My 1.27 Radio screwed up and after I upgraded to it Emoze causes severe memory leak. How do I use Des's SSPL modified installer to downgrade my Radio to 1.18?
Radio 1.27 is already bundled with Des's installer but 1.18 is not and I don't know how to turn the 1.18 nbf file into an nbh file for the installer. Here's the Wiki page link:

Obviously my BL version is too high for a normal installer downgrade.
I'm on HTC's 1.35 ROM.

Thank you forum (especially Jeff - for the ROM Kitchen, Qman - for the radio stack, Yorch and Aurora13 - for obtaining 4.00.xx for T-mobile)!
From reading the majority of the past posts (since the beginning) and over the course of a week, I have backed up my original ROM to a SD card via the bootloader method and went from this:
(US T-mobile MDA)
ROM v3.14.40 ENG
ROM date 11/26/02
Radio v6.18
Protocol 324e4
to this:
ROM v4.00.16 ENG
ROM date 07/10/03
Radio v6.24
Protocol 324e4
(via the desktop .exe file)
Everything works just fine except for one concern...under Phone->Tools->Options, I no longer have the "More" and/or "Band" (900/1900) tabs available. I know I could switch bands via the bootloader method; otherwise, will I miss anything by not having these options available?
With a business trip to Europe coming up, if I downgrade back to 3.14.40, will retaining the 6.24 radio stack be much of an issue?
Thanks again in advance to anyone who can help!
There be a slight problem with the downgrade involving the radio stack but that can be overcome by removing a certain file from the startup folder during the radio stack part.
But I'll make it a little bit easier for you, since you're California and I'm in Nevada just send me a 64MB SD card and I'll do a .bin file install to it and send it back. That way you can just install the correct or needed WM2003 ROM with the options that you seek or need.
Anyhow if this sound like a plan just drop me an email, you already have my correct/needed email address so feel free to use it

Thanks again Qman!
I've just sent you a message to your email addy.

I just want to check that this is correct since I'm new at this. I cooked a rom on xda.weblink.net and selected the t-mobile 4.01.16 rom and all the options i want and selected the .exe option. Then when I run the .exe and im about to click upgrade it says I will be upgrading to rom 3.16 (attached screenshot). i thought i was upgrading to 4.01.16?
Do not worry!
ignore the info and go ahead, you will get 4.01.16
after all the problems i've heard about, i wonder if i shouldnt just use the SD card method. This is my only phone and without it I am screwed! Does the SD card method update the radio like this one does?
The sd card method is used with the ce part of the rom, if your radio stack is working ok I suggest you leave it alone. I think the reason the screen says it is installing a different version is because it is patching code so the rom is accepted rather than being rejected because of a mismatch of country/rom/version etc.
i've heard that the radio stack for this version will increase gprs speed

I tried to understand the functionality and possibilities of the ROM Tools dutty´s NBH 1.1 and HTC ROM Tool of dark simpson.
The work great and are really easy to use.
I extracted successfully some different ROM components with dutty´s tool and build it together in a new way with the HTC Tool. For example i extracted a radio rom, build it in a new nbH file with HTC and flashed it to my pda - it works fine.
Questions to the profs:
Is it possible to change only the ExRom in this way, so that i can set only one extracted Extended ROM in HTC Tool (nothing else), getting a flashible rom?
For what purpose do i need the GP3 and GP4 SPLs and the IPL? I lost them blank by building the radio rom and it works.
I agree they are good tools - i use them likewise. Yes you can just flash extended rom - nb to nbh then flash.
You do not need spl ipl when flashing - in fact best leave then out - it greatly reduces the chances of bricking your device.
Thx - Hmmm !!?
In which cases do i need to put this files (GP3 SPL GP4 SPL and IPL) into the HTC Rom Tool building a new rom?
What ist real purpose? Normally i do not have to change them, but when why?
Is this the base or a part of a new bootloader or new OS architecture?
Part of the bootloader - thats why you can brick your device (has to return to manufacturer - cannot fix on the forum) if it goes wrong. An upgrade in spl ipl will possibly give a slight increase in boot time but nil else. So my advice is leave well alone. Most cooks concentrate on the os with maimach tools etc.. the tendecy now is to do little or nothing with the extended rom - and most cooks stay clear of ipl/spl upgrades.
Ok, every worked fine my Phone details are:
OS version 5.2.21864 (21864.5.0.81)
Manila version 2.5.19202525.0
Rom version 1.43.110.2 (70315) WWE
ROM date 10/28/09 Radio version 2.12.50.02_2
Protocol version 15.40.50.07U
HSPL3 installed
Have cleared all added apps, factory reset, formatted sd card but android won't start left for 30 mins each time once overnight tried 5 times so far, with 3 diffrent builds seems to be doing something has got some failed script e.g.: failed to allocate the storage and something to do with e2sck1.41.4 Seems to be liking the battery alot in the script a page worth.
Any ideas?
Try to install the new official 3.14 HD2 rom en put a folder on ur SD card called "Android" and in that folder all the correct files. Maybe that works for u
Downloading now will give that a try.
Your radio MUST have .50 in it, not .51. I would suggest making sure you have a compatible radio or you will be wasting your time...
Ok that rolled back the radio, so have tried to re-install custom RUU and won't let me install the radio again and it won't install...pants. (edit) have found tha HSPL need re-adding, have now installed custom RUU still not loading android....
gets too:
Superblock invalid / mount failed
loads of script about the battery
Any idea?
Oh yes happy to admit I am a n00b at this.

What HD2 do you have in the first place? Assuming you have TMO-US HD2 according to the radio version you described here is what you need:
HSPL3 installed (make sure that you chose 2.08 in the drop-down menu);
CustomROM based on 3.14WWE latest T-Mobile / HTC update;
Radio Version you should go with is 2.15.50.xx;
and depending on what Android Build you go with place "Android" folder on the root of your sd card. If it does not load, try to delete Android folder and then copy only the content of the Android folder into the root of the sd card... it really depends how devs make it to work...
I got HSPL3, Energy 2.5GTX 3.14, Radio 2.15 and HyperDroid 1.7 with mychprima's kernel OCd and UVd - and everythign works perfect.
If it still gives you problems you have probably messed up in the beginning with HSPL maybe or something...
Sorted, lol I am UK not use was install HSPL3 I needed 2 Thanks for your answer I am sure others will find it most useful. Cheers
