Qtek 1010 software for O2 XDA?

I have for a long time been looking for software updates for my O2 XDA (I have ROM 3.02.00 ENG and radio version 4.01), but with no luck.
Now I have noticed new software for free download for the Qtek 1010, apparently ROM 3.16.13 ENG and radio 3.19.01 (should this be 4.19.01?)
Is it possible to use these 2 files to update the software?
As my O2 XDA is unlocked, I wonder whether updating the ROM and the radio version will have any effect on the unlock, i.e. could the phone change to locked?

Where have you found these files!?!? I have a Qtek, but haven't heard anything about no upgrade. You bet I'm interested!

It's working! I just upgrade the radio rom from 4.16 to 3.19.01.

Sound more like a downgrade then a upgrade. :lol:
Did you also did the winCe rom upgrade?

Don't look at the first number in the OS or radio versions, it denotes region. 4.16 is an older version than 3.19.

Was the upgrade done on a Qtek 1010 or a XDA?

They only say, somthing about sending the OS via eMail. It seems, that there now downloads left ...
Has somebody got that Download and is willing to share it with us ??

The image can be downloaded on the first site...
however, I have just reflashed my XDA/MDA with the older irish ROM, it has plenty more features than this one, GPRS standby and ISDN call type.
Don't trust the version numbers

And for the radio

Please note you must first upgrade the CE version then the Radio...upgrading the radio only can cause problems

You are wrong, the Radio update goes first and patches WinCE.
btw. don't use the update, really, use the Ireland O2 update ROM.

Strange file after updating
I have upgraded my Qtek using

I performed all the instructions correctly and my pocket pc now has the
upgrade. However, in the remove programs, there is a file called HTC RSUupgrde.
I dont know I don't have to remove this or should it actually be there on my pocket pc? What happens if lets say I have to do a
hard reset and I lose this file?

Hi,
I have the new version qtek ROM and radio stack upgrade
send to me in a cd. I dont have the website for you guys to
download or go to. I dont suppose I could copy it as it would
be illegal or infringe any trade mark etc... Still think you should
check with your supplier or distributors for that upgrade.
Dont be too impatient to upgrade or you will find your qtek
screwed up if you download the wrong type of rom & radio
upgrade. I have learned my lesson the hard way and I hope
others will not have to go through the bad experience that I
have had by not being careful upgrading. Cheers.

Qtek only release upgrades to distributors. It is up to them how to distribute it to the end users.
3.16.52 and T3.23.01 are the latest versions.

Not all of us has distributors in their countries... i got my QTEK while visiting in Europe on work.
I think we should be able to share here not give each other just lessons!

by the distributor. No website yet.
Check with your supplier or distributor for that.
I do not mind to share but just dont know how to
put the upgrade on the web for those interested.

I believe that 3rd party software is included in some of the builds. If you distribute the ROM then people are geting the 3rd party stuff for free.
I do like actually making money our of software I write. Just trying to earn a living.

It is stupid enough to tell everyone have something new , but say "I will not give you any proof because of ...... ".

Links to download 3.16.52/3.23.01 have been posted in other threads. Look around a bit and you should find it.

Change Rom?

Is it possible to change or downgrade my rom with a cooked rom? i bought an XDA with wm2003 4.11 rom.

Yes this is possible, you could use either a new rom (which you can cook in a rom kitchen.
Or you can use the sd card way.

but the rom's in the kitchen are lower than my rom

T0722 you can still downgrade
even if the rom is a lower version
or are you asking IF you should downgrade to a lower version ?

Actully, I'm looking for a better rom. probly a 4.00.16 ENG rom. I only see specific telecom roms. what's the diff anyway?

sorry what i meant was 4.00.11 rom. atually i'm looking for one also coz i downgraded to 4.00.05 and it hangs often. 4.00.11 is more stable. i also would like to try the 4.00.16 but it's only available on T-Mobile in the kitchens anyone?

I don´t know which version of WM2003, but here in Germany you can buy the mda I witg WM2003 from T-Mobile.

I don´t know which version of WM2003, but here in Germany you can buy the mda I witg WM2003 from T-Mobile.

i've seen t-mobile updates of WM2003 but i don't think it will work well in asia. because t-mobile uses the 900/1900 while in asia we have the 900/1800 frequency.

That will be no problem. The site i linked in the post above is from T-Mobile in Germany. We also use the 900/1800 frequency.
But i didn´t find anyone, that has an new MDA with the original t-mobile wm2003 Software....

Yes and No , all new T-Mobile MDA`s have WM2003 , but this ROM you can`t get alone(without MDA) .
At the T-mobile site(Germany) is only PPC2002 upgrade .

It's very easy...connect via usb, make sure Activesync is connected, then (going from memory here, but the tool will prompt you anyway )
Enable RAPI
Unlock (if not using a Qtek)
'w' to write the file
cross fingers and wait for phone to reboot
But again, only do it if you're comfortable! I am no Qtek representative

will update the OS ONLY (ie WM5) and NOT alter the contents of the Extended ROM??
I ask because I want to keep my T-mobile UK customisations (Found in the extended ROM) as they have my internet settings etc. I dare say one day I'll get around to finding out what they are so I can ditch the T-mobile stuff.
P.S Just in case I have backed up my extended ROM stuff just in case

Not really, it seems to customise the look of the PDA - easily altered using Pocket Plus, and it sets the IE homepage and settings. What all the others do is anybodies guess??

Mine is 5.1.70 (build 14406.1.1.1), if your WM5 version differs then there is at least one reason to upgrade my Qtek9100 rom (1.1.7.9). Otherwise it seems that 1.6.7.1 is the same as 1.1.7.1 in terms of OS

Will I lose or gain anything over the O2 ROM (that was shipped with the handset)?
The one feature I REALLY want is A2DP so I can use my bluetooth stereo headphones.

yes, the build is different. after updating to this rom, it is now 5.1.70 (build 14409.1.1.2) < no AKU2.0 though

i can't upgrade always getting msg itsutils.dll inuse ?

I got my PDA for 3 day and thanks to the posts here, I unlocked,

What is not clear for me at the moment is the extended rom issue ?
Is this a sort of addition ?

What was the original source of your ROM? Did you modify it in any way? The ROM that TMO UK offers is version 1.6.2.4, so yours appears a bit more "advanced".

is it possible to upgrade the firmware to WM6? i visited HTC.com and it does not say anything about P3600 being able to upgrade to WM6.
anyone has more info on this? if i can upgrade to WM6, please provide a site for this.

i got the phone a few months ago and i was told it's WM5. thanks for mentioning it, really. i look under start/settings/about and i have indeed WM6
