Good question, but i don't know the answer yet, because i didn't try this.
In theory it should be possible; finally o2 offers their ROM for XDA Neo on their website.

Thanks redandr!
You think that I can simply upgrade XDA neo with this ROM instead of that XDA is locket for O2?

You need to upgrade the ROM first, and then the radio. If you can read norweigan you could check this url for a step-by-step instruction:
http://www.idedata.no/support/support.asp?ID=299
Yep upgrade ROM First then Radio for more information check the ROM Section in the Forums or http://xda-developers.com/rom/

new qtek rom 3.16.52 radio T3.23.01
Hi,
Thank you for screwing up my Qtek for giving me the
web site for upgrading ROM & Radio etc... without warning
me or others about the danger of turning the whole experience
into a nightmare for some. That is with a completely screwed
frozen device.
By the way the reason I want to thank you is that after
screwing up my Qtek, I now have a brand new Qtek replaced
with the latest rom and radio version (luckily still got that
warranty) Not so lucky for those without the waranty I suppose.
I hope those reading this page will be a wake up call to what lots
of crazy guys (including me) are trying to do every now and then
trying to get their qtek or xda upgraded to better version etc..
MAKE SURE YOU ARE VERY SURE WHAT YOU ARE DOING OTHERWISE
YOU WILL REGRET IT.

Hi,
Dont be too impatient to upgrade. You might have your qtek screwed up
if that isnt the right one. Try your qtek distributor, they might have it.
Sorry I just dont have the website where you guys could go to get the
upgrade. Be careful and dont upgrade without being 100 pecent sure
of the correct upgrade. Cheers

Special Edition ROM

Hi,
I'm new to all this. I just got my first XDA and i need to unlock my sim code. I'm not sure how to do all this unix stuff. Is there anyone with all this done. And could they send me a copy so i can flash it to my rom?
My Rom ver. is 3.14.13 if thats any help
Also is this rom version too early for the XDAunlock tool?
Thanks
Seek and ye shall find
Your best bet is to search through the relevant posts (its a long and laborious job) but you will find what you are after.
Also look at the Rom Kitchen and you will be able to 'cook' your own rom and then flash it via your cradle. I do not have a Unix machine but the kitchen will create an exe for you to download.
As for sending you one, I doubt it as the rom is usually about 15Mb in size and so is a no no. Get to the kitchen, start cooking and enjoy the fruits of the XDA gurus labours.
As a word of warning some people may not be so forthcoming with info as they prefer people to search for their answer before posting. Just to let you know and prevent annoyance with regular posters
Goddame, go to : http://cuba.calyx.nl/~jsummers/ROMkitchen
It's the easiest way, you can cook there your ROM, and after download it ,even as an .exe.
Just be carefull to read the different choices, depending on the ROM you choose first . (don't choose a T-Mobile one if you're not with T-Mobile . I have an O2 XDA UK , and I choose 4.0011 ENG WM 2003, all is OK , before I had upgrade the RSU -> 4.21 on the O2 site
You should read the different threads about that on the forum, so you can have the feed back of others, what to do...or not, problems, etc....
Thanks for your help.. I should have looked around a bit more. I have had a look at the ROm Kitchen and it makes things alot easyer. I keep looking about for more info.
Thanks again.
There is a tool to unlock your XDA made by the super guys here .. check the Unlock forum ... Hint: it doesn't work with ROM 4.xx

Does that mean that if I have a Locked O2 XDA and I install 4.00.11 ENG WM2003, my phone will still be locked?
Also, can I upgrade my O2 XDA 3.15.15 ENG to 4.00.11 ENG WM2003?????
Thanks Amit

Correct. First cook a ROM based on 3.17.03, unlock the phone using XDAunlock from Start/Programs/Phone., and then run the installer exe for a ROM based on 4.00.11 (for instance).

Yes you can.
Thanks Lads I've updated my XDA no problem.
I got a update to 3.17.03 from O2s website then cooked me a Rom update to 4.00.11 WM2003 in the Rom Kitchen.
The only problem i have now is that vodafone won't give me the settings for there GPRS connection because the phone isn't a vodafone autorised phone. Does any one have the settings for vodafone in Ireland? If so please forward them.

This is the very essence of silliness. "I want to pay you money to use the service your business is about providing." "No, you're not authorized to pay us money to use the service our business is about providing."
lol
I got on to vodafone a gave them loads. So they put me onto there data support and he emailed me the settings and it worked. Why do you have to go through so much s**t to get what you want off companies like these????
Any how it's working fine.
Thanks everyone for your help!!
My XDA is running perfect

Change Rom?

Is it possible to change or downgrade my rom with a cooked rom? i bought an XDA with wm2003 4.11 rom.
Yes this is possible, you could use either a new rom (which you can cook in a rom kitchen.
Or you can use the sd card way.
but the rom's in the kitchen are lower than my rom
T0722 you can still downgrade
even if the rom is a lower version
or are you asking IF you should downgrade to a lower version ?
Actully, I'm looking for a better rom. probly a 4.00.16 ENG rom. I only see specific telecom roms. what's the diff anyway?

i've seen t-mobile updates of WM2003 but i don't think it will work well in asia. because t-mobile uses the 900/1900 while in asia we have the 900/1800 frequency.
That will be no problem. The site i linked in the post above is from T-Mobile in Germany. We also use the 900/1800 frequency.
But i didn´t find anyone, that has an new MDA with the original t-mobile wm2003 Software....
Regards
Stefan
you have the rom? the site is in german can't understand it.
Yes and No , all new T-Mobile MDA`s have WM2003 , but this ROM you can`t get alone(without MDA) .
At the T-mobile site(Germany) is only PPC2002 upgrade .
Sorry for bad English

New Siemens SX 56 ! How to unlock ?

My device information :
Siemens SX56
ROM : A.30.09 ENG
ROM date : 01/01/04
Radio version : 4.21.00
I've read all the topic here, but nothing can't apply to unlock my Pocket PC. Can anyone help me with this ?
Thanks so much.
you can't unlock it while you have any WM2003 ROM ... you must down grade to PPC2002 ... SER v1.2 is good for that.
So can't have any solutions to unlock it ?
Cause I doesn't want to downgrade it, it's not a good way to unlock.
down grade, unlock then upgrade again
Hi,
I'm new on this forum and I see that there are very knowledgeable about the at&t siemens sx56. I just purchased one, and I intend to use it with my t-mobile service. It is un-locked with the at&t logo but I would like to sign up for e-mail and internet with t-mobile using this phone. Do I need to update/change the ROM as I've been reading on this forum, and how do I change the ROM to a t-mobile? I would also like to know all he things I need to do to make it run wih T-mobile services. Thanks in advance.
There is no need to change the rom, you can manually enter all the settings for your services once you have them from your service provider or from this forum.

thanks, how do I change the settings from At&t to the t-mobile setting. t-mobile will not give me any instructions since the sx56 is for at&t. I would appreciate it if you can provide me the setting or point me in the right direction. Thanks.

First, spend some time reading in this forum and use the search option ... then go to the kitchen and cook 3.17 based ROM ... flash your ROM which will be unlocked by that time ... then cook any other WM2003 ROM to upgrade your xda ... 4.01.16 is very good option
