How to create shortcut to call log? - Windows Mobile Development and Hacking General

hv been searching for a way to access call history page through shortcut without going through phone menu first. Below is the info I found on the net
00#:MSClog?tapres.dll,-16322
But when I create the shortcut with the above parameter it doesn't work. It keep on giving me the error "The file':MSClog' cannot be opened. ...."
Any help would be appreciated.

:MSCLOG alias is not available
Hi,
AFAIK, MSCLOG alias is not available, only MSCPROG is there. If you are using wm5 then VJPhoneshortcuts is ur solution to link call history or speed dial easily.
For wm2003 no luck so far. The only option from what Ive read is create a script in mortscript to mimic the keypress to access call history or call filtering.Of course I would be extremely happy to be proven wrong as I am on the lookout for a solution for my Magician.

ViijayPhoneShortCuts from what I've found doesn't work on some phones in launching the call log.
My Palm Treo 700wx is a prime example.
If I install the HTC dialer app then it suddenly starts working, but that app interferes with the OEM dialer (Verizon in my case) which has ill effects on ringtones, mute and speakerphone functions.
I am trying to hack around this by using ViijayKeyPress, but I am not having luck so far chaining more than 1 command parameter.

Solved?
Think I solved my issue.
For some reason using VJPhoneShortcut and pointing to the speedialer.exe will launch my call log.
I don't know why that works. But so far it does, so I won't complain

Done through Mortscript
I wrote a simple script to mimic the screentaps to access the Call Log, Incoming Calls & Missed Calls. Not very elegant, but it works..So i you are not averse to using Mortscript, Let me know I will post the script here. But remember as the screens are different in many devices, some tweaking mite be required.

Try this.
CallHistory from ASUS P525 ROM.

Okay here's my challenge to you...
I came across this link over at XDA:
http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=391825.
So I did a little Google'n to see where this phone was available...and of course it's not available to us telecommunication-ally challenged US folks.
So here's the company that sells them; but of course they're in Dubai:
http://www.iteqonline.com/en_index.asp
After some more research I found the new updated ROM for this phone, and so I proceeded to unpack it so I could find the applications I wanted.
So--my challenge to you is who can provide for us the following applications from this ROM?
1. Answering Machine (Figure 7)
2. Background Effects (Figure 11)
3. Phone Recording (Figure 12) - granted I don't think this will work on the phone I want to try it on
4. Java Applet (Figure 27)
5. Voice Recorder (Figure 30)
6. Filter SIM and Send DTMF (Figure 20)
7. Magnifier (Figure 24 and 25)
All items should be in their own respective cab files for easy install for anyone who wishes to use it.
Thanks and Good Luck!
You can download the dumped rom from here
You'll need 7-Zip to unzip the archive. 7-Zip is available at http://www.7-zip.org/

On the Answering Machine....
First the Wizard has a hardware limitation that prevents call recording unless you are using speakerphone. I would assume this would eliminate the Answering Machine ability.
Second, my assumption would be that it would be in the PhoneDialer App. So you would need to install their Phone.dll and the control panel applet for the settings.
Third, a registry dump would be useful to see any hooks to the AnswerMachine.dll.

Any thoughts on where to get the registry dumps?
I'll do some more Google'n
I would love to see someone rip out the answering machine. I think a lot of people woudl find this very useful...
I just took the java app (exe) out of the dump and dropped it in my storage card on my mda. it seems to start up fine. i dont have any jar files handy to try out. It shows an option to install them from either the storage card or "my documents". Im no tech wiz but it seems like someone who knows what they are doing could get all of these features, or maybe some of them from this to work on a wizard.

Due to the hardware design of the Wizard, WM5 has no access to the incoming audio stream. bluetooth routing is also done independent of the OS as I understand it. There simply is no way to 1) send audio out to the GSM Phone conntection or 2) record to other person.
The idea of an answering machine on your Wizard is a pipedream.
Previous post deleted.
Nice challenge, I'm interested in the answering machine.
I would be interested in the Cyberon Voice Commander which appears to add a lot of features to the relatively inferior voice speed dial we have. Also the Easy-Touch Menu would be nice, it adds the option of phone profiles and a few other handy items on one menu. It looks like it's a non resident program also so it would be handy for our performance challenged phones.
I don't have any experience with ROMS, otherwise I would attempt this myself. Is this possible?

Wow I am glad I didn't know this when I downloaded and installed PMRecorder. Although the calls are quiet (unless using speakerphone) they can still be heard. But I assure you they work. If we could get the answering machine to turn on the speakerphone automatically, we could even screen calls!
Maybe the answering machine is a new upgrade to Voice commander!

Hide SIP using shortcut?

I've searched but I haven't found it yet.
What I want to do:
I would like to have a shortcut that can be assigned to a hardware button that hides the SIP on my device.
Reason:
I'm using the threaded SMS program of a famous manufacturer and it's really geat. The problem however is that when colsing the application the SIP doesn't disappear.
I took a look at MortScript but it doesn't seem to be able to do this.
Hope someone can help me out here
Years back, in fact the very first app I wrote, I wrote SipSwitch to let you change SIP, or hide the active SIP. I think since I wrote mine other better apps have been released, search for SIPSwitch to find them.
Here's a thread to my old one:

Works very well! Thank Vijay555!

Is there any software which can do this?

Basically I am looking for some software which, on receipt of an SMS will initiate an outbound call to a number in the contact list on the phone.
something along the lines of :-
SMS received from 1-555-5555 containing the word CALLBACK and a password.
Phone then dials 1-555-4444 or any specific contact as defined in its config
it doesn't have to use the contact list but must be triggerable remotely.
Target device is a HTC Hermes. and possibly a StarTrk
The program doesn't need to be stealthy, it's to initiate the call with full permission from the owner but without intervention.
Partly it's for my grandfather, if I give him a Startrk then I want to be able to activate a call remotely if I get notified that he has triggered his medicalert system, so I can try to see if he is ok without him having to answer a call.
I googled, and found nothing, I'm hoping someone here can either write an app that can do what I need, or suggest a product that will enable me to do this.
Auto answer is too generic, I want it to be just for myself and not all callers, and the password is because there may be times I just want to send a generic SMS
Sounds like you are talking about an SMS Callback trigger, though I have never heard of a mobile based one.
I always seem to want the impossible or the unwritten maybe it's time one was written?

just unwritten, it's not impossible
pretty easy actually
i'll try to throw some together this week if/when I have the time
try this
Just place it on the phone and edit the config.ini if needed default settings are:
trigger = CALLBACK
password = pass
I tested this on my TyTn2, and it seems to do what you wanted, the program will activate the speaker when calling (can be changed in the config.ini)
this way if your grandfather cannot reach the phone he still be able to talk..
But test it before use, I'm not sure how sensitive the mic of the phone is.
I do like the idea so I'll probably add some more functionality
- auto pickup on call from fixed number
- status
- call/sms log
Let me know what you think.
PS. this was created for a touch screen device not a smart phone...
also I can not be held responsible for damages, phone bills etc.
but that goes without saying ..right
-=edit=-
tested by sending an SMS to myself, the program then called my number, but when i tried with a friends phone it didn't work
let me know if it works for you (if you have 2 phones)
also make sure if the number you send it from is in your phonebook or not (could be the issue)
-=edit=-
that is the issue, working on it
Issue solved
now I need to figure out how to replace the attachment
I'll add it in a new post
I also believe SKSchema can do this in watch mode. Actually SKSchema can do lots of cool things in watch mode.
new version attached
-=edit=-
build a cab, also added apptodate support
is it just me or does it seem to autodial the number that sent the SMS?
one addition would be the facility to set the option that if number X sent the SMS then callback to number Y
example - if I am in the US I will have the number 1-555-1234 but my grandfather is in the UK - +44-555-5555
I run a voip line with a UK DID number such as +44-555-6666 so when the SMS is received from 1-555-1234 the return call goes to the +44-555-6666 instead of the US Cellphone (cost reasons lol, UK landline free, international call of any length = US national debt)
Here is a SMS Trigger I built, do not know if that satisfy you.
Check rk-SMSSwitch under my signature.

Sorry, i just noticed this reply
To be honest i wasn't planning on creating one, but i could give it a shot
the biggest problem is i don't have a Smartphone to test it on..
I'm sure you could probably find a few testers in the forums, there's quite a lot of people on here!
I'll obviously be willing to test anything you are able to come up with. I don't know where you are located mr gee but on ebay UK you can buy an old Orange spv c500 (HTC Typhoon)or c600 (HTC Tornado I think) really cheap now. There are also WM6 roms available for these devices on this site somewhere.

I tried it on my QTek 8500. The exe ran but all I got was a window with a blue background and the words "SMS2Call v. 0.03" in black.
No buttons to press or anything, had to use Task Manager to exit it. Which id did without complaint. Thanks for trying, some work may be needed I think

Could you try to edit the ini file?
in case you have 2 phones, add the number from the 2nd phone in the file
save and run the program
send an sms from the 2nd phone with the passcode mentioned in the ini file
your 1st phone should call this number after the SMS receipt
I know the program doesn't look like much but i might fix this in the future
when i do i'll also look at the exit button.
the reason i didn't was because the application was for an older person,
this person could be playing around with the phone accidentally closing the program ...
I looked in the .ini file and then tried sending a text to the phone containing the words CALLBACK PASS. I tried this with/without a space, up and lower case, with the program in the background or on screen but it didn't do anything. Do I have to put a shortcut in the Startup folder or something? Or am I not formatting the text message properly? The sending phone number is in the contacts list if that makes a difference.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Could you just not set his phone to auto answer ? - that way you can call him any time.

not really, assuming it works maybe it has to do with the formatting,
Callback should be in capitals and pass in lower letters.
when I tested this with my TYTN2 it worked the way it should.
also did you enter the default number ? e.g. the number that will be called?

[sarcasm]
Gee why didn't I think of that...
[/sarcasm]
Seriously have you read the thread?
the topic starter didn't want it this way for several reasons...
Default number and closed flip
I didn't enter a default number because I want it to respond to any number that sends the text. I deleted the DefaultNumber line from the config and it worked, to a point. The phone I'm running it on is a Qtek 8500/HTC StrTrk, which for those who don't know, is a flip phone. My problem is this, if the phone is closed when the text is received the call is made but cut off immediately because the phone is set to hang up calls on closing. Nowhere can I find a setting to stop this from happening, anybody have any ideas?

I have installed it and it works VERY well. I was really surprised that as soon as I installed the CAB file I was able to say "Play..." then any artist or album in my music library - right out of the box. Voice recognition was incredibly accurate with no setup required (I.E. "Play - A Tribe Called Quest" consistently no probs )
HOWEVER I have actually uninstalled it recently as I was watching the task manager and noticing that the 'VoiceCommand.exe' process was consistently jumping between 1% and 12% with no action from me whatsoever. This is not much and might be tolerable for some people but for me it is an added drag!
this program has some bugs

for sip issue u can check out the wikipedia here. if you are not an advance user defintely not risk to edit your registry
I tried it, but, maybe coincidence, maybe not, I found my battery ran down quite quickly. This happened over 3 days, so i uninstalled it, and it has gone back to normal battery time.
Maybe it is something to do with what SamasQ mentions above. Maybe its just my phone.
Did the incoming calls announcement work as well?
For me it was the only thing that didn't work.
Voice dial, running programs, play music, announcing new messages and calendar events - all worked. But incoming caller names did not.
On my old HTC TyTN II all of the above worked.
So I'm wondering, was it just me or don't the incoming caller announcement work on X1?
Draqula, same here, all worked but incoming call announcements.
try going to some website (win-mo experts or something and look for bengaliath, he did some extensive post on this program. I haven't had time to look yet, but its worth a shot.)
BTW, which ROM you using, (UK international?)

I read the bengalih guide. It was originally posted here at xda forums and helped me a lot when setting up VoiceCommand on the HTC TyTN II.
Now it's available here: http://www.winmo-experts.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=2&start=0&st=0&sk=t&sd=a
Unfortunately, there was no helpful info for me there.
I found and checked the following registry key...
Incoming Announcements are the function of the voicecmd.exe and the following registry key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Sounds\TTSAnnounce
"Script" = "as5p"
"Category" = "VoiceCommand1"
"Sound" = "Application Data\Volatile\TTSCallerID.wav"
... and found that on my X1 there was an extra slash in the location of the wav, but fixing it didn't help.
Let me know if you find any new info.
I have successfully ported quite a bit of drivers from x1 and blackstone to raphael.. please try the blackstone wavedev.dll (it must be cooked into rom) - on raphael this updated driver fixes voice command announce problem
Voice Command 1.6 also disconnects the bluetooth headset after you give a voice command. You have to re-establish the bluetooth connection again each time.
I've already removed the Voice Command because of this.
Other than this problem, it works very well in the X1.
The small print below the sales pitch for voice commander states "Incoming caller ID announcements will be spoken via the phone speaker on Sony Ericsson Xperia X1s with a Windows Mobile build prior to 15097.3.0.0. "

I have read all these posts and see that most poeple have a problem with the voice caller ID being read out....
I too installed (though a previous version) v1.5 and everything works fine except for caller ID voice read out...
Another thing i found is that it would read email subject headings from my 2nd email account but not from my first email account....might just be coincidence...
Bit concerned now that I read about the 1%-12% fluctuations when you arent even using it....hmmm
Same problem, no caller ID name readout
Same problem, the callerID is not read out.
What version are you guys running of MS Voice Command? There are multiple versions of 1.6.xxxxxx.
I am trying to use it with my BT headset. That is speaking the name into my bt headset after pressing the button on it. Does that work or do I always have to use my phone for speaking my commands?
EDIT: never mind. I got it to work. By restarting the phone (so typical of Windows)
When i installed Voice Command on my Xperia... it errored out at the end of installation, but completed regardless. It is working perfectly in every aspect except announcing incoming calls. It is great when it announces messaes and e-mails so that i know whats coming in and from who...
It did announce an incoming call once or twice... but out of the blue.

Interesting. For me too, that's the only problem. Incoming announcements.
Somebody mentioned it disconnects BT HF and you have to reconnect manually - not true for my Jabra BT8040, it stays connected or automatically reconnects, anyway it works.
Especially useful when driving and getting new messages and next appointments announced by BT HF.
just a question that links indirectly to this thread:
is there a way to remap the button for voice command? somehow I wanted to invoke the voice command app via the earphones' button SE X1 has. so I don't have to grab my phone inside its pouch and unlock it and press either the 2 buttons I mapped em with.

get authority over cprog.exe

ok i need some help getting authority over the Cprog.exe...
i have an app and i was wondering basically it looks at an inocming call..
basically "SystemState(SystemProperty.PhoneCallTalking)" it reads that and if it says yes it preforms commands. The commands are to pickup the handset etc... The problem i have is that cprog.exe kicks in and the phone rings, vibrates, and gives a popup of the incoming call when i jsut want the call to automatically be answered if its incoming state. So basically im looking for a reg edit so that when that state is satified it poitns to my app first before cprog.exe so that when people are running my app they dont have to hear a ringer or popup message, the active call gets directly answered?
i dont know how to program in TAPI, so is there a tapi code i can copy and paste maybe in my public partial class or public namespace a tapi code that wil satisify this. Basically allowing this program to be above cprog.exe. Or... ot have cprog.exe killed when my program is running..
Thanks!
anyway thanks!
is there a reg edit i can do on my install or something i can put in my code???
thanks!
bump? it up
If all you want is for the phone to be automatically answered, then it is actually a lot easier than you might think, even without a 3rd party application.
Just open the phone canvas, click the menu soft-key and click options. Move over to the "More" tab and just adjust the settings however you like.
If this does not satisfy what you were looking to do then I have no other suggestions.
In any case, good luck!!
lol... no no.. that is not what im talking about ...
i have a program i have created.. i want when its running that if an incoming call comes in for it to intercept that data (incoming call) before cprog.exe so that it will not ring or notifiy of the call and instead just auto answer it.. (When my program is running)
its a TAPI thing or reg edit.. im not sure>????
If you want your program to run instead of cprog, name your program's exe cprog.exe, make it into a cab and have the cab install it to the Windows directory.
You can see a demonstration with the cab I just made. It installs a text file renamed to cprog.exe that runs it instead of the real one. Install it, soft reset. Test it and then uninstall it and then all will be normal again.
The only problem with this method is that your app would be there in place of cprog all the time and so it would always run..
dwizzy130
hmm... that is interesting..
i wonder if there is a way to make cprog.exe a text file. So basically it will point to cprog.exe (the real one in some other directory) as normal, and then when my app is run, it poitns to mine..
so basically point to my app 1 (only if active)
and then point to cprog.exe if not?
is that possible?
thanks!
i tried to run your cab and it says i do not have the permissions?

I believe that actually might be possible (or something close) using Mortscript. Now I have no idea how to use mortscript but it's easy to learn and use. And it can do most anything you can think of.
About my cab, you may have to install SDKcerts first. What ROM are you running?

but beyond that just in general i want to implement this into my program.. so that it will install this cab with that file etc..... the question is how.. because i iwll be giving this cab and program to the forum as well as friends... aka it has to be workable and certified etc... easy to use basically.

If you send me your exe, I can see about signing it so it won't need anything else...

yea but the problem is... basically... i dont have a cab or instructions for that part yet. I hvae hte first part down.. What i now need is to basically use phone functions without cprog.exe...
(tapi)...
but here is the issue.... i dont know how to make a file so that in HKLM/System/State/Phone ActiveCallCount =1, so that it points to my program before cprog.exe (so that it does not ring etc...) how do i edit that ???? so that it points to my device before...?
I doubt it's so easy with a simple registry key so I guess you have to try and load a hooking DLL into the cprog.exe process (or probably hook into some DLL which is loaded by cprog.exe) and intercept the needed functions... This is tough ****. Happy hard reseting times!
