A2DP Sound Quality ? - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam General

Does ne1 have a verdict on this?
I've applied all the reg fixes and my Moto HT820 still sounds like a tiny radio.
Because of this, I haven't used it much since I got the 8525.
This is the same BT headphones I used for my previous HP 6515.
Ehh, those days, I bragged about the superior wireless quality of a2dp.
I like to get that back if I can.
Does ne1 know how ?

Maybe try the HTweakC posted here on xda. It has a tweak for stereo bluetooth sound. I tried it, and thought it really improved the sound. I was having lots of problems with my 8525 before HTweakC, and my battery life went down the toilet immediately after installing HTweakC. I eventually hard-booted.
Other people have reported that it works well. I'll try again after I get my phone re-loaded and backed-up....

Install the Widcomm BT stack. Unfrotunately, many headsets are just not compatible with the MS A2DP implementation, resulting in sub-par quality. The Moto seems to be one of them.

I've been following that thread but it looks like it still is unstable for now. Since I use my phone for my job as well, I can't risk it.
Does ne1 know why the a2dp quality is so much better on my previous 8125?
Is it a different stack?
Thanks.

Upgrade Pocket Bluetooth Tools 1.0.1.2

The current version 1.60 of the ROM includes already a virtual serial port but unfortunately it is a dynamic port, which is not visible to many applications. Also the ActiveSync support is difficult and complicated to use and if you want to synchronize with different computers you have always to couple the device again.
For future releases I plan the following improvements:
Support for Bluetooth headsets
Support for Bluetooth network access points
Send contacts and files through Bluetooth
http://www.angeltowns.com/town/bluetooth/
i am looking also for handsfree bluetooth support if any help on that
Yeah, headset works fine, it's the handsfree profile we need, that's the one adding enhanced features....
Do you know why some headsets work better than others? I understand that the profile does not work and therefore you can not use the functions on the headsets, but I'm curious if your recent fix will help headsets such as the Jabra BT250 communicate better with the device. The HBH-65 has no issues, but Jabra does note, often very slow to connect. I like the Jabra because I can hear better-age you know.

Maybe because of the headsets itself ? I bought a HBH-35 and can do [/quote]anything with it, walk out of range and back, turn it off and on, reset the MDA, chanrge the headset etc etc. without having to re-pair...

What headset-functions do you mean ? Caller ID ? Voicedial etc. ?
That's not in the headsetprofile, that's in the handsfree profile. the headsets with enhanced functions use the handsfreeprofile also, nut just the headsetprofile...
downloaded and installed 1.0.1.2 fantastic my new bt gps works! However I can not use my gps and hbh-65 headset at the same time, any ideas please
Simply stated I was wondering if the new blutooth fix might help the Jabra BT250 work better. I know other headsets work without issue, but Jabra seems to have some problems, and I doubt that this is a Jabra problem, I believe it is a BT Device profile issue.
Can I have another link to the software cause the link is blocked from my ISP, or can any body upload it here or any other palce...
Best regards,,,
I have a new HBH-200, it works ok to answer a call but all the other features are not working, such as caller number etc.
Like i said; It's not i the headsetprofile. The headsetprofile doesn't do much except making a wireless headset possible. Answer, dosconnect and talk and listen, that's all...
Everyting else is in the handsfreeprofile (handsfree is used for advanced options for headsets and carkits)...
Link down????? :?:
not for me
Handfree Profile
I have 2 phones, XDA II and a Nokia 8910i.
My bluetooth Headset is the Ericsson HBH65.
To my surprise, I have paired the HBH65 with both phones and I am able to receive calls from both phones (not at the same time of course) without any problems. Whichever phone rings first get the use of the HBH65. In conflicts however, the Nokia seems to have priority over the XDAII, which is fine with me, but I am so happy that it actually works.
As others are mentioning, I am really missing the enhanced functions of the Handsfree Profile. Can anyone suggest any solution or perhaps work on resolving this issue as a lot of people are waiting for this. I was aware that Towas was planning to release a new version to his BT Stack Fix, has he got anywhere with that by any chance? or anyone else?

HT820 Wireless Stereo Problems

I have an O2 XDA Mini S (Wizard) and have just purchased a pair of Motorola HT820 Bluetooth headphones. I have paired the two; however, I only get the Hands Free service (which works) but NO Wireless Audio. I have seen a lot about A2DP Hacks to get these devices working correctly, but shouldn’t the BT headset offer a wireless stereo/high quality/A2DP profile when you pair them?
Is the ASDP Hack the only way to get Wireless Stereo?
Any help with this problem would be very much appreciated.
Thanks, Harold Clements
You have not provided enough information for anyone to help you.
Some Roms have A2DP working without any hack.
To be truthful, I know very little about what I am trying to do. All I know is that I can’t get the music side of the Motorola headset working.
As I said in my previous post: I have an O2 XDA Mini S (Wizard) and have just purchased a pair of Motorola HT820 Bluetooth headphones. The two paired but I only get the Hands Free service but NO Wireless Audio. I clicked on Motorola HT820 and then went ‘Refresh’ and up popped ‘Headset’ so I ticked that and saved. I then clicked (and held) on Motorola HT820. The options that I get are Edit – Delete – Set as Hands Free. I think I should also have ‘Set as Wireless Stereo’ but I don’t.
I have read about the ‘hacks’ (zoad2p.cab, Tornado asdp, AKU2.6) but I am a) unsure if this is a solution to my problem, and b) what a hack is and why is it needed?
I just really want to know how to fix my problem.
Thanks for your help,
Harold Clements
Would you be willing to try a cab that i made? I dont have a wizard to test on and you seem to have the perfect requirements in which i need to test. If you are willing to try this cab would you please PM me your email address???
This cab is a variation of the zoA2DP and an idle thread process (which works great on the hermes)
Also you will need A2DP to listen to wireless Bluetooth stereo... most provider roms do not have this feature, most cooked roms do..
Also, in addition to the MS BT stack, you'll want to give a try to the Widcomm BT stack. With eit has its share of problems, it delivers much superior sound quality compared to the MS BT stack and its CPU usage is less that that of the MS stack.
Thanks very much for your replies guys. The thing is I am new to this and I don’t really understand.
Correct me if I am wrong but if the Motorola HT820 Bluetooth headphones are compatible with my mobile device (as documented) then surly it should work without much hardship?

Cingular 8125 and A2DP Hissing Sound

Hi,
I have been all around this forum and tried all the different kinds of things to fix the a2dp. I have installed the cabs, tried AKU rom, tried the widcomm stack.
The only thing with somewhat success was using the widcomm stack, which improved the quality to a reasonable degree, but then my headset will not work with calls. Call audio still comes through the phone instead of the headset.
Has anyone been successful in making the headset work without the hiss, or to make the widcomm stack work with calls and with music? And maybe there are settings u can change for widcomm like there were for the MS stack to make the hiss go away?..
I don't know what to do, can someone share their experience and how they got their HT820 and 8125 working with good sound quality (no hissing)
Thanks for your help,
Riley
same problem
Yes, I have the same problem with the hissing sound! I got a Moto HT820 running with all the features it has but it souds awful. Especially the clanking snare drum in some music tracks crack my ears .
I have installed the tornado_a2dp.cab from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=263745. Most in that thread don't complain about the sound. Further more they say it's great. What can I do?
Have QTek GER, CE2.18.7, ExtRom 2.18, Radio 2.07.10 on my device.
You see my English is exclusively school made I hope you understand me out there.
Anyone have an idea or solve the problem? Maybe another .cab or some with better sound?
It has everything to do with the headset you're using.
I used the tornado hack and didn't complain about sound at all because my A2DP headsets sound great! In fact, as good if not better than wired speakers...
Problem is, I later tried an i.tech R35, and it sounded awful... suddenly there's a hiss and ping distortion that wasn't there on my other A2DP headsets, yet they sound great when paired with a nokia phone or my PC for music.
Apparently, there is an incompatibility between MS A2DP and certain headset implementations. Something to do with the compression... anyway, no amount of tweaking has helped yet. We need someone at MS to re-write the compression codec, and that simply hasn't happened. Since some headsets DO work fine, I believe Microsoft has denied that there is a problem!

A2DP upgrade in wm6?

Hi All,
Ive tried the a2dp fix and it seems to have improved things. I then tried the widcomm stack and the sound was much much better except that i lost avrcp in pocketplayer and i keep gettings skips ever minute or so....and well...im frustrated!
Has the a2dp received an overhaul in wm6 and is it worth upgrading to just for the [improved i hope!] a2dp?
Please let me know as i am still running wm5.
Thanks,
G
PS- im using the moto ht820 on the imate jasjam[herm100]

I just strated using the A2DP and the quality sucks still in WM6 even with the quailty hacks to the registry. I am going to try the Widcom stack on it and see if it is better. But to answer your ? NO the WM6 BT for A2DP still sucks.
Thanks for the info dude...well thats really depressing to hear
The widcomm stack is awesome but i keep getting random stutters in the music so until someone can fix that a complete move to widcomm wont be possible. The good thing though is that you can use both the standard stack and the widcomm stack without having to uninstall/reinstall stuff so you can shift between the two[just enable and do a soft reset]
PLEASE SOMEONE FIX THE STUTTERING IN THE WIDCOMM STACK!!

WM6 + Voice Command 1.6 + Bluetooth Headset

Can anyone tell me if they have a bluetooth headset that REALLY works with Voice Command 1.6? Meaning that it operates through the bluetooth headset as designed. I see a lot of posts from months ago without anything conclusive.
With the California law going into effect 7/1, I need to get one quick!

I don't know what posts you have been looking at. MSVC working or not is hardly related to which BT headset you have. Granted some headsets have better noise cancellation, and thus recognition, then others. But otherwise, it's generally a software issue. Why don't you read some recent posts on how to get MSVC working...like the one in my sig.

No offense, but the Jawbone doesn't solve any issues with MSVC working. There are dozens of threads on here with the pros and cons of the JB headsets, and a survey on whether or not someone thinks it is the best BT headset is not needed in the thread.
The JB will "really work" with MSVC as much as the Z9 will, as much as any $20 BT headset will. The current limitations of MSVC are not due to the headset.
Bluetooth Headset Clarified
Bengalith -
Thanks for the wealth of information. I'll read through it carefully. I was mislead by all the posts that talked about what worked and didn't work depending on what headset they had. I guess it was like comparing apples and oranges (i.e. different ROMs, MSVC SW versions etc.) Thanks for setting me straight!
