Hello everyone,
I have a problem with my sent message notification always sounding. I have done all the registry tweaks, with changing the Microsoft > Inbox etc to 1 to disable it, but that didn't work for me after soft resets and everything. There was another one that I tried that also didn't work.
Please can you give me any help you can,
Thanks

Hi,
I went on the DKToday post in this forum to get to the DKToday plugin and there also saw a couple of registry hacks to enable SMS Notification always on and also to remove the SMS Bubble. I set the same in my registry (PHM Reg Edit).
But DK Today gave me a problem as I also had PPC Profiles & also JGUI MYPHONE on the today screen. Hence had to do a Hard-Reset.
Thankfully had a backup and restored my PPC from the backup. Before restoring from the Backup, I was able to send SMS and also receive SMS but after restoring, am unable to access Messaging. I keep getting a Popup with 997:146:10
Unable to decipher what this error is. The 3 Hacks I added on to my registry were these
Try to switch bt profile using registry entry
---------------------------------------------
[[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\BTProfile]
"ON"=dword:00000001
SMS Notification Always On
--------------------------
[\HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings]
SMSDeliveryNotify = Dword (0x000001)
To remove SMS Notification Bubble
---------------------------------
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings]
Create New Dword Key value to 1 "SMSNoSentMsg"
All the 3 I have reset back to the other values but still getting the error. I really need to restore from this backup only as this is my latest & greatest. Also when I did this backup, I was getting SMS and sending easily and have never encountered this error.
HELP HELP PLEASE.....ALL HELP IS APPRECIATED
I dont know what kind of tweaks are they but the best thing to do is to hard reset. yeah i know it kinda crazy to install all over again, but for me i will hard reset it. Try another help from others maybe thay can help.
Yeah, a hard reset sounds like what you need.
Hi Guys,
When I set the alarm clock at any given time, the alarm message appears but there is no sound? Anybody encountered the same?

otherwise, hard reset will help you.
Check Notifications Program
Check out
http://www.scarybearsoftware.com/ppc_cn_overview.html
for the Scary Bear's software utility that eliminates repeated reminders due to soft resets and other Windows problems. It deletes the problems in red and it usually works for me to help with the reminders and alarm problems.
It says it works for 2003 but I use it on my Atom and it seems to work fine.
I hope this helps!
Thanks Pelicantacos for the tip.will try it
cheers

Hi People!
I simply don't know what to do. Somehow, my SMS sound disappeared -- too, there is no blinking, no vibration, nothing. can please somebody help me and somehow tell me where the error could be. it's set right in the alerts dialog, when i do a preview there, it works. but a new sms seems not to launch the alert. i remember fiddling around with the regkeys that manage the messaging accounts - maybe there is a naming error?
any help is greatly appreciated...
thanks a lot,

Try to go through:
Start - Settings - Sounds and Notifications and then set the sound/vibartion as you like.
thanks, but ..
.. i already tried that, like a hundred times ..
the problem seems to lie elsewhere, as for example in the SMS account name.. fiddling around there may have caused this problem..
BUT i am planning doing a rom upgrade, so the problem will be gone, i think..
btw, is there a generic (HTC, german) ROM version that includes the internal gps-chip? my version: 1.16.407.2 and external rom: 1.16.407.101
Solution found on www.pocketpctweaks.com
as i pointed out the problem started after tweaking my messaging accounts. i now restored them (from a backup i intelligently did) and my sms sound is here again. the "ActiveSync" and "Hotmail" Accounts need to be there in order to have a sms notification ......
\\HKLM\\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Inbox\Svc\
this is _not_ what i call good programming ..
hi, can anyone help me, ive got a new message shown on the message tab, however i have no new messages. i deleted my entire inbox/sent and it still shows a new message. can anyone help me remove this?
when a new message does come through its shows 2 messages, and continues to show more and more as they come, but always left with one message on display tab.. this is the second time this has happened after a hard reset, and i hate doing a hard reset.
thanks again

On my Phone -Voice Mail setting in Sounds and Notifications the Repeat checkbox is grayed out. Anyone know why?
Thanks
are you using visual voicemail?
It comes that way by default,
If you want to activate it look around for a CAB called:/Regedit Enable Repeating Notifications/.
install, reset than go to Notifications Settings and mark the Checkboxes from the start.
Just one piece of warning, even in case you answered your missed call,SMS or Email for exapmle it will still keep on repeating for another few minutes, however to undo it simply Uncheck the Repeat box.
I'm not using Sense so I doubt I'm using Visual Email, at least that I know of.
I surely don't want to trade this problem for a larger one, such as by having to put up with unwanted repeated warnings after I've dismissed the notification.
I found Control Panel/Notifications/Repeat in the Registry and changed it to a 1, then did a soft reset but it didn't make any difference.
Given that Events seem to have individual different default values I'm thinking that the problem is likely in how the event itself is defined in the Registry as opposed to a global setting there.
This CAB i maked yesterday will help.

Can you tell me what Registry entries your cab modifies? Is your cab uninstallable? With notifications being the primary purpose of my PDA functionality I'd like to make sure I know what it is that I'm modifying. At any rate, thank you!!!
This CAB is uninstalable and modify one value in registry:
"Options"=dword:40000000B
if i good remember. C'mon mate i don't wanna hurt your device wanna help.
