Button assignment - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam General

Can anyone help...When trying to play any sort of arcade game on my SPV M3100, I am unable to use the messaging button or the internet button (for accelerate/brake) The button does work, but you have to keep releasing and pressing, releasing and pressing, you cannot hold it down for any length of time. Is there a registry fix, or anything to allow you to use these buttons in this way. All the other buttons seems to work fine, and you can hold them down.

Can you remap power on/off button.

I own an O2 Mini & Eten M500.
Is there any possibility of remapping the power on/off button to another hardware key since my actual button is acting funny with me.(it works most of the time, but certain times even if I sit on it it wont power on the device. Power off is not a problem since I programmed it to sleep after xx secs.)
Any developer gurus out there who can develop a prog. for me
Thanks in advance for the help.
I dropped my HTC Hermes device and now the power button is stuck in.
Is there anyway to remap the power on/off function to another hardware button? Specifically the comms button.
well, i would like to delete my message, but dont know how?
i can edit it but i cant delete it, right?
You can use "AE Button Plus" to map all the other keys to other various functions, "power off the device" is among them...
you can even specify actions for single press, double press, triple press or long press for each button.. good luck
ae button or pqzII is okay

Thats quite strange and I've never heard that one before. I'm guessing there could be some oxidation on the contacts of the power button.
As a test to be 100% sure its the button which is the problem, have you tried calling the device to wake it up when the power button refuses to work? Reason being, is that I suspect its actually the device freezing and not waking up rather than just the power button malfunctioning. If the power button refuses to work and you can successfully wake up the device by other means (eg, a phone call) then you can explore other alternatives
how do i map leftsoftkey as the redkey(Red Phone Button) and the redkey as leftsoftkey?
current hardware keymap:
leftsoftkey controller rightsoftkey
greenkey controller redkey
what i want:
redkey controller rightsoftkey
greenkey controller leftsoftkey
reason for tiz is i cant seem to get morphgear to use the redkey or the greenkey even after mapping in the game. by mapping leftsoftkey to the redkey, i can then play the game with "A" "B" buttons using my right hand. so "A" will be mapped to rightsoftkey and "B" mapped to "leftsoftkey"(physically redkey).
i hv tried ae button plus.. tried unbinding redkey still no use. tried binding single press to virtual key too but to no avail.
It could help

This one is from the Hermes forum, at least gives you a couple of ideas on how to...
Cheers!
Rigging screen off (like PWMP)
I would like help on this too. Is there any way to rig the device so the power button only ever turns on/off the screen (like windows media player does) or at least is there a program or cab someone can design to do this????
Thanks in advance.
I've figured out how to do the above, if anyone wants to know pm me.

Won't let me change button assignments

Hey there,
I installed the Microsoft Voice Command and assigned it to the 'Recorder' button (next to the camera button) if I just press it once. Left it so that holding it records a note.
It all worked great, whenever I pressed the button, voice command would kick in etc etc. However, I soft-reset the Universal and now when I press the button, it just brings up the notes like it always used to.
I checked the button assignments and they're all still set to what I told them to be, however, the device still insists on doing what it originally did when each button is pressed. I've tried changing them and changing them back to what I want with no improvement, and I've also tried changing other buttons to perform other tasks but they still won't change.
Anyone have any ideas? Does my Exec have a mind of its own?! lol
Thanks!
Dave

Power Button broke; help needed

So, the power button on my 8525 popped off; while I can get at it with the stylus, that's a pain in the arse for normal operation.
Any way to map another button (such as, say, "PTT") to assume the functionality of the power button? Or any other similar work-arounds?

Alternate way to turn on your phone

Don't like your power button? Hold the volume up key and press the camera button all the way down. Also works vice versa - hold down camera button, push volume up. Random discovery.
Nice, but still takes "a lot of effort" )
That's a nice fail-safe in case the power button breaks.
this didnt work for me...
didnt work for me either
I hae noticed that some of these key combinations "stop working" after a reboot. For instance, I used to be able to wake the phone by double-clicking the "up" button. After a reboot, this went away. Now it somewhat works if I quadruple-click the vol. up button, but not conistently. If the Camera + up stops working after reboot, I'll post. I *do* have pattern lock enabled, not sure if that affects it.

Broken power button, reassigning to another button

I've got a XDA Mini S which I was given. It works fine, except the power button is faulty. I can press the soft reset button to switch it on, and any button unlocks the phone, but I have to just wait for the screen to time out when I'm done doing whatever I'm doing with it.
Is it possible to reassign the power button to another button, e.g. the voice recorder? I know it wont work to switch the phone on from powered down, but can I lock the phone with another button, maybe via an application or config tool?
