Help - My Tmobile Data 3g has stopped working!

Ive had issues over the past week or so - but now my 3g has just stopped working just ends up sticking in locating or connecting or opening but never finds the page!! I then get the error message telling me that!
I recently had dns servers set and then removed to allow the connection to automatically select!
Ive then put them back in 4.2.2.1 and 4.2.2.2 (these were recommended as speeding up the internet connection). Ive also tried open dns settings of 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220 However still no luck!
The amazing thing is gprs works just fine!!!
I have been using Bandswitch to preserve battery life - ive had that on for a fair while - 3g data worked just fine with it before!
Also phone calls on 3g and gsm are fine it is just the 3g Data connection! Active synch doesnt work with my 3g and exchange server!!!!

Data Connection Problems?

Has anyone else had the problem that you go online and surf the web then maybe a couple of hours later you launch Opera again to go online and it just hangs (the data connection not opera)?
The only way to make it connect is to turn off the data connection then it will log back on...

yeh iv been getting that problem for sometime now, its frustrating, sometimes i even have to soft reset to get the data connection working. It shows that the data connection is fine and everything seems connected, but then when you try and update weather or browse the web (anything that uses data) you end up getting an error,
its very similar to the problem you get on your home broadband, your router shows its connected and your dsl and everything is active yet you get a white page on your browser and then you have to reset your router, very very frustrating, so i understand your problem exactly.

I'm wondering if this is anything to do with changing cells on your network?
When you travel to a different cell location although the network says you are still connected (and you can still send/receive calls) the data network has actually dropped and needs refreshing?
I suppose what we are after is a program that can refresh the data network every few mins - don't know if this is possible though?

Here in Germany o2 has a problem with the Qualcomm Chipset. I also have hanging connections. A workaround is to disable HSDPA. Maybe you have the same problem?

same problem here (also o2 Germany)
the 3G icon is there and the bubble says there is a connection for x minutes but opera or google maps mobile report a missing connection after a short time of usage. i have to kill the connection manually and after the connection is reestablished it works again for few minutes...... this is so frustrating...

GPRS
Same problem in Czech republic with O2 provider.
At this moment I found as a fastest way to switch off and on the radio.
I'm using most of the time GPRS connection and this problem is about two times per day so reconnection every day two times is really annoying.
Hopefully somebody will find solution soon...

My problem is slightly different. Sometimes (after using Opera or not) I try to refresh weather and it says "refreshing" but the data connection won't connect (it shows antenna, no arrows with H or 3G). I must then soft reset the PDA to make it work. Any solutions or similar experiences?

Blackstone data connection problems
I have been getting the same problem for sometime now, it is very frustrating, I always have to soft reset to get the data connection working. I am also wondering if this problem is limited to Blackstone (HTC Touch HD) or extends to HD2 also?

Kam2kam, question, What rom are you using, and are you using activesync? If so, have you downloaded any email attachments? I was having the same problem where a couple of times a day I would have to soft reset. The connection would look fine, but if you tried to update anything or browse the net you were met with an error. It was frustrating. I finally narrowed the issue down to activesync and the new manila documents tab. My theory was that when I downloaded an attachment to view in the documents tab activesync would continue to sync the attachment each time it polled for new mail. Since activesync is often slow to sync attachments, my connection to the VPN would timeout before it could finish syncing causing the dreaded "waiting for network". My thought was my VPN connection would freeze thereby preventing my carrier internet from being able to connect; since, at least for me, you cannot have two different data session running simultaneously, i.e. VPN connection and the carrier's connection. The only cure was to soft reset. Ultimately what I did was hunt down any and all email attachments that I had dowloaded, and deleted them all. Since then my data connection went from freezing up twice a day to zero times a day and it's now been over two weeks.
You may not have the same set up as I do, but perhaps there may be something similar going on.

No Internet connection or wireless devices are working

Hi there,
Had this problem with a past G1 but it got sent back because I cancelled the contract (wanted to upgrade my contract).
Anyway the problem seems to be happening with my new, 2 - 3 week old G1.
Internet is not working. Not on G2 network or through Wifi. This means the G1 will not sync, I can't use the browser, the Market gives a error, Gmail brings up a "No Connection" error with a retry button.
I also can't start the bluetooth. "Unable to connect to bluetooth" is the error I get as soon as I press the checkbox.
Driving me mad. Anyone got any ideas? Running Modified TC5-RC8. I should point out the last time I had this problem I was running stock RC8. So pretty sure it's not a custom firmware issue.
EDIT: Seems the net is working on G2. Other problems still persist.

What plan do you have? Who is your provider?

Flext 30 with T Mobile UK.
Did some more troubleshooting. A wireless hotspot in Town worked fine. However I don't see why the 2 wireless routers in my house have suddenly stopped working with my G1. I haven't changed any settings.
One is a BT Home Hub and the other is a Netgear.
and still the bluetooth will not enable.
EDIT: Seems an upgrade to v1.3 sorted it :s
I will put it down to a bug I guess?

GPRS Connection dead after ROM update

Hi guys.
I just tried flashing Duttys Leo Multi-Lang V1.1 ROM.
Actually I decided to sync my contacts before flashing but the GPRS connection wouldn't work then. I didn't think too much into it since I had just used it a couple of hours before without problem, and though it was some soft reset issue or something.
However, I tried flashing to the rom and the procedure went without any trouble. But I can't get my GPRS connection to work anymore. I tried flashing back to stock 1.48 which didn't work either, and after that I flashed back to the original stock 1.43 roms.
No matter what I do I can't get internet and my GPRS to work anymore.
I tried putting my simcard in my old SE P1i and I could connect to the GPRS and surf the net without any issues.
This leaves me to think no other than that something has happened to my beloved HD2.
I now have 1.43 ROM and I uninstalled the HSPL, so I don't think there should be any issues sending it in for repair, but I wanted to check with you guys before. I rather not send it in
Any ideas?

I've had exactly the same problem and just reported it to HTC. My battery almost ran flat yesterday but I didn't pay attention and just assumed that I'd left something running. I soft reset the phone and put it back on the charger for a few hours, took it off and then left it overnight. When I went to use the phone again today the battery was completely dead. I charged it up again and then left it to see how quickly the battery was discharging. I noticed that the phone thought I was in the Punjab but didn't realise that I didn't have an internet connection because the taskbar said I was connected via HSDPA. I ended up doing a hard reset as I assumed the battery problem must be software related.
After the hard reset I noticed that I didn't have an internet connection but assumed that it was an aberration and connected via WiFi to set the phone up again. To cut a long story short, I eventually realised that I could only connect to the internet via WiFi despite the fact that the taskbar still said I had an HSDPA connection. I tried a couple of hard resets and even reflashed the ROM to 1.48 but whatever I do I can't connect to the internet through my phone provider. I can make calls and I can connect via Wifi but I can't connect via HSDPA.

I don't know why this happened really, but after trying this and that it worked out for me.
What I did was, I turned off the 3G and tried to surf through G only.
That worked, then I tried to turn on 3G and surf and it also worked again.
I then tried to do a soft reset and tried to surf and again, it didn't work.
So I turned of 3G and tried to surf on G which worked, and when turning back to 3G I could again surf.
Ofc it would be lame to be forced to turn off 3G and surf 1 time before one can surf on the 3G every time one does a soft reset, but for some wierd reason it works now without the need of turning 3G off.
I hope this can help you a bit and hope you get ur mobile working well soon again!

Thanks umiss. Out of interest, how do you force the phone to only connect via GPRS?
My problem is getting weirder and weirder. It turns out that I can connect to the internet via HSDPA when I'm at work but not when I'm at home or around my home. This is despite the fact that my phone still says that I have a strong HSDPA connection at home.
I also tried popping my SIM card into my old N95 and I have no problems connecting to the internet with that The only thing that's giving me a bit of hope is that my partner's SIM card (she's on the same network as me) struggled to connect to the internet in my phone too so I'm hoping that it's related to a network problem in my area.

I only have G/3G connection so GPRS is the only choice for me to connect to the internet. (Or maybe I mixed 3G and GPRS being the same?)
Anyhow, I connect through my 3G connection.
It's weird why this problem happened, and how it by itself solved (maybe me switching to G instead of 3G helped but I don't really know).
However, regarding your problem.
You say that you don't have any problem connecting to internet (through HSDPA I presume) with your N95? But if you connect with your HD2 it doesn't work.
Furthermore, with your friends SIM it also doesn't work with your HD2.
This obviously sounds like theres an error with the phone rather than the network?
Specially since it worked with your N95. Could you maybe try your friends sim in your N95 to see if it works?
But then again, how weird isn't it that your phone works well at work :S
Did you try forcing your phone to go into GSM to check if internet works?
Please try this and keep me updated, I would really like to know if this somehow helps solving this "problem" :S

[Q] gms connection

Hi, about 20 days ago my Touch HD stopped connecting to my GSM network, it has worked fine until then. I can get a Data connection but i cant call anyone or send/recive SMS.Ive tryed hard reset and replacing different roms several times and still nothing...
