02 Battery Monitor

Hi All,
Since upgrading my XDA Exec to the latest ROM I now don't have the nice little today plugin for the battery montoring. I liked the old one as the new one on the top bar does not show enough info and having to click on it to see what percentage is left is a pain!!
So I dug out the old O2 UI CAB and removed all the stuff except the battery monitor from the CAB file and I have attached it here for anyone else who wants it. I think this should work on other ROMs as I can't see anything specific to O2 in here. Would love to hear from anyone who can run it on Qtek, Imate, Dopod etc?

Ah, hadn't searched the forum.. Oops. Nice work you have done on it though.
I had the same problem with the missing icon and the little dots. This is due to the fact the code itself is trying to put something there so to remove it is not so easy unless you had the source.
Maybe one day I will get around to writing my own based on the look of this one. Just not enough hours in the day right now!!

Out of interest, I noticed your file is over 200K. Did you keep the original SETUP.DLL file from the original O2 CAB?
I junked this because it kept coming up with the options screen and I had to choose Corporate to bypass this. I used a SETUP.DLL file from another CAB which is much smaller.

I am working on that. I hate it and would like to clear it from the top bar!!

The same way you install any cab.
Copy it onto your device, browse to it with File Explorer and tap it. Accept the security warning and choose where you want it installed to.

is there a patch for the cingular 8525 to make it look like vista? i've seen the skinning stuff, looks to involved ( to many programs ). thanks LuXx

I am running wisbar advanced, and I have a great vista theme that I would be happy to upload, or I can try and find where I originally found it. doesn't take up too many resources, and it has a _ton_ of customization

I have one that I'm using that doesn't require installing another app that hogs up memory. This is a simple Vista "aero" type theme and a nice dialer to match. I'm using them now and I like 'em. I think I might have even gotten them from the forum, or maybe not. Anyhow, enjoy!

do you have screen shots? What is the tsk file and how do we use it?

Sorry, no screen shots handy right now, but all you have to do with the .tsk file is copy it to your \Windows directory. Then, go ahead and change your theme like you normally would. (Start --> Settings --> Today)

I see from your Avatar that your sporting the new Hermes headset. It's nice 'cos it doesn't require the Bluetooth connection - you just tuck the Hermes inside next to your ear and away you go; and with Wifi on it keeps your ear warm as well. I've heard a rumour that there's a dual core Hermes with twin hand-sets that keeps both ears warm. Bit itchy though??

Oh yes. You hit the nail on the head there. It's almost a full body headset, as you can see. Quite cozy in the winter... and very stylish to boot.

am i the only one who cant get the cab out if the zip file? the tsk is ok, but i get an error trying to extract the cab...

Not sure what the problem is, Zgembo was able to get it extracted and working. Are you just extracting the whole folder onto your desktop (or somewhere) and then moving it over to the phone?

Exactly, simple as cake... Just copy two file to any folder of your phone, and run it... Dialer (bigger .cab file) is just an option, instals as standard application... Skin (.tsk file) is very compact, and just double click it to add it to phone's themes... You can delete these files after installation...

does anyone know any drawback to the ETEN dialer besides losing video call as an option?

on this one you also loose smart dial... but its a kick a$$ looking dialer skin

Maybe someone with some skills (definitely not me) can put the smart dial and video option into this dialer skin. I think this was originally created for the 8125. Shogunmark... I know you're a pro. Whatcha think?

i can build wizard roms and cabs, etc.. but when it comes to *.tsk and dialer skins, i will admit defeat.. i have tried at those and failed so many times.. its not that i couldnt create them, its that they looked horrible.. i am seriously lacking in artistic skills.. i might look into anyway since i am dying to start cooking roms but the bootloaders on these phones right now is a major roadblock.. we will see what time has in store for me

he appears to have E-TEN dialers with Smartdial (scroll down to the bottom round classic) It states the "Blackglass" has smartdial. Anyone try that out on a TyTN?

Anyone know how to fix the AeroMobile.tsk theme to support the Portrait mode? When I slide out my keyboard, the skin should strech but doesn't. I tried to fix it with MS Theme Generator, but no luck... Any suggestions? I'm using Pocket PC 2002 Theme Generator V2, as that seems to be the last release from MS.

HTC home screen for WM 5

I keep seeing the fancy looking home screen plug in for WM 6. Is there a similar home screen plug in from HTC for WM 5 that I can use with my 8525? If so how can I get it? Is it free? How do I install it? And I do not know how to do what you guys refer to as reg hacks - so should I just stay away from the topic? I did do some searching and everything comes up under WM 6, or it is not clear if it is WM 5 or 6. Also, I do not want to do anything that will void my warranty - will it? I appreciate any responses. Sorry for being the worlds biggest newbie.

I can't tell you too much about the HTC Home Screen because of I am not using it!
However, 'hacking' the registry will not avoid your warranty! In case you do something wrong: simply hard reset your device and everything should be back to normal and factory default!
If you want to be able to access your PDA's registry you will need a REGISTRY EDITOR installed on your PDA. There are plenty good ones out there! I personally use RESCO EXPLORER 2007 + REGISTRY ADD-IN. You can find a trial version here: http://www.resco.net/pocketpc/explorer/default.asp
To get your HOME SCREEN fancy looking: even here you can find lots of stuff without having to hack anything! One really good application which changes not only your TODAY SCREEN is SPB MOBILE SHELL - more info here: http://spbsoftwarehouse.com/products/mobileshell/?en
Both application I mentioned above are commercial products but trial versions are available as free download! There are hundreds of free application all over the web which will help you to personalize your PDA - just search Google and see what it comes up with!

Its free, dont know if it will work on wm5 havent seen a version working yet on wm5. I suggest just reading the forum for the next two weeks or so. After about a good 20 you will nolonger be a noob. At that time I would suggest upgrading to wm6 and you will have no issues getting this on your phone.

You can do the cab or the exe - what ever you prefer!
The cab file needs to be copied to the PPC, the setup you run directly on your desktop while your PPC is connected via ActiveSync or MDC.
Both programs I mentioned are running fine under Windows Mobile 5. I used them for more than a year on my T-Mobile MDA WM5 and later on my Hermes.

Audio recognition 100% WORKING NOW WITH TOUCH SCREEN ENABLED

Hi guys i know that iphone has a application on their phone called Audio recognition.
The way this works is that if you hear a song you like, you select a particular software in the iphone and what it does is that it records the first 5 seconds of the song and it sends that sample to some database and then reports back to you with the name of the song and who sings it, now i know i have been in a situation where i have heard a song and liked it but cant remember or know the name of it.
Is their away to implement this into a HTC diamond, like has someone tried making this happen?

Also using MusicID, and when I demoed it a year ago to my friends they were astonished. I also find it better than iPhone app. MusicID needs VGA support, which it lacks as of now, so it fits better our Diamond phones.

surely it cant be that hard to create, like if people on here can create custom ROM's then surely someone can have a crack at this? we got any takers?

You won't be seeing it in the program list. You have to start it using Explorer.

this is awsome, works like a charm, thanks for that, but i have another idea if anyone can make it possible i would like to have another feature in this application. it would be great if the app can make a tag from the radio and record a sample without checking the ID, later time you can check ID when you are conected to wifi or activesync, this could save some money on data connection. but it is only my sugestion, thanks anyway.

or you can just use total commander and make a shortcut to it in ur programs list

I've got an icon right at the top of my list. It installed and placed it in the usual Programs menu and TF. Shouldn't be any need to make a shortcut?

hey guys im still kind of new to this stuff. but right now i have windows 6.1 on my wing and its nice. but i seen a video on youtube with a wing that had 6.1 pro and it was AWESOME so i would like to know is there anywhere i can go and get that? oh yea and by chance can i ever downgrade back to the reg windows that came with the phone? and if i can do i just go to tmobile.com/wmupgrade ans starr from there?

What you have is already a PRO version as it is meant for all touch screen pocket pc device. Maybe you saw a different GUI effects which may be like TouchFLO 2D or so. If you can give a link to the YouTube video, we shall give you the suggestions.

That is not a "version" of or an iphone theme. It's just a ROM that has a lot of things put together to look like that. Looks like they have the old HTCHome with a skin on it, a Windows Mobile skin and S2U2 with a skin. It looks like an older ROM, actually, but I like the red theming. I don't know what ROM it is exactly, though. Oh, and that menu system is a somewhat buggy software... I forgot what it's called. It's hacked from an italian phone, I believe...

I do also Ivan ,thanks for that non useful paragraph. but can ANYBODY ELSE HELP ME????? im trying to see if i can get wm 6.1 pro or is that not released or something? as far for the themes when i download then and save them they never show up under my themes. could it be that im doing it wrong? i have aserg 6.1? do this ROM not let me use other themes?

1. You're rude.
2. It is not WM6.1Pro. Did you at all read what I wrote? 6.1 was never officially released for this phone, we (yes, I and others) ported it to this phone.
3. If you're not seeing them, you ARE doing it wrong.
Seriously, dude. I take my time to try to help some and you try to bite at the hand that feeds you. I could have done what everyone else does and said, " Search, noob!" Because truthfully, the answers ARE there if you bothered searching for the right things.
I even TOLD you what programs are being used, btw. That's about as much help as you could ask for.
It's not a THEME only, it's a SERIES of program. Let's quote me:

Now, if you searched for HTCHome you'd get the program called: HTCHome. If you searched S2U2, you'd get the program called: S2U2.
