Is anyone aware of issues when using Linkbuttons (asp.net v2 beta) on Pocket PC IE.
Tested my new app on the web today and everything is fine from a PC.
Nothing at all happens when in PPC (v4.20.1081) IE
Could it have something to do with the ~ in the postbackurl destination ?
Are there any issues with pocket PC ?
Please help (things were going so well !)
Java
OK I think it's a java issue.
where do i get a java runtime (don't understand suns site)
but the question is if it's a java applet issue or a java script issue
since java script is not real java sun's java will not help
java script is handled internal in IE and cant be changed as far as i know
maybe it can with another browser
another java which is suppose to be better then suns for pocketpc is
http://www.ewesoft.com/ but dont have much to do with browsers
a ha
Changed the linkbuttons to commandbuttons and all is well
Is this a linkbutton issue or is it specific to Visual Web Developer 2005 beta ?

XDA Data Driven Application Architecture - Language choice

Hi
Similar to the GPS upload thread, I am interested in writing an app to talk to TomTom5 SDK (maybe with or without the TTNC Java/VB wrapper), and upload the data to a Web service.
I am primariliy a Java developer, but have found very little about Java support the XDA... I need to develop for XDA T-Mobile MDA HTC Blue Angel - O/S WME 2002/2003. ..
I have trawled the forums and read a couple of mentions of Java, but nothing conclusive as to what the current situation is with regards to support VM's etc..
Can anyone clarify:
a) What are the supported JVM's
b) If none, what other languages are being used to develop the apps? (is it just VB .NET?)
:?:
java support
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=19415&highlight=java
http://www.ewesoft.com/Downloads/Downloads.html
other languages you can use
c#
c++
both are miles ahead of vb imho
Hiya
I do a lot of work with TomTom and it's SDKs, originally using embedded VB and now C#. One thing to note... I don't think the TTTNCF wrapper for the TT5 SDK (I assume this is the wrapper you mean?!) will work with Java! As far as I'm aware it's .NET only - tho that said I haven't had time to play with the new TT5 version yet
C# or Java
Hi
Yes I am guessing I only need the TTNC wrapper if I am using .NET because if I use Ewe Java, I can talk straight Java to the TomTom SDK, is that your understanding? (I think the SDK is Java)...
Can I ask why you chose C# over Java/Ewe ?
and also, if I choose to develop using .NET C#, can I talk to a Java web service (ie. Axis published)? or do I have to talk to a Microsoft .NET published Web Service?
ms hate java so java is much much more limited on the mw platform
even more limited in many ways then on a normal nokia cellphone
dont know if the tomtom sdk is java but it's odd if it is because normaly pocketpc's dont have java support unless you install 3th party software
so unless tomtom include a JVM then it's not java

no those are pc tools to make programs for pocketpc
if you wanna compile on the pocketpc itself(maybe a bit slow as 400Mhz arm cpu is not really faster then 120Mhz pentium cpu)

Java Problems

Hi I've purchased a HTC Touch 3G and I'm pretty sure it doesn't have JAVA installed on it. This is a big problem since most apps and games are JAVA based. I know it can run JAVA I just don't know how to get it on there. So if someone could tell me how to install JAVA on my mobile that would be amazing. Please help becuase I can not figure it out.
Thanks
Java on my set uses the application name "JBlend" It's built in by HTC.
