I have had installed in my car a rather nice tbh bury car kit , nice in that you can swap cradles for different phones thus the kit never becomes obselete.
i got a cradle for my hermes but it does not route anything through the kits external speaker making it an expensive charging cradle , i noticed that other htc handsets have software patches to make them work with these cradles but thus far thb have offere no answer to my problem , anyone else have this or a similar kit and found an issue?
Hi,
I found this on another forum
http://www.expansys.co.nz/ft.aspx?i=117490&thread=34
the guy had the same problem, no sound from the hands free kit, turned out to be a faulty cradle

look in their support site, there's a wave.dll or something similar to resolve this issue. It's specific for the tytn:
MDA III - Important information:
If you wish to hear audio response over car speakers, you have to replace file "Wavedev.dll" on your MDA III. Please reset system after replacing. Manual D
check here http://www.bury.com/technologies/GB/hands-free/47/UNI_Take&Talk/HTC/

did you ever resolve this problem? I use thb kit and eventually got mine working.

The THB Bury is a great car kit, especially with the built in GPS facility, however, the more the radio is turned up (it's fitted through the car speakers via the radio so it mutes etc). it becomes almost impossible to have a conversation due to an echo (which is heard from both ends !!!
I am reliably advised that it's a 'bugette' between the 2 technologies and that O2 are supposed to be 'fixing' the probelm, I've also been told that the UK importers (Chameleon) are also supposed to be producing a 'fix'.
I'm also advised that it works fine with the XDAIIi in Germany where the Bury is made and where German mobile providers have obviously collaberated.
Anyone experiencing this? Anyone know of any cures out there??
we have the same problem, however we think it's related to how far away the XDA is from the speaker, but have not been able to test it yet.
I was told by the official UK Distrbutor of the cradles that these cradles are only suitable for the XDA 2 (not 2i), they are unable to supply them for the 2i as they are having many problems with the sound/radio. Although the devices are the same, if you mention that it's for a 2i, they advise against buying the cradle.

who's the official UK distributer?
Company called codewing

Hi all, just a quick question does the Xda exec have a cradle for it or is it USB cable connection for active sync only :?:
tia
No cradle yet from O2, although there's one on the Expansys website that'll be available in November: http://www.expansys.com/product.asp?code=126238&asource=127219
It's the car kit I'm waiting for. Now that I have a PDA that sits happily on the desk like an open laptop, a USB lead is fine for me I think.
See docking station here: http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/product/7862.htm
hope the keep that price range ....

otherwise accessories would drain my pockets easily )))
Pretty reasonable price for the cradle though, normally they start off at £30+

well, www.arkon.com do some Universal mounts (nb. Universal as in one-size-fits-all). I'm using the CM520 (I think - I'll check tonight) which I bought for my old ipaq 4150. It has 2 USB power connections on the bottom and a 3.5" speaker jack, with a speaker in the back. I have a usb to 4150 cable for it but I've just swapped with the usual USB cable that the XDA Exec comes with and it holds it pretty well. I'm a little tempted to add some velcro or something since the XDA Exec is quite porky, but I'll see how it goes for now. I don't know about handsfree though as it's not designed for it. I currently use a Jabra headset for the phone, Tomtom and a bluetooth gps for the satnav - this keeps everything charged and happy. I might get a bluetooth car stereo for the handsfree instead of the Jabra as it does chafe a bit during long journeys...
Does anyone know of any decent cases for the HTC Universal? I've seen a few at PDAir and Proporta, but I'm not 100% happy with them as I'd have to take the phone out of the case before putting it on the cradle.

This is more FYI others.... when I started looking at new phones some times ago to intergrate in to my car system getting one that was able to do BT headset and com port at the same time was important - and in fact to my knowllage the IJam was the first.
Any way as it seems no ones broached the subject and at the time I would have killed for this info I'm please to say I have tried both my BT carkit and GPS with Tomtom at the same time and it works... I'm currious if I can get 3 concurent connections now
Any way - probably no biggy for most here - its just my was of helping any newbie that comes along searching for this info... like I did once.

Hi Terran,
Out of interest, which BT car kit have you got? I've got to replace two Nokia kits now we've got the 9100's. I've looked at the parrot kits, but am using voice commander and would like a kit that works as well as my Scala bt headset.

The Parrot CK3000 - Had it since it came out and never looked back. Used to cost me ( cos no company even my current one which expects me to travel has ever give me a car kit ) a fortune before BT having to upgrade to specific kits... and they where a pain to install.
Parrot - Can't fault em - but my only tip is buy the upgrade cables... I've upgraded mine several times and it has helped depending on the issue.... for example..
I've not upgraded it this time how ever the other half found the quality of sound from me ( ie in the car ) better than with my T610...
Hope that helps - PS if you want GPS some of the higer models have it built in.
Terran
PPS Any one with a basic under standing of plug socket a in to socket b can do the install in about 10 mins or so.... the worst part is getting the radio out.
Thanks for the reply Terran.
My only concern (aside from the Parrot compatibility, which you've cleared) is that with two 6310i's, if my personal phone rang, I could ping the work one out of the kit and plug in my own within a couple of seconds. I can't find a way to disconnect the 9100 from my BT headset (which operated in hands-free mode too).I asked here, and after 70 views, there have been no replies... I don't know if there's a quick way on the Parrot kit, and if so, how fast I could "connect" the other handset, or, if I'd have to have two kits, one for each phone...

Never tried but my Parrots update is supposed to support up to 3 handsets... you can set which one gets priority...
I think they have a forum so may be its worth having a chat with em.

If you have a CK3000 then this thred ( especially post #20 ) is worth noting...

Dear Sir,
Thanks for visiting our forum.
Concerning your request, with the K750and W800 it's not possble to use the phone's voice recognition system
with the CK3000. This issue to the phone software and unfortunately only Sony Ericssson can make some improvments
on it.
However with the CK3000 evolution, you have the possibility to send contacts from the mobile phone to the car kit.
Thanks to this function, you can use the car kit voice recognition system and no more the phone voice recognition system : we are no more depend on the mobile phone. The knob of the evolution's remote control allows you to select this function by spoken menus. It's the same way like for the CK3100 however instead of a graphic indications you have voice prompts. This function was not possible with with the CK3000.
To change your CK3000 into a CK3000 evolution. You just need to change the car kit software and to change the buttons.
However the software update have to be done using a Parrot Serial cable or by Bluetooth using a Parrot Flash Kit.
That's why we ask to send us the unit.
If you have the buttons and a way to make the update , the transformation into a CK3000 evolution is possible.
However for technical reasons, please send us before an email to our technical support : [email protected] .
Some situations can cause bad issues and it will be wise to check with us if the transformation is possible.
Please note : Before to make the software update, please erase the car kit memory. You just need to press the green and red button of the car kit at the same time: you will hear MEMORY ERASING PLEASE WAIT and then your can release the buttons. Once you hear PLEASE PAIR DEVICE, the car kit is OK for the update.
Best Regards

In other words if you have the flash kit ( which I do ) all you need to do is upgrade the buttons for £18 and flash the ROM and you have a new upto date Carkit...

Hi, I have a THB Bury kit with a hard wired (not Blue tooth) Kaiser mount, the audio from the speaker is fine but the Mic quality in a call is awfull with buzzing and noise! to the point it is unusable most of the time.
ive checked the install and everything seems fine, moved the mic to the bottom of the rear veiw mirror and tried various other locations without improvment, ive had a look arround the web for this fault and although it is mentioned as a possible design flaw i cant find much info on a fix.
has anyone had experience of this or any suggestions??
The car is 2001 Volvo V40 20T and the kit is Bury TakeTalk with controller mounted under glove box, speaker is mounted on left kick panel and mic is now mounted on bottom of rear view mirror!
Cheers
Mark
THB = Total Heap'o Bobbins
Hi Mark,
I have exactly the same problem.
Someone suggested to me (can't remember if it was on here on on another car forum I'm on) that there ia an issue with the mic connection pin from cradle to docking connection.
The suggestion was to disconnect/reconnect, but I have tried and given up on this.
Pretty poor show for something that cost a total of £150 with both the System8 kit and then the cradle. My TyTn/Hermes cradle never had this trouble - and don't get me started on the fact I had to buy a new one due to the slightly offset usb connection........
Hi,
This is almost covered by a few other threads, but none really address this specific issue (hence the new thread).
What distinguishes this one is that I am looking forward to the HTC Touch Pro 2 and therefore therefore require a car kit that can work with my current handset (O2 branded Kaiser) as well as being compatible with (or upgradable to) the HTC Touch Pro 2.
The car I have has an epically old (Nokia 3310 maybe) car kit already plumbed in (with mic). I am not interested in a bluetooth based kit as I would like to integrate it with the car stereo, possibly using the connections already provided by the current kit.
I also want the phone to stay charged so that I can use it as a GPS device. I would rather it was not windscreen mounted (encourages people to break into cars looking for the GPS device).
I can probably build one out of the bits I have here (although a 3.5mm headset to HTC headset adapter would be required to make it easy, else I'd have to strip cables), but I'd much rather buy a sweet looking commercial kit.
Oh, and the other problem is I am in the UK (so right hand drive car) and not all US released kits are available here (although if it matches my requirements, I might consider importing).
Anyway, thanks for reading this far and I would be grateful for any suggestions or descriptions for how you have achieved any similar solutions.

PS If I could also get the moon on a stick, that would be great too
