I had forgotten MMSLite was finishing in March...
I foudn out painfully last night while I was in a party and could not send or recieve any MMS
Does anybody know if there is any release working after March ? I do not mind paying if I have to, but I cannot find the website where I shall subscribe
Not that I am that much into MMS in genreal but in Japan where SMS are not compatible accross carriers it s just the only way to go...
Please can anybody help ?
I still can use MMSLite, build 265. See last post of this thread...
Anyway HTC Japan promised to release official MMS application for SoftBank on March 18th, check their news...
"SoftBank X01HT S!メール(MMS)・SMSの送受信可能アプリケーション「SoftBankメール」を2007年3月16日より提供開始。" or "SoftBank X01HT application for sending and receiving S-Mail (MMS) and SMS (SoftBank Mail) will be released from March 16th." I wonder if they will support emoticons...

Thanks a lot ! Great news !
Yes emoticons would be great (But... I kind of doubt it. We'll see)
The built 265 is working, again thanks for your help
Btw would be great if we could get CrossBow for the X01HT (Upgrading will always end up with the password problem for illimited internet ). NOt sure we ll ever see that...

Have you found it ? Couldn't get it on the website today (Though it's 16th...)
i just downloaded it (according to the softbank site, download rates are free - so you guys better check your bill at the end of the month -- its a 2.9MB file)...
and it does support emoticons!!!
unfortunately, the app is damn SUPER SLOW...!!!
Emoticon support seems partial, but most of them work. MMS is really slow, and their application works like crap... For example to get a recipient address into a new MMS one need to navigate through menus for too many steps...
I wish MMSLite survives...
only gotten my X01HT a few days back, there is not much i can say yet about MMSLite, but i would definitely agree with you that the new app is definite crap!!!
Willcom's own app is much easier to use; on the other hand Willcom (and Sharp along with it) rarely provide updates to their softwares.

Problem is MMSLite doesnt work under WM6
I guess the only way to go in such a case must be the good old way before MMSLite (MMS Composer + MMSRelauncher + tweaking the connection)
Here is an english translation of MMSLite Build 303.
It works fine under WM6.1 and WM6.5, I use it daily.
More info about how to use HTC phones with Softbank in Japan can be found on my website.

I am sure a lotta pple is waiting for it....
btw, i was testing another similar software, it would be good if yours could hv these additional functions:
(a) Supports Class1 SMS (means u can send and store the SMS in the Sent Folder) as well as Class0 SMS (Flash SMS)
(b) Allows multiple recipents to be selected from Contacts (or configurable Contacts program), or pre-configured (saved) list of recipents selectable for sending the scheduled SMS.
(c) Icon Indicator (or removal) of sent SMSs.
(d) Ability to over-ride scheduled SMS, so as to send the scheduled SMS NOW!
(e) Ability to edit/delete the scheduled SMS i.e. message content, recipent list.
(f) Ability to send SMS with unlimited characters
(g) Supports SMS chat, MMS etc (optional)
I better not make this wish-list too large, les it becomes a damper and delay the beta release.....however, i dun see why anyone will not pay for a great software when they see one!
cheers!

Can add the abilities to read sms and saves incoming/outgoing sms to say storage card?
Thanks
@FOSA
i will take a look in that someday
well i think the sw is gr8 but the point of sms scheduler is scheduling a routine message to be sent so its pointless to schedule an sms without recurring event, for me this sw is very important as i work for a premium based tv channel, usually i have to send a message every 6 hourse & check whether i recieved them or not, unfortunately this sw can solve half my problems, now i don't have to sleep only 6 hours before i have to send another sms but if i can ask the system to reccurring them, then ur the ONE
Hi TheCardinal, just tried SMS Scheduler after installation, received an error "Application Error ({396BA9A2-978B-11D1-80AC-00C04FAD5EFT}) could not be created" after installing to SD, hope you have some idea what this means.
Update: Just tried installing to main memory, same error.
@iggy
Dont know why it happen dont have that error while developing the program. maybe because im accessing my list using XML and i dont know if the original XDA has the .dll, maybe i can use the old way of saving the list and try it.

i mean it should have reccurence, in other words i schedule a message like at 16:00 & ask it to do it everyday at the same time EVERYDAY
hi all im kinda of new around here. i have been learning and reading everything all of you have done and it has taught me alot.
My question is im using arcsoft 3.0.26.11c(same version blee used in his custom rom) and i can not seem to get my mms to work at all what so ever.
is there anyone here willing to help me out or atleast point me in the right direction.
THANK YOU
really no one?
MMS isn't supported on the Touch, and never was officially. You used to be able to download a 3rd party program, like Arcsoft, and get it to work. However, Sprint has blocked even that on its servers, so there is nothing we can do. Google "sprint touch mms" and you should find a million posts on the subject.
*EDIT*
This will save you the Google: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=11158&highlight=mms
ok well ive been working on it for a couple days and if sprint blcked arcsoft how come i can send mms to people all day i just cant receive?
thanks for the info but i do believe we could get this working

Its sending for you? Sprint supposedly blocked it so you couldn't send. I haven't tried it in a while, but once they blocked it everyone started getting a "message delivery failed" message when trying to send.
To receive you should just be getting a text message with a link in it to Sprint's PictureMail...that has nothing to do with the Arcsoft app.
why would i get a link to sprints mail when it is on cricket like i had mentioned in the title.
i am so confused.
Hi,
I have cricket, and had the same problems you are describing with my touch and my titan.
The solution was to:
a) use a ROM with an MMS client built-in, or
b) create your own ROM with an MMS client built-in (added to OEM folder)
If I installed MMS using a .cab, I would not receive anything, regareless of version of Arcsoft I chose. My phone would wake up, status icon would go EV-->1X-->EV, and no notification, ever. If I cook a ROM with the same version of Arcsoft built-in, it works fine. I'm still a terrible cook, and enjoying every minute of it! It's actually enjoyable working through the issues I think most people have building their first ROM (none were MMS related). Compared to tracking down why MMS can not receive when installed onto an unsupported device using a cab.
I recommend Arcsoft 4.2.8.1 or newer, so you do not have the problem of the respawning X-Alltel-MDN/X-VzW-MDN registry items in WspHeader.
i am using a built in arcosoft.... i am so lost any more help would be greatly appreciated
Hi there. Firstly I would like to wish all of the members of the forum a Happy New Year!
I have been running my HTC universal with the TOMAL v85 WM61 20764 rom image for some time now and find it exceptional, however, now my wife has moved into the 20th century and is capable of sending MMS messages I notice that there is no MMS capability to send or receive on my Universal.
Does anyone know how to install the O2 MMS App for the Universal? I have the original ROM image that came with the Universal, but do not have the knowledge of how to strip the app out.
Any pointers would be extremely appreciated!

ok just install the following app....
Thanks for the reply Rajivshahi, but this app was not designed for Windows Mobile 6.1 and does not appear in the Programs list.
Does/did anyone else have this issue on the O2 network? How do you receive MMS messages?
I have done a search on this topic, both here and in general web pages and can only find details of thesettings to use, however, when I go to messaging I do not have an MMS section, only SMS and email.
Yours perplexed....

It's normal, ... just go to text message and click new then you will get get 3 option Voice mail, MMS and SMS. choose one and start sending.... go to menu in text screen to adjust the setting....
The only way to do this is disabling the htc messaging client but then i loose the ability to send mms!
Any other way?
Thanks!!

you can use arcsoft mms....next time it would help us help you more if you would post more information like what device you are cooking for, ect.
mmm I guess he is referring at the new User experience in 6.5.X that when a sms comes it dont takes you to the threaded conversation when tap on reply... in fact it takes you to a single sms mode of review
I dont know how to come back to old style but maybe that is intended to stay as is cause its one of the goals from Microsoft to be like that... cheers

I want to return to the message view as it was in my omnia i900 (microsoft style) without htc message menu and htc background in messages.
I succeded this by deleting htc messaging client but then i dont have mms option then.
I googled and i see there are many people with the same issue.
When you disable htc message style and return to microsoft message style you loose the mms option.
Any ideas?
Thank you both for your answers.!!
Microsoft does not support MMS , for that you need messaging Client Arcsoft as TPC said.

Hi All
I wonder does anyone noticed that when reading sms on my legend. I could not see the latest sms on top. if you have more than 100 sms from one contact you have to scroll down in order to see the newest sms. Any solution for that issue. Please Help me!!
Everyone who updated the phone software recently is having this issue, very annoying...
I switched to handcent messaging... it is a very decent alternative and it shows the last message on top.
Extremely annoying.
I also installed handcent but when ı read the sms the notification remains on the bar.
realized that problem after reading this thread. the problem exist with the default SMS application.. I recently changed to Handcent and it isn't affected by that.. plus Handcent is pretty nice and all
@lifeis, have you disabled the notification option for your default SMS application? you have to do that to let Handcent "take over" the default one
I switched to Chomp. Waiting for 2.2 ........
edit: reply from HTC Taiwan
"With regards to your enquiry, the message sorting order is default by google phones. However, we will forward your request to Google and HTC."
SMS Threads
Anyone else having issues with the SMS threads? Me, and other people around the web have threads that now load from the oldest message (ie from the top) so i now have to scroll all the way down to see any new messages! I called HTC who said software devs are aware of the problem but haven't started working on it yet!! He also told me that 2.2 isn't a definite for the Legend!
everybody is having the same problems regarding the sms bug. try sending an email to htc to voice out your concern and hopefully they can do something asap or we might just get used to it.
He also told me that 2.2 isn't a definite for the Legend! [/QUOTE]
Oh dear lol

I got this reply from HTC Taiwan:
"The official upgrade for Android 2.2 is not confirmed yet. Desire will release the upgrade earlier than Legend. As Europe already releases the 2.2 upgrade, Taiwan is expecting for its own release soon. However, the exact date for Legend is still not set."
I don't have this problem
It's weird because I'm not having this issue.

SMS-Threaded-Issue Suggestions
I really like the look of the native SMS app that comes with the phone. However, it misplaces the threaded sms.
HTC support is as sh!tty as it is. I sent them bunch emails, their final answer is "sending in the phone for repair".
Anyways, around April - May 2010, I tried Handcent & ChompSMS. I chose Handcent. The app was good & all, then the updates, then now lots of force-closes. So I switched back to the native app & learned to live with it.
The problem of the native app is that it SLOWS tremendously, especially if you have so many conversations with so many people.
My final solution is the purchase of the Desire (giving the missy my Legend).
With the Desire's Eclair 2.1-update1, the native SMS app STILL suffers from the same problem of the Legend. However, the lag is zero. INSTANTANEOUSLY.. I was VERY CONTENT.
My Desire is recently updated to Froyo 2.2 & it fixes the threaded sms misplace. So, I'm EXTREMELY content now.
So, my recommendation is:
1. Try to live with the native app & wait for Froyo 2.2
2. Try Handcent & ChompSMS & pick your preference.
3. Get the Desire & you'll be as happy as a kid in the candy store.
That's the answer that I got from HTC:
Thank you for contacting us, We apologize for the delay in answering your email, Kindly be informed that currently there is no way to change the sorting of your messages. There may be 3rd party applications that can solve your problem, and you can try searching the market for applications that match your needs. Please note that we are currently analyzing this issue and will determine if this will be addressed in a possible future update. As for the Froyo upgrade, we expect to release updates for several of our 2010 models including Legend and Wildfire during Q3.
