. The bluetooth issue is discussed in another thread. You will have to pipe all of your audio VIA the bluetooth driver. I believe sluth has a fix. I will do some searching for you. Dont let me do all the searching tho

RE: bluetooth

RE: bluetooth
i was wondering if it is possible to send a message using bluetooth, like with the Nokia phones, where you search for a bluetooth device nearby, and then send a message.
also, when my device is paired up with my computer, i can not seem to be able to use more than one connection, e.g.: if i'm using my bluetooth headset, i can't sync the Himalaya. i was wondering if it is normal or not.
in connection with bluetooth and the computer, i can't see any service other than these two: "OBEX Object Push" and "SSA"
are these the only two service available from the device, or are there more?
thanks in advance...
p.s.: i use a Widcomm stack for my D-Link bluetooth dongle
Hi,
To chat with other devices, you can use:
http://www.mysql.com/downloads/mysqlcc.html
Depending on your settings, you normally can use more services at once from your computer...
http://www.geekzone.co.nz/content.asp?contentid=449
Hope this helps...
Sam
hey,
the MySQL thing is not available for the Himalaya, only for a desktop PC.
i looked through the website of geekzone, but i could not find anything about multiple bluetooth connections
thanks for your help tho...

PocketBlueChat.exe
hmm...can i know what the program is, and how good it is, according to experiences, so as not to mess up my brand new Himalaya, pls?
also, i went and googled on the program and found this out:
Before downloading pocketBlueChat, make sure you meet all the prerequisites:

does this mean that it won't work on my Himalaya?
Hi,
Sorry for the MySQL-link... The wrong link was on my clipboard... :?
I posted too fast...
I wanted to enter the link of PocketBlueChat (the other post)...
You can find some more information on http://www.thegedanken.com/Bluechat/ (this should be the right one)... Sorry...
It works great! The only problem is that the other client also needs BlueChat, but it's only one "exe", so you can beam it to your other contact!
Sam
o ok
i was hoping for something like nokia's bluejacking system
you send a person a contact through bluetooth, and this contact contains a message. i see that's not possible by default, but i wonder if there is an add on for it

How did you get yours to work?
Put on bluetooth and softreset, it work.

Hi all,
Just a short 'FYI': I've installed the PPC2003SE version of the SJPhone client on my wizard (my provider just introduced a voip service), and it seems to work just fine. Quality is fine, much better than Skype (although I haven't tried the new beta from Skype yet).

I have downloaded the version succesfully on my .

How to implement and to use now on my. Anybody knows??
This software doesn't support Skype calls, correct?
SjPhone is a great app, I use it every day to call .
To use it you will basically need the parameters from you service (voipbuster, netappel, etc.) and of course your username + passwd
For different settings you can check:
http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/
For example for voipbuster create a new profile in Options, then just enter :
sip server : sip1.voipbuster.com
domain : voipbuster.com
stun server : stun.voipbuster.com (I also check the send discovered IP in the STUN tab)
Then click ok, and enter your username+passwd and check "Store blablabla..."
Voila
Oh cool, just trying to play with this... but how do you guys answer? When it rings I get a notification window, but with no options and thus can't answer unless I use the "Auto-accept calls" feature...

No, it does not support SPYke.
SPYke have their own protocol (not public), whereas SJPhone is based on the public protocols (SIP, IAX).

first you need an account on their network (netappel, voipbuster and others belong all to sipdiscount.com).
So download the voipbuster app on your PC from www.voipbuster.com, install it, then create an account. This step is necessary to create an account for your PPC later.
Now download SJPhone
http://www.sjlabs.com/softphone/SJphone-PPC2003SE-303c.exe
and install it on your PPC via ActiveSync or whatever (you launch the exe on your computer while the PPC is conected )
After install discaonnect your PPC from the PC, enable wi-fi, connect to the internet and then launch SJPhone from your PCC StartMenu -> Programs.
Then go in the Menu to Options and chose the Profiles tab and click on new. Give it a name like voipbuster, click ok and the intput the settings above in the SIP Proxy tab and the STUN tab.
Then click ok and your ready to ... make calls on the free destinations.
If you wanna be called or to call more destinations, add some credit to your account by logging in with your username and passwd on www.voipbuster.com from your PC.
After adding credit you can also have an inbound number for the others to call you.
Good luck

I also ran into the problem of not being able to answer calls. I partially solved the issue by going to the 'CE Options' tab in the options menu, and assigning other buttons for 'accept' and 'reject' calls. I used the wizard's 'left' and 'right' buttons, as these are situated right next to the 'answer' and 'reject' buttons. This works just fine.

One cool application is if you have an Avaya IP Office PBX they have a softphone that runs on PPC with WiFI you can connect back to the office.
I'm still playing with it on WM5 but It's been working pretty well.
I installed this on my K-Jam and it seems to work fine apart from a couple of issues. The other party says they can hear themselves as clear and loud as they can hear me. Is there anyway to improve the echo cancellation? Ideally, I would like the voice to be transmitted through the ear piece and not the speakers.
Also, the call gets dropped after about 2 minutes. I'm sitting right next to my router so wifi signal is strong. Does anyone else exprience this dropping of calls? Also, after the call is dropped I cannot initiate another call unless I close SJphone and toggle my wifi off and on then restart sjphone. Are others also seeing this?
Accessing numbers from outlook is very slow on my phone too.
Otherwise received voice quality and the voice quality on the receiving end is good.
When is the WM5 version going to be ready?
a WM5 beta version of SJPhone is now available here
It handles screen rotation fine and fixed the incomming call notifcation to work on windows mobile 5.
Nobody seemed to answer my question
Is anybody else getting a bad echo? The other party says they get a bad echo when I call them with SJPhone. I can't get the sound to come from the ear piece only the speakers so I am guessing the other party heres their own voice from the speakers.
What's everyone else doing - using headsets?

VoIP Compatible Dialer ( SIP ) with TyTn?

Hello,
I've been using the TyTn for a few months now and I still haven't found a good quality SIP compatible Dialer...
Of course i've tried all the well known voip applications ( SJPhone, Skype and even Bewip etc. ) but none of them come close to a good replacement of the default TyTn dialer.
Actually I though bewip would do the trick as it integrates well with the contacts but quality sucks, I have to use the headset to have acceptable quality call...
I just wanted to know if any of you were using their TyTn as a VoIP device over WiFi and been satified with their software...
Thanks
Not SIP, bux IAX...I travel a lot and use VoIP in airport lounges etc. SIP usually does not get me through the local firewall. IAX protocol is much better and smarter in that regard, so I would recommend you to look at it if you like: http://www.voipsurfer.net/, around 25 euros and a simple interface.

Can u tell me ur Sjphone settings? I got an account with VoipBuster for SJPhone but when i try it 2 use it in my TYTN, I always get a registratio error message... Thank you!
Usually when the internet access is "locked" I redirect all the trafic through an openvpn server that runs on port 443...
The problems with voipsurfer and SJPhone is that they aren't replacement dialers. You don't have access to the Phonebook. If you want a good quality call, you absolutely need a headset ( you can't use them as a phone ).
I just wonder why there is no such software on the Windows Mobile plateform : The lateste nokia/sony-erricson etc. handset features well integrated VoIP solutions...

Anyone know of voip software that works with a bluetooth headset and mic (R35), as my wired headset is broken (I don't like it anyway as the buds are too big for my ears), and SJPhone doesn't seem to work with it (I hear no sound, nobody hears me).
AGEPHONE
it was an never ending story for me untill i found agephone. http://www.ageet.com/us/agephone/index.htm
you can try it with - there is a shareware version with that you can do calls for one minute, so you are able to check out the bluetooth compability.
STUN Support is given here too!

I would appreciate it if you could help me with configuration settings for free world dialup, or point me to comprehensive documentation. I have completely failed to make the correct settings using the support settings on the ageet site, also from the fwd help. The problem is that I don't understand which information to add in the configuration screens, as the labels to the forms are unfamiliar to me and do not seem to equate to the account and server information which fwd provide.
I would like to use STUN.
Any help you can provide would be appreciated.

It doesn't work through my Draytek NAT.

Might work better.

One last call before abandonning.
I have very few of the problems most people associate with the tytn. No screen issues, no problems with skipping under a2dp, nada.
apart from one....
I cannot find a functional voip program using either the handset mic and speaker, or a bluetooth headset. I cannot use the wired headset.
Somebody recommended agephone but I am completely unable to configure the phone to owrk with free world dialup.
Can anybody recommend a suitable solution, or help me configure agephone?
I am using SJPhone gladly with success.
I just would like to have video support.
Any SIP client with video support ?

VOIP software...Whats the latest now?

hello evryone,
sorry if this has been mentioned many times.
i have my beloved HTC TD, with shine 2.4 Full and Radio 05.
i am pleased with it , only missing part is to be able to use VOIP/Sip Calls.
i have been browsing this forums for many pages, and there are many unsolved and unfinished threads about the voip problem in HTC TD.
1. SJphone
2. Sip config tool
3. hidden sip manager
4. wm61voip.cab
i have tryed all, and i havent had luck yet to be able to use my voipbuster account on my phone..
My last phone was a nokia n95, symbian, was soo easy to setup voip and make quality calls, please dont tell me that a windows mobile is that hard to enable sip calls
so has anyone a define working solution for voip/sip on HTC TD? or is this half dead topic for now?
thanx
Sonic
Hi Sonic,
I have finally managed to make VOIP possible to work on my TouchD, I dont exactly remember the actual post but I will say that all the credit goes to the XDA Developer forum who has got some decent people eager to help.
Basically my problem was the TomTom's GPS com port was getting engage whenever VOIP was enabled, but finally solved the problem.
Procedure and necessary files attached (You have to only download Resco Explorer)(http://www.resco.net/pocketpc/explorer/default.asp)
Let me know please.

Hi Sonic,
I'm using SJPhone without any trouble with a Justvoip account (another Finarea voip, like VoipBuster).
I give you how I did the configuration for it:
On General, in name you put VoipBuster, Type SIP Proxy
Iniatialization: mark all in account and password
SIP Proxy: Proxy domain: sip.voipbuster.com, port 5060; User domain (your username). Mark Register with proxy and Proxy is strict outbound
on the last tab (stun) put in server address: stun.voipbuster.com with port 3478
And that's all. You need to have credit in your voipbuster account. You must put the password in the 1st time use in your SJPhone.
Cheers,
Gonzalo

cannot complete the call. the signal may be unavailbe or the phone number may not be valid please try again.
i have the +45andphonenumber when i call.

im gonna skip voip on htc for now. untill maybe a proper solution comes out.
i might try SJpone with wifi sometime. but im gonna uninstall all the voip drivers now and hope that i can get my gps running,

Hi Sonic,
That is such a shame as you have already decided to quit VOIP on your device.
If you follow the instructions as it is then there is no doubt that it wouldn't work, as I have HARD-Reseted my Diamond 4 times since I have got this procedure and everytime I am going through the same procedure and everytime VOIP & TomTom GPS really works.
And yes on 3G & HSDPA connection as well as WiFi (obviously Wifi is much faster & clearer all the time)
For the issue of TODAY entry you have to use the application "2nd Today" (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=401907)(I can't send you the screenshot as my Diamond is off for replacement for the bloody short battery life)
Actually 2nd Today will change one of the soft key on the main/Home Tf3D screen to your defined word e.g. VOIP, once you click that soft button, the TF3D will hide and you would see your normal Today screen, on this screen you have another Soft Button to go back to TF3D. Simple
For the issue of making a call some VOIP providers indicate to attach a "9" before the number to let the provider understand that you are calling from a handheld device not from PC (e.g. actual number 555666333, Dialing number from handheld 9555666333), check your VOIP provider thay must say something regarding this.
Anyway GoodLuck

Hi Sonic,
That is such a shame as you have already decided to quit VOIP on your device.
Sid

Tested. Works a treat.
It's just that sometimes, it doesn't detect when I get connected to the wifi, I have to turn internet call off and then reset it on 'whenever available' for it to sense that the phone is connected to the internet.

Hi OS-ZloyMuh,
Thanks so much for that but I have one question, have you made this CAB according to the procedure I have posted earlier like 1,2,then 3 overwrite?
Please explain as it could be a big help.
Regards
Sid

I have VOIP running on my Diamond from day one while using GPS in Ozi, TomTom, TrackMe and other software as you can see from attached Today screen also VOIP is active. The trick is that you need to kill one file after installing VOIP. This file DNSapi.dll is preventing you to use your GPS. After deleting it and soft reset it will create automatically a new DNSapi.dll and all will be well.
Do the following after you have VOIP installed and working. (and your GPS is killed)
In your Today screen set Internet calling OFF
Soft reset
Use file explorer or Total Commander to delete DNSapi.dll
Soft reset
Switch Internet Calling ON
Ready.
Finally! GPS stays working! Howeverrrrrrrrr... Unlike the other version of the VoIP cab I used, this one let's the sound go over the EXTERNAL speaker... and that sucks balls... (Sorry for my choice of words ) Everyone can hear what I hear...
In other words... How do I fix this? VoIP over the internal speaker AND let GPS work...
I seem to be having problems calling mobiles... Everything else works fine, including GPS...
Can I change something in the dialplan to make it work? if so, what?

You have to keep the Today Voip plugin as "Available", you have to only click and "Selected" it once you have to make a VOIP call.
In the situation of "Available" you will still be able to receive the VOIP & normal calls.
In other word, if you will select the voip then you can not use the normal phone.
So keep it on "Available".

Yes this is the problem and I think there is no solution for that untill unless you try to use a Bluetooth headset (I haven't tried this idea by myself).
Let me know if you try this option.

Sorry, my bad, I didn't explain very well... I understand what you've said above, and of course I only use 'selected' while I want to make a voip call, but when in that state I am unable to make voip calls to mobiles... I get an error telling me the number may be invalid

I have a different approach. I load WMWIFIRouter on HD, which creates a Wlan and connect a Netgear Skype Handy to this Wlan.
I knoe it a different way but... just a suggestion.

Great sollution! But i dont want to need my laptop for making a phonecall to my asterisk server

Only if you use skype or msn.
I am almost sure that Fring servers will not be a proxy if you use SIP.

I know what you mean..... And yes i've tried
But I can't find a way of putting WM6VOIP.cab working with the normal Earpiece.... Just like Fring do....
hmm you need the speakerswitch ... pm me your mail adress.. i will send it to you
Ok so... I've been using VoIP for a while on the HD and those are my findings:
1) WM6VOIP.CAB messes things up with GPS, eg. you will no longer be able to use GPS nor uninstal voip.cab.. so if you want your HD fully functional (as before the installation of the cab).. you have to Hard Reset!
2) My operator (Wind - Italy) blocks VOIP on their HSDPA/3G line therefore forcing you to use WiFi BUT if you use WIFI normally when the phone turns the display off to save power it also disables WiFi.. ending the call. You have to use then Advanced Config to disable this behaviour (always on mode for WiFi)..
I made also different tests and tried different programs and at the end of the day I found the voip experience with WinMo to be very unpleasant at the point where you gladly pay a bit more to make phone calls the traditional way.. (do not forget that you have a consistent lag while speaking in VOIP)..

Hi Eraser85,
There is a solution for the GPS problem with wm6voip.cab there is no hard reset required..
for your 3g problem:
Have you tried to uncheck the checkbox "This connections connects with a proxy server" in your connection settings..
That will help a lot when youre trying to call via 3g
the lag issue is a very little problem. When a call is for free i dont have any problems with that
