Wisbar Advance2 icon conflicts? - JASJAR, XDA Exec, MDA Pro General

I'm in the process of customizing the look of my Exec, but I've ran into a small problem. It seems that the default battery icon and the O2 won't go away. I'm using Wisbar with a Juni Sci-fi theme everything looks great except those 2 out of place icons. How do I get rid of them? I believe they are the default icons because they can be moved from side-to-side.
On a side note how would I make the Juni icons bigger?
thanks.

I reckon, the O2 active is causing the problem. IMO, it can uninstalled. Unistall that app and see if the problem persists.
AFA juni's icons are concerned, you cannot make them look big. Try some other themes(like mac os x by pixel, xcillion's vista skin etc)
PS:you can hard-reset and since you are using the official O2 rom, go in for corporate mode install(code:0506). This'll prevent O2 active of getting installed

Thanks Kdskamal, yeah I did install the corporate mode using that code, but O2 active is still visible in my programs folder. So is there any other way to remove it other than Hard resetting it? I do remember removing it through the Add/remove programs but I guess it didn't completely remove it huh?
thanks

The easiest way for you ll be getting a trial copy of sk tools. Use the uninstaller of it to uninstall it completely.
Do let us know if it worked

How about Pocket Mechanic? Can I use it to do the same thing? I'm a Noob, when it comes to things Pocket PC

VGA files here!!

This is as far as its got so far
ftp://ftp.xda-developers.com/Uploads/Universal/VGA so far.zip
Note to have your own windows boot screen replace with your own welcomehead.96.png
You use at own risk, nothing to do with me, but ive not had any troubles so far. This will create a security hole in your WM5 windows system.
thanks for the efforts carnivor, but i dont think the ftp is working, or basically i cant access it. tried the browser and an ftp client. cannot connect to the server, it times out.
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=BA_FTP_Site
access the ftp through there
Would love to give it a go, but just not quite brave enough - anyone post any screengrabs of some popular screens to see?
Thanks a bunch for creating the zip file, Carnivor. Makes things nice and easy
I managed to rip the MSN messenger dlls from my kjam. Here they are. Messenger now works fine in VGA mode.

Those files were set with Read Only and System attributes and Activesync refused to copy those files to my Jasjar until I removed those attributes. After that they copied fine.
Thanks for the files

wicked, just popping them onto me JJ now, i was going to ask if someone could post them from another phone, the site was down, it was horrible i was awfully lost without it
What do the VGA Messenger dll's do exactly?

Allow MSN Messenger to work when in real VGA mode. Without them the app just hangs or fails to start up.
Ok, those dll's are purrrfect!!!!!
ive attached the latest vga stuff time date stamped
its got the msnm dl''s alldone in it.
also i dont really think the phone skin is going to be a major problem, i see on buzz's site they're skinning the phone app, i used a couple of the tweaks to change my qvga dialler background, so maybe the rest aint as hard as first thought. I say that in the tense that buzz prob speant hours of brain cells working it all out.
Ohh rilot, you are a deamon, msn this res is wicked!!! 22 contacts in landscape mode, godda be some kind of a record, i mean its actually useful now, better than the usual 2 is it? hehe
Can anyone post some screengrabs?
I'll try to get some screenshots up tonight.
V
here ya go, was before i started playing with the ozvga settings tho, looks better now
Carnivor, looks lovely: get the feeling that guy in the first pic just felt his trouser pocket distend and rip with the jasjar. Man, I'm afriad to pocket it and get a hernia. But it has such a nice solid feel to it, like a mini tombstone. They should advertise that as a feature! Engraved...
I've also noticed that I can feel the electric charge buzz when using it and holding the metalic top. I'd be careful of using it in the bath!
Carnivor: how do you find wisbar's skinning? Does it impact on speed? It's quite cool.
V
wisbar is good, the .12 is alot better, but you do still notice the improvement when you close it.
buzz, i was refering to buzz_lightyear, a guru on things wm based
Ok I'm a nOOb here, can someone tell me what to do with the .CAB file in the archive ?
Please
Carnivor, this is just awesome! Working well with WA2 AND WAD! Quite surprised was I!
Some issues I am having that u may already know how to solve, in which case I'd appreciate ur input:
- Fonts tough on eyes. What changes do u recommend over and above ozVGA settings?
- Some dialog boxes only show half the text b4 the yes/no buttons overwrite the bottom part. Any ideas?
- PIN pad is all overlapped; not a big deal
- BUT, phone pad is a bit of an issue; too small and I have to turn off quickdial. Any ideas on this?
- My SIP keyboard loses its skin. Can the skins on buzz's board be applied somehow?
- Calculator keys too small; do u know of a working calc app cos I truly need a calculator available at all times
- My oh-so-pretty WA2 and WAD hi-res themes need to take a trip back to low-res world else the buttons are too big! Darn!
I'm gonna try sticking to this mode. Hell, all the apps I've got working well on WM5/VGA work just as well under this mode, so why go back? and PIE is OH SO PRETTTTTTYYYY!!!!
PS: What do u use for screen shots on WM5? Would like to post a few of mine.

hmmm.... that's what i'm thinking - for the Today screen anyway. i wanna be able to read the stuff here with a glance, and the teeny fonts make that difficult. is there anything we can do about this?

Athena/Ameo Tray Applet...

Hi all. Need some help please. I had recently used the 'hide' TrayApplet program but after uninstalling Spb Shell, decided that I could do with it being back, but don't want large icons on my Today screen again.
Hkey_Local_Machine\SOFTWARE\HTC\TrayApplet
above I found the links to each of the icons in the tray and can successfully point them to programs of my choice. Great!!
No! The links now work a treat, but the old icons remain the same (therefore hard to distinguish what does what until you tap it).
Does anyone know how to or where the registry entries are for the icons in the TrayApplet? e.g when I tap on the web n walk icon, I now get my configured Internet Explorer, but no associated icon.
Any help appreciated.
No one here hot on Reg-editing? Tried looking at the Universal wiki and their Reg hacks, but it most of it seems to be filed using different naming conventions and some alternative methods.
In any event. The above post shows where the links are (in seperate folders)....which can be permanently deleted and will then remove them from the TrayApplet.
Thanks for the info. I am still trying to decide what to do with the tray on my phone.
Try this cab file.........i'm using it on my Ameo now. It creates a programe in your programe folder with which you can turn on/turn off your tray applet as you wish. Hope it helps
Sorry MACKABY007, never read your firsy post correctly oooops
thank you!

No probs neildunne..at least you tried to help.
And someone else has benefitted from your answer.
Is there a simple regedit to enable/disable the trayapp?
Yep there is
Yes you can do it manually.
Go to HKLM\init and create a strin Launch92 and give it the value TrayAp.exe. When you want to remove it delete the key.
Can somebody post the HTCHomeplug plugin so I can use this one instead of the taskbar?
WA3 will solve it.
I'm happy. God is listening.
System Tray Features
* Added the ability to place program icons on the system tray.
On the screenshot above, you'll see icons that don't normally appear on the system tray. WisBar Advance 3 now allows you to place icons on the tray as a "quick launch" bar, similar to iLauncher and several other software packages.
Get it here:

I too would like to remove this tray bar at the bottom. I dont like it and cannot find how to remove it on my X7500.
I know how to do it on my universal, but the registry is not the same.
Any light on this would be greatly appreciated
Thanks

Thanks from me for this too.
Although I am curious to know... from the community at large perhaps... the Today screen is evidently made up of a series of components... TSk files for the theme... applet files for additional display options... the HTC plug-in software to modify the HTC HomePlugin etc.
It seems a bit odd to me... given the apparent effort put into theme creation software by quite a few writers... that those same coders stopped where they did... at themes.
It seems like only half of the job... even the admittedly-clever HTC Home Plug-in Customiser goes that far and no further.
I'd expect at least one developer to come up with a more comprehensive product... the modules do exist as separate entities... theme designers... plug ins and customisers... and especially with the advent of WM6 and VGA screens...
I've had two Blue Angels now for a couple of years. It never occurred to me to play with themes. The only modfication of the desktop was from whatever software went in and did so as part of the package... XCPU Scalar and some SPB items for example. I never even bothered to upgrade the Windoze from 2003SE. Everything seemed to work alright, and most software that I try to use on it still does too.
Now we have two Ameos as well... both running different versions of WM6... different ROMs... one of which (the later) is T-Mobile.
And, probably due to the larger screen, I decided to take a look into the desktop.
The T-Mobile flavour did indeed come with this Tray App, and it is only today and on here (naturally) that I have actually found out the designation of the thing.
XCPUScalar knew all about it long before I did, and stuck it's Speed, Reset, and Off buttons in it.
The other Ameo came with what I think may be a vanilla (HTC) version of WM6 and the HTC Home Plug-in... and I only recently learned about that here too... none of this appears in the little manuals T-Mobile inlcude with the Ameo of course.
I wonder now, as I write, if a fairly basic and simple method of getting rid of the Tray App may simply be either removing it from the Windows folder or perhaps renaming it.
Either way, your method works well for me... as does XDA-developers per se... and without whom all HTC customers, whether members here or not, would be a great deal poorer.
Personally, I do wish that I understood a good deal more of the subject matter, especially in the deeper-delving posts... but at least with xda-developers being here... all of you... the possibility exists.
Thank You once again... all of you.

Need help removing programs from MDA

I'm using an MDA with ROM 2.26 and I want to remove t-zones and pocket msn or at least remove the shortcuts from my Today screen. I've searched and I can't figure it out. Can anyone help me with this?
Thanks

You can't uninstall a program that is inherent in a ROM. You can remove them from your Today screen, though.
Go to Start/Settings/Today.
Click on the "Items" tab.
Uncheck t-zones and Pocket MSN, along with anything else you want to remove.
Also, I haven't looked at the MDA ROM in quite a while, but if these programs also run themselves at boot, you might want to go into \\Windows\Startup to remove any .lnk files that point to them.
Nevermind, I found it.

You can also remove them from the start menu by going to Windows/Start Menu and deleting whatever shortcuts you don't want to see anymore.

Skin for SPB Mobile

Hi all
Does anyone know about a skin for SPB mobile that works on Xperia?
/Mike
http://www.imarche.net/omnia/index.php
Karsten
Have you tried it?
/Mike
I have tried it and found that the installation was complicated. I got totally "spammed" with different settings and skins to choose from during the setup. Maybe that's a good thing if you actually know what every choice you make will do. I would only recommend this if the setup was made easier.

Is that app also made for the SPB Panel?
Do you mean skins for SPB of for the SPB panel? Because those are two different things. You can alter the panel skin with the program at http://www.imarche.net/omnia/index.php but then it's going to be all fu-up.
I have installed this program and it works for the Shell Panel, which is really good and it allows you to change the skin and also all of the icons from so many different options, it is really good, the only problem i can find is that it keeps giving me 2 status bars at the top showing network, battery and clock,
anyone who has installed this know how to get rid of the second status bar???????
EDIT: actually the whole setting up thing for this is far too complicated and doenst actually work properly, all i want to do is change the background colours etc, anybody know how to do that?
