No Speaker Audio on my Dopod 838 pro(Hermes) - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam General

guys - gals.... I have upgraded to black 2.0, and I am not sure if that or if a drop caused the total loss of sound, but everything else works fine. I had Kuphers 2.0 before and no problems. I guess i cant even remember if the sound work after black installation. So strange. The speaker works and i can install a headset. but no speaker volume. should i reflash?
olipro latest radio 1.40 or 38 i think and have never had any upgrade problems in the past.

What about a soft reset?
If not I would maybe reflash..

Plug the wired headset in. if the sound works through here, but not through the speaker, chances are the drop has done the speaker in. reflash the original rom and send it to the repair centre. will probably cost you though.....

ok i might the dopod test rom
Strange that headset and tested a bluetooth stereo headset all work. no speaker sound. Probably try reflashing. I did register it with dopod, so at least i am covered there unless they are picky about rom cooking.. i kind of miss the U got mail references typical in the Dopod Roms. Ironic that they have a leaked wm6. thanks

No phone speaker/headset; all other sounds OK

I have a sound problem that does not appear to be reported earlier in this forum.
All the sounds are OK but I cannot hear the other party while on the phone. Same problem with the wired headset. When I use a bluetooth headset or a car kit all is OK. When I try the loud speaker the sound is cracking and unclear.
I recently upgraded and downgraded. Current version is 1.72.00WWE
Thanks
Qtek 2020 - Vodafone Network
OS 1.72.00WWE
Radio 1.14.00
ExtRom 1.66.130
maybe you use the headsets or car kit too much... using those for some time damages the headset port making the phone act like it is in headset mode most of the time...
If that would be the case then I should not hear anything at all. But I can hear every sound exept the phone. If I use the headset I cannot hear the phone either!
btw, I hardly use the headset and the machine is only 1 month old...[/i]
i don't know... but maybe it's because of the ROM you got.. upgrading and downgrading might have messed up the functions... try going back to the orig ROM..
I have sent it back to the vendor. They are going to fix it...
Thanks.

new rom = no voice over the phone!!! help.

i upgraded to the new K-Jam rom from the Clubimate ftp site, and it upgraded very nice, i noticed alot of speed issues on the new rom (but that maybe because of the arabic extrom) and i decided to live with it.
BUT...
when i wanted to make a phone call, i had these problems:
1- it didn't connect to my Jabra bt500 headset, even though it's paired & shows in the bt list of paired devices.
2- the sound didn't come out of the speaker, it works ok through the loud speakerphone, but not through the speaker.
i downgraded back to the previouse rom thinking it would work back normal, but it didn't, i'm still stuck with the out-of-order speaker.
can anyone help me in this? is there something i can do before taking it to the service center?
thanks.

Cingular 8125 and A2DP Hissing Sound

Hi,
I have been all around this forum and tried all the different kinds of things to fix the a2dp. I have installed the cabs, tried AKU rom, tried the widcomm stack.
The only thing with somewhat success was using the widcomm stack, which improved the quality to a reasonable degree, but then my headset will not work with calls. Call audio still comes through the phone instead of the headset.
Has anyone been successful in making the headset work without the hiss, or to make the widcomm stack work with calls and with music? And maybe there are settings u can change for widcomm like there were for the MS stack to make the hiss go away?..
I don't know what to do, can someone share their experience and how they got their HT820 and 8125 working with good sound quality (no hissing)
Thanks for your help,
Riley
same problem
Yes, I have the same problem with the hissing sound! I got a Moto HT820 running with all the features it has but it souds awful. Especially the clanking snare drum in some music tracks crack my ears .
I have installed the tornado_a2dp.cab from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=263745. Most in that thread don't complain about the sound. Further more they say it's great. What can I do?
Have QTek GER, CE2.18.7, ExtRom 2.18, Radio 2.07.10 on my device.
You see my English is exclusively school made I hope you understand me out there.
Anyone have an idea or solve the problem? Maybe another .cab or some with better sound?
It has everything to do with the headset you're using.
I used the tornado hack and didn't complain about sound at all because my A2DP headsets sound great! In fact, as good if not better than wired speakers...
Problem is, I later tried an i.tech R35, and it sounded awful... suddenly there's a hiss and ping distortion that wasn't there on my other A2DP headsets, yet they sound great when paired with a nokia phone or my PC for music.
Apparently, there is an incompatibility between MS A2DP and certain headset implementations. Something to do with the compression... anyway, no amount of tweaking has helped yet. We need someone at MS to re-write the compression codec, and that simply hasn't happened. Since some headsets DO work fine, I believe Microsoft has denied that there is a problem!

Incomming Caller Hears Loud Buzz When Using Bluetooth Headset

Any ideas what could be causing this or more importantly how to fix it?? Thanks! the headset is a aliph jawbone
Did you try using a different headset? From my experiences, even the same brand of headsets can have different voice quality depending on the model.
it is defiantly not the headset. This brand is the BEST ONE on the market. I just reinstalled my phone and have the same problem but i refuse to believe it is the headset. I am going to try it on a different phone tonight.
it could be the jawbone.. and no its not the BEST ONE on the market as u put it.. try another BT and see if u hear the sound.. if u dont then guess what its your BEST ONE jawbone.. but if u do hear the sound its your bluetooth so try updating the radio
i tried the jawbone with another phone and it works on that. So it IS the wizard. And yes it is the best, unless you happen to have a recommendation for another one because it looks like i might be in the market for a new one. Any idea what i could update my radio to? I just updated to molski.biz's newest rom so i have
ROM: 3.3.0.0
IPL: not included
SPL: not included
Radio: 1.19.11
AKU: AKU3.3
i really want to get this thing going this headset is immaculate.
okay i updated the radio rom to 2.69 and it is STILL happening. I have found one other report of this happening with a wizard on the web somewhere and there was no solution on there. Is it my wizard? Other bluetooth things work fine (my GPS works perfectly) And once connected This one works gine also. it is just this initial loud buzzing noise.
It doesn't even happen if i pick it up form the phone then there is noise.
it only seems to happen when i hit the "call accept" button on the side of my bluetooth headset.
i remember my jabra 250v not working w/ my samsung t809 but other ear peices would.. however, my buddies jawbone works with my 8525.. i recommend taking the ear peice to cingular store and have them try to pair it with one of thier phones.. either a 8125 or 8525 or even 3125 and see if it works without any issues..
i think i am going to do that on friday. i have like another 20days before i have to return it. Thank you for your help. This is so lame i really REALLY love the headset :-/
I use a Motorola Handsfree BT kit in my car and with my 8125 callers hear the same thing. It's not as loud if I hit the answer button on my phone vs. the Motorola remote answer button.
It was a lot worst before I flashed my phone with WM6. Seems better now.
My theory is that it's feedback from the phone's mic with my set but if you are using a headset that wouldn't be the case.
My callers will have to put up with it.
Scott
sounds like the exact same problem
so lame. i wonder if it is hardware defect.
I have an MDA with a jawbone as well and my callers say they hear the same loud buzz!
Okay so it is probably a problem with the phone it self, i bet it is how sensitive the mic is. The Jawbone and it's very sensitive mic and a bluetooth car one that also probably has a very sensitive mic both have the issue. I wonder if theres any solution to this.
Try turning off the vibrate option on the phone- that solved this exact same problem for me...
can anyone verify that? i stupidly returned my jawbone yesterday before i saw it cause i had given up hope but i'd gladly by a new one if that was true =) (headset > vibration imo) Thanks!
I have a Plantronics 640 and disabling vibrate solves the problem for me.
So. Lame. Oh well. looks like i need to rebuy my headset. Doh. Thanks all for your input. Someone should add htis to a wiki/faq as it is a very cruddy problem.

Problems with Jabra BT8040

Hey, is anyone using the bluetooth headset Jabra BT8040, When I first bought the headset, I had no problems using it. But I've noticed a few months ago, that whenever I use the device, the person I'm calling wont be able to hear me but I can hear them. Anyone have any ideas to solve this problem?
Similar problems
I've got the same earpiece and I've had some problems with it, including: unable to pair (or saying it's paired when it really isn't), unable to connect the BT on a call, and sometimes the earpiece will just disconnect from the phone (but the call will still remain active).
That last one is the closest I've come to your issue. I usually have to put the phone in discovery mode (and the earpiece) and try repairing them from scratch.
I've heard from others with this earpiece that they haven't had problems, but I don't know anyone who has this earpiece and the Raphael. Also, I've got the Motorola S9 bt headphones and I haven't had any problems with them. So, I'm not 100% it's the earpiece but then again it could be.
i have this jabra for about 6 months and had no problem at all with Raphael!
Changed ROM
I've just changed the ROM on my phone (as in signature line) so that may change things for me with the Jabra BT.

I'm using the updated ROM and radio in my signature line with the Jabra BT8060 (wasn't it? whatever the one we were talking about in this post is) as well as a Motorola S9 and I pair it with my laptop for internet access that way. So far I have not had the same troubles with the Jabra BT as I used to. It could be due to updated drivers for the BT or the fact that I'm not using TF3D (just the new WM6.5 interface).
Either way, I'm having good results so far.
I spoke too soon on BT...
I've spoken too soon on BT. I was trying to get my Motorola S9 working so I could listen to music from my phone. No luck at all - it shows the S9 connected for both the calls and the the music, but it only works on calls and the music plays on the device with the speaker. And it was working just fine this morning. Bluetooth in general is so frustrating to me that I would literally remove it from every costom ROM I use EXCEPT for "Internet Sharing" (on an Acer laptop and netbook) over bluetooth and activesync with a PC. Not just with this phone, but seriously, with BT 2.0 it should work A LOT BETTER than it does.
I have similar issues with several different Moto H700's. I can hear them but they can not hear me. Possibly the BT drivers from HTC need a fix????
