I have looked through the threads and never found the answers to these very simple questions. Only answer them if you have a UK Ameo please. I have seen people answer them, posted links to prove it only for the damn thing to be in German. So here we go:
1. Does the T-mobile UK only Ameo GPS work or is it disabled?
2. Will it fit into a standard size pair of trousers pocket.
If the answer to both of these is YES, I will order one now, otherwise it's the Glofish X800 for me.
Thanks
The answers to both of your questions is yes.

well, the first question is 100% yes.
but i am not sure about the second one, personally, i won't put it in my standard trousers, it's going to be very very uncomfortable.
BTW, if you actually did went through the thread, you should find the answer for first question already, 2 UK Ameo owner has already confirm the GPS work
I hereby confirm too that the GPS works... Why wouldnt it... duh!
Thanks guys, I really appreciate the responses. It's just that I DID see that UK said GPS was active but link to pictures showed a German Ameo LOL
I'll order the bad boy right now.
Thanks once again. Appreciate it.

upgrading
People don't really like to provide answers on this forum. It must be an european thing. I'm a new member and it took me days to find this link. You can go there and cook your own wm2003 rom. It can even be an exe file. The link is:
http://lumpistefan.dyndns.org/
Contact me if it doesn't work and I'll send you mine. It works great and it simply upgraded me to wm2003.

I think you must be referring to another forum, take a look at how many posts I have beside my name and look at others who also have many hundreds, this is the most helpful forum I have ever seen anywhere. Why it took you days to find the address to the rom kitchen is a reflection on your inability to search the forum rather than reluctance of others to reply.

Now I'm going to swith to a different rom because I'm using TomTom Navigator and the volume problem is very annoying with a GPS system!

i think that the more people hang out in the forum the more fustrated they get posting the same asnwer X times a day
at times people ask a question which is answered in the post right under their post
if search dont work for people who want
1. to get a kitchen url
2. a howto to flash the device using xdatools
then there is something wrong with search on other computers them mine
also many answers are given on the front page of this site
the fustration of being asked the same question over and over again
in the end make the users
1 ignor the question
2 respond rudely
3 stop reading the forum altogether
this is a thing i've notised in forums all over
so i would not asume it a european rudeness issue

What's wrong with providing a link to a good starting ground, as I have in my previous post? Is that not an 'answer' in your books? :?:
I came to this site to learn how to flash my XDA to WM2003.. I have less than 10 posts, yet none of them asked "how to flash?" I simply utilized the search feature and was able to find everything that I wanted to know, and more... much more...
No Offense
I apologize if I've offended anyone. It was simply out of frustration. I was tired of people reffering me to a search page that always returned about 150 posts. It is probably my lack of searching ability. I've used other forums and I know people get tired of answering the same questions. Links to the answers would suffice instead of referals to the search page. My apologies once again since my SX56 would be a paperweight if not for this forum. You guys are simply geniuses.

Re: upgrading
Regarding the recent update to WM2003.
Do you find that your XDA now turns itself to ON every now and then without any prompting? (This occurs when you go in and out of coverage areas.) I found this to happen with every version of WM2003 that I could put together and burn. I like to keep the screen and unit on for a while when I use it and don't have my power usage settings set conservatively. But when WM2003 is on it, it will eat up my battery super fast. I may be driving in my car and have it dash mounted (but without power assist) and watch it turn on every 3 to 4 minutes as I go along. This can also occur when just sitting in one spot if the coverage fluctuates too much the WM2003 turns itself ON without intervention.
Does anyone have a solution or fix for this? Is this happening to anyone else? WM2003  :? :x
It happens to me evrytime (twice a day) when I access metro.
This "feature" really sucks...
The worst thing is that I couldn't do anything with the registry entry like one discussed here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=9412 :?

None taken, at least not here All I'm saying is that the search feature works wonders... yes you may get 150 results, but take an extra 5, 10 mins to sift through them and you'll usually find what you're looking for. I usually focus on the posts with higher number of replies...

I know that you can get the HTC download original of the new WM6 for the Athena/Ameo/Advantage. I tried to but it keeps asking me for my IEMI number. I put it in and it saids go to your network provider!! The [email protected]@ts at T-Mobile are not going to do this upgrade as they feel the money provided would be for better use on new projects. I want to get the new version but not a made up one even though i have tried the ones on here and they work very well. But i would like a copy of the all singing all dancing version if someone has this???
Death to T-Mobile!!!!!!!!

Ooh err Missus!
The problem with search is that you have to be quite precise to get the results. I did actually use the search facility, but can you describe to me exactly what to search for in this case?
And what exactly do you mean when you say "All your questions are answered many times before?"
Seems to me like you should stay off help forums if you don't want to give help.

:s I had all the same questions, took some time to read and voila there were my answers... Lazy people like you clutter up forums like this so it's harder to find posts with "real" content...
And yes I want to give help to anyone but not if the answers are even mentioned in sticky posts..
Another thing, if you have problems to find answers to such simple questions why are you even going to flash your device?? What if it goes wrong?
(I don't want to bash you or anything like that, but in my opinion there are to many people posting questions without RTFF)
Probably stupid question but someone needs to ask it and I have only had my TyTN 1 for less than a month...

Yes, it is a stupid question.
Why do you buy a hermes when you know the kaiser is comming out..
and by the way..the software on the hermes isnt so different than on the kaiser, just the technical specs are better on the kaiser..
Whilst it would be silly to buy a Tytn1 over a Tytn2, if you are getting it as a contract upgrade handset then you may not have the option of a Tytn2, especially if you are an Orange customer...
Orange customer support still deny all knowledge of the Tytn2 saying there are no new SPV's on their internal systems.
Ok jackass... all I asked was IF it would work!!!
I can go out and buy the TyTN II as soon as it's available and have BOTH.... You need not be so damn stupid...
I posted a topic and then two people make a reply with NO information on the ONE question I asked.
You say "Yes, it is a stupid question.
Why do you buy a hermes when you know the kaiser is comming out.."
Which has NOTHING to do with anything. When it's available to my area then I will buy it IF I want it.
Neither one of you can read...
I hope there are some smart people left somewhere in the world...
Is this a clash of the Tytns?

As the saying goes, there are never stupid questions... only stupid answers..
Looks like you got loads here mate!.
There are some real good deals on the Tytn 1 at the moment so it is not such
a silly idea.
I am hunting the tytn II rom so will find out soon how well it works vs other roms at the moment.
Private message me if you still need an answer.
I thought it was "There's no such thing as stupid questions.... Just stupid people"
I can't imagine it'd work as they have different memory levels which'd surely cause issues? Unless of course someone is able to allocate a limit to which the rom can be written to etc.
This is actually a pretty ridiculous question, but it is one that I'm sure will be asked many more times in the coming months.
Imagine for a moment that you have a Dell laptop. HP comes out with a newer laptop that is much cooler. So you think, hm, can I flash the HP BIOS onto the Dell laptop and have an updated laptop?
The answer is of course no, that this is ridiculous and it would utterly destroy the Dell laptop, very likely forever.
This is basically what you are asking here. You are asking if you can flash the same BIOS on two pieces of hardware that are built on completely different designs.
But more to the point -- why would you even want to do this? Both can run the same software, so why would you want to flash the ROM anyway? If you see a software package on the Tilt that looks particularly snazzy, you can just install it on your 8525 should you so wish, for example.
It was just a question.... holy hell... I never said I was going to do it... I never said I wan't going to buy the TyTN 2...
I have a desk full of cell phones, most still very current phones. I have a very good job and if I want a $500 cell phone then I will buy it without breaking the bank.
Only a question that would have come up one way or another... I have learned that this board is full of people with the "I had it first opinion" and because they had this phone first that they are better and have the "right" to be an asshole.
No it wont work, due to the them both having different hardware and from what i understand of roms they can only be used on the Hardware they where designed for, you could try it if you wish how ever it would most likely brick your device
Bad attitudes...
I does seem that many on these forums glean some sort of sick satisfaction by being a-holes. They seem to think that everyone should know everything about a certain device without asking any questions. Sure the answer to your question may have been given else where on this forum, but not everyone has all the time that it takes to sift through the near boundless info available here. A simple non-rude answer would have been more to the point. Alas, I dream of an ideal world perhaps...
No one here was being particularly rude, and the answers that were given seemed to be pretty simple.
Would you prefer a timid "no" response or a resoundingly huge NO WAY response that ensures that no one here destroys their devices by trying to do something like this?
I hate you, esmith.
Everyone simply answered a question with what they expected and you answered like a 13 years-old nintendo fanboy.
Seriously dude, calm down! I didn't see any rude answers here, sheesh.
I asked if it would work... so... the CORRECT answer would be "YES" or "NO".
Schooling can only teach you guys so much... If you don't see any rude answers here then look at the very FIRST reply to my message with told me my question was stupid and that I was also stupid for buying a TyTN with the TyTN 2 coming out.
The next reply had NOTHING to do with anything I asked...
Reply #9 shows me "This is actually a pretty ridiculous question"
Post #11 ACTUALLY answered the question
So please person who "hates" me from "knowing me online" like you probably know your girlfriend please re-read the posts and let me know...
THANK YOU to the people who can READ and answered my question WHICH would have been and will be asked MANY times to come on this board.
I will leave it at that so I can get back to level 7 in Super Mario Brothers...
Actually, the correct answer would not be "yes" or "no" as you say. The correct answer is "no" only.
Another correct answer would be "This is a ridiculous question." It's certainly more correct than "yes."
Again, no one has been rude to you here. Consider your question answered.
advice:
it happned to me befor.
dont ask dom question if you think the info is around here.
very simple.look, read and then ask (sucks if you ask me).
enjoy.
Pretty sure my question was never asked here.
And if you think a correct answer was "This is a ridiculous question." then that is sad.... because you have no morals what so ever.
Anyways I'm trying to finish up with this topic... kind of stupid for the same idiots to keep bringing it back with stuff that just adds to my case.
It´s a pretty normal question, many young people here I see...
It was (well) answered before: different hardware so, directly, it won´t work. Perhaps some drivers are compatible and newer and can be used on Hermes but I see little use on TyTn II software as, since everything is working fine, the rest is add-in software you can find everywhere.
Hi everyone, this is my first post here. I hope you can answer a few questions for me. I've been looking at all the posts here, so several questions have been answered already. I'm on Verizon, and it looks like most of the issues have been resolved. I work outside in the weather, so I'm looking for a good rugged case. I'm not concerned with bulkiness, just survivability. Also I'm in a truck most of the day, how are the car chargers. And if you use the GPS function, how do you like it. That's all for now. Thanks.

I may be wrong here but I've read that for Verizon you only get the 4gLTE so if you're somewhere where there is not 4G you won't get any service.
