In car Charger for MDA compact

Hi All,
I have MDA compact unlocked. When I use a in car charger, it does not charge the phone when I plug the cable into the phone.
I have to do a soft reset with the USB cable attached and then the orange LED will come on. Now, I do not always want to do a soft reset everytime that I wanna charge my phone in the car. Hows anyone had this problem?
Thanks in advance.
im using an orange spv c500 car charger and mines working fine? what charger do you have? motorolla? spv? imate?
I brought one from ebay. so most likely to be a third party make.
How much is your charger?
I think you need the fifth pin connected to ground. This is what the original chargers do. You can either buy a special car cable for the SDA-Music or Magician, or cut the existing cable of your power supply and solder it correctly (Pin 5 to ground). What I did was to solder a 5V car adapter together with the cable of the Magician (Pin 5 to ground), the cable of my GPS mouse and of my BT Headset. You can do that too, provided that the car adapter delivers enough power (800 mA to 1 A) and all the devices you want to load are 5V ones.

Car Charger - Doesn't function as intended

Have 3 devices.... which when used with two different car charger cables and several vehicles give the following consistent results:-
1. O2 Atom - Doesn't recognise any external power
2. HP rw6828 - Recognises external power, shows battery charging but the battery discharges rapidly
3. Dopod 818 Pro - Recognises external power, shows battery charging and does charge
Any ideas would be appreciated as both O2 and HP seem unable to help.
did you try both:
1. adapter
2. USB charging?
Hi,
Same problem for me on atom. I think the atom is a power hungry device, you'll need much more power from the car charger. I bought an excellent item from boxwave, called versacharger pro. (http://www.boxwave.com/products/versachargerpro/index.htm)
With a simple usb cable, it charges in my car really fast, and works perfectly too as a wall charger. It isn't cheap, but worth the money.
Hope it helps!

Xperia Sdio / Obd Ii

Does anyone know if the X1 supports SDIO? I know the tiny slot is tucked under the battery cover, but SDIO would allow the device to be used with OBD II when desired (since USB host seems to be a no-goer).
Cheers

[Q] QUESTION about charging at car

Hi,
i'd like you to suggest a "good" car charger for my s200.
Otherwise is there any application that can manage usb functions??
(mean: Just to charge like plugging official ac-dc charger & not popping up the message for synchronizing or card reader mode)
*sorry for my eng
i bought the cheapest car charger in mediamarkt (15eur) and its working fine for s200.
it has miniusb and not microusb connector, watch for this!
There's even a cheaper USB charger (1,39 euro VAT included) at the Action store. They have stores in Holland, belgium and Germany. I used the cable from my external USB-card-reader (which also has a mini-usb port) to charge. In fact that usb-cable works perfectly (just as the mini-USB cable from my Nikon digicam). Oddly enough I also have another mini-usb cable (a transparent one instead o/t usual black) that doesn't work at all. But you could just use the included USB-cable anyway.
The charger from Action is rated 1000mA (max.). To compare my omnia i900 also comes with a car-charger rated 750mA.
Cheers
EPDM
