I just replaced the display on my cingular 8525 and now when I boot I get a white screen. The blue light flashes like it has signal, but no display except for a white screen. If anyone could tell me how to fix it, I would sure appreciate it. Sorry for being off subject, but I didn't know where else to go. I figured that you all have been in and out on these phones and might know something about the electronics in them to. Thanks

I recently bought a cingular 8525 on ebay. The seller said it was stuck on a 3 color screen, blah blah. I knew I can fix it if it was stuck on the 3 color screen, but I turn the phone on and the screen is just white. I was wondering if this means the device is bricked, and if there is any way I can fix this. I've tried a hard reset.
It's called the "White Screen of Death." You can read more about it in the wiki or here.
I'm not positive if it's that or not. I don't see a complete white screen, I see streaks of gray on the left side of my phone. I have a picture, hope this helps. Is this the white screen of death, or do I just have to replace the lcd screen?
If you see the booloader screen at times, then the lcd should be fine. If not, then it is in fact the WSOD.
Nope, I don't see the bootloader screen at all. I just received the package today, put in the battery, turned on the phone, and just a white screen. Nothing else. Doesn't do anything but sit in a white screen with some gray streaks.
I fixed up one White Screen yesterday , that is , white screen before, and display normally after.
I just flash the phone with the origional rom, and after a bootloader reset( OK+power+reset), the white screen magicly start to display stuff!
So give it a try!
^^ Thanks for the help, but I already tried updating it to the official WM6 rom and it failed.
Ther are about 1001 things that can cause the WSOD - somtimes software, sometimes hardware and sometimes multiple things. To track down the cause can be a major headache and even if you do fix one thing you may have something else causing another problem resulting in WSOD... Most people advise NOT to buy a 2nd hand hermes with this as it is too much of a pain to fix. If you want to try however, you can purchase new LCD's off ebay for about $100AUD and you'll need the HTC service manual to take it apart.. Make sure you have a number 6 torque key, a small flat blade and phillips head screwdriver.
All the best...

I suppose this is lcd or digitizer but I not sure and don't want lost money. Artemis unmoved can stand all day, sometimes can't power on can't charging. Any ideas welcomed.
Looks like a guarantee case to me... if you're lucky
same problem here... i have it after the rom update BLACK & BLUE v5.0....
same here, i don't know what to do anymore!
sombody know what this is? sometimes it works and sometimes not?
Hi guys,
this morning turing up my leo, when the white bootsplash image came out, I noticed that there was a dark blur on the top right on the screen...
And it seems not related to dust or some fingerprints, because I tried to clean it out several times; my fear is that it comes from the lcd matrix or something like that...
Anyone knows what it could be?

I had the same problem, got it changed from the seller.
Did you return it to htc?
I bought it on ebay from an uk private seller, and it was locked to T mobile.
I don't know what to do...
I am very surprised... but I noticed that hour by hour that blur was becoming more clear, after a morning it is completely gone...
I don't know how, but I wanted to share if someone has same problem, maybe he has only to wait a little bit...
I have been searching the forums and have not found anything with this particular problem. After replacing the screen, everything works as far as function but the screen has no darkness to it, everything is really really white. Can still see some things but overall this isn't right. Anyone has some tips or advise let me know! Thanks in advance!
Update: Took new screen out and put old cracked screen back, everything back to normal. Maybe different types of screen or versions or whatever. Website where ordered said for AT&T Tilt. We'll see how returning goes.
Hi all,
I dropped my phone yesterday, oops! Its all working fine apart from the screen. There is a problem with the blue colour.
I'm using Android from the SD card, and from using any program where you can change the colour of an item, I can tell the blue colour is screwed up. There are 3 sliders, RGB to change the colour. With R and G at 0, sliding the blue scale should go from black to full bright blue. It kind of does this but its appears near full bright blue half way, then drops back to black just after half way and goes back up to bright blue at full scale again. Very weird.
Anyone heard of this before? Any suggestions to fix? Its all working absolutely fine apart from this blue colour wierdness.
Thanks for any help.
thats no problem it aint serious actualy its no problem at all...ur hd2 is fine
Err...nope there is definately a problem, its not fine. All the colours are wrong due to the blue component in them being incorrect I think. I have quite a few blue wallpapers, and basically wherever there is supposed to be light blue, its completely wrong. It looks awful, not just those wallpapers but everything is slightly the wrong colour.

Sounds like your HD2 is having a hardware iue due to what is called mechanical shock (being dropped). You should send it in for warranty repair or replacement if it is still under warranty.
What could actually be wrong with the phone, that I could replace to fix it, any idea?
Anyone know how long the warrranty is for O2 uk? I bought the phone Dec 09 I think when they first came out.

You might want to let someone else post to make sure. But I have read several times here I the HD2 forums that O2 gives you a two year warranty were as my provider T-Mobile only gives us a one year warranty.
